Dec. 12: Postgame Interviews
just what kind of a bounce back was that for you guys after yesterday? Yeah, it was huge. I think uh we kind of got away from our game yesterday. Kind of fell apart and uh I think from the puck drop today, we kind of played played some Blues hockey and uh we stuck with it. First Blues goal, you getting a getting a scrap there. Uh kind of a complete night for you, huh? Yeah, it felt uh felt good to get the monkey off the back and then uh I think uh I don’t know, we kind of after they scored that one uh crowd might have got out of it for a bit so I thought I’d try and bring him back in. Kind of take us through your goal there. Nice nice play. Thomas sees you though coming. Yeah, it was I mean a heck of a play kind of an area pass from Tomemer. Uh I mean they had a delay penalty there. So I was coming off the bench and I just saw it and uh jumped up and uh yeah, it was a great screen by Jake in front too. Monty talked before the game that basically start playing for each other. Like how much of that was a was a message for you guys tonight? Yeah, it was huge. It was huge. I think uh that’s kind of when we get into trouble, we’re kind of leaving uh each other out to dry. Uh so I think definitely tonight we played uh played for the guy next to us and uh yeah, it was huge. What does that look like playing for each other? I mean, it’s it’s the little things, you know, winning your one-on-one battles, kind of taking pride in that, blocking shots, uh playing playing a physical type of game, no matter what kind of player you are. I think uh different guys can play physically uh in their own way, and I think uh we kind of did that tonight. Just being much more assertive, I guess, at both net fronts. Something that needed to improve obviously coming 100%. I think I mean, especially after yesterday, uh had a few goals kind of just laying there in front and uh we got beat. So, I think that was uh that was definitely a big part. So, when you see the the Fabry hit that Turvine into the bench, you see Holloway with the fight like are those things that get you guys fired up to 100% 100%. I think Fabs, I mean, if you would have scored that, it would have been would have lived on forever. But, uh that was a great hit. And then, uh yeah, Holly stepping up there, too. That was awesome. So, I think uh just uh little things like that, team toughness, you know, makes uh makes us hard to play against. And uh that’s where we want to be. We don’t want uh teams looking forward to coming in here uh and playing us. So uh so yeah, it was fun. Did Storing in the NHL feel every bit as good as you remembered it? Yeah, it’s been a while. So it’s nice to get it done. Good pass by Favs, but you know, always nice to get it done and obviously got a win, too. Good feeling, you know, roll guys, you know, be able to jump in and contribute like you did. And then Logan gets his first with the Blues, too. Yeah, I I think Maisy, you know, he’s been grinding this year, ups and downs, but I think, you know, for him to get that first one was nice. And then, you know, me, Ganger, and Sunny just as a roll line was, I think we’re pretty good today. So, it’s nice to obviously contribute. So, yeah, I think, you know, roll that into the next game and see what happens. Yeah. Thanks for the Did you like your response? I mean, obviously you weren’t in a lineup last night, but the way things went, the way you guys responded tonight. Yeah, I think we talked about before the game we have four a home stand here four games and we wanted to uh start off right so I think we did and I think we just got to roll into uh the game on Monday and you know keep it going. I think now two points out so I think uh we’re right in the hunt playing for each other is that what presented to you out there when you talked about Yeah, very much so. Excuse me. Right from the drop of the puck you could feel it. Our crowd was into it because our guys were there for each other, rallying around each other. we were connected. Um, we still made a we still made mistakes and that’s going to happen in this game because there’s another team playing. But, uh, the effort and the second and third effort and, uh, playing for each other makes up for a lot. What are the the most important ways you see your group playing for each other? Um, well, we had two fights tonight, but that’s not common anymore. Um, but that’s part of it, you know, and you see guys driving middle lane, stopping at the net. When defenseman were shooting, we had bodies at the net. Um, defenseman were pinching pucks, forwards were replacing them. Uh, in the Dzone, the box outs were hard and heavy at our own net. Um, getting back, winning goal line races so we can break pucks out quickly. Those kind of things is just effort based and it’s doing the job so so someone else doesn’t have to do it. You mentioned the fights man. Just how much does it mean just to not have it be tucker or shed against other guys and hollow against? Well, it means more because uh it energizes the bench even more that someone’s stepping up like that to um you know fight for our team. That’s what they’re doing. Go aside for maybe this as noticeable as he’s been both ends of the ice tonight. No, I think he’s had a couple of other games that were very noticeable where his feet were moving like they were tonight. Uh it was great for him. The one thing you could tell is when the goal went in, his next several shifts were just dynamite. He was just playing hockey. He was heavy. He was hard. Um he was making plays, you know, he was just playing on his instincts and it was great to see. Um May you mentioned the idea of guys can be physical in their own way, not necessarily have to be one physical. How much of a message is that for that group in there? Has that been for you to uh Well, it’s a good message by um you know, Logan to talk to people are physical. People win battles different ways. Some people win them with their physicality. Some people win them with their hands. Some people win them with their brain and their spacing. Um but it was nice to see how physical we were on the fact that we were on a backtoback and Chicago wasn’t despite we’ve played a few more games. just with the the way last night went. Like how important was it to have this type of It was really important. It was great to see um that our leaders led and that our young players and um players that have been on call up all everyone chipped in. You know, it was nice to see everybody again play hard and and play for each other. Feel like you were much more improved at both net fronts tonight. Yeah, dra drastically. Yeah.
Hear from Logan Mailloux, Matt Luff and Jim Montgomery after a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Way to go Logan! The first of hopefully many more to come! Congrats!
Let's Go Blues!
59 years of inconsistent play. Get used to more of it.
Next game we will suck again. I'm not getting my hopes up. Especially if Mr. Rebound on his knees out of position Binnington 3 goals on 7 shots is back in goal.
GO BLUES! MORE FIGHTS!
Wow, no question on Scheen taking out Bedard??? Dirty, dirty, dirty from a crappy player. Can no longer do anything but hit player. I hope they suspend him for as long as Bedard is out.
Shocking @zw2008 is absent from comments again. Pathetic loser just gets off on hating on this team and actively wants them to lose so he can come here any cry and while and criticize on every single video. Pathetic waste of human life.
