[Cormier] Infielder Jorge Polanco and the New York Mets are in agreement on a two-year, $40 million contract, sources tell Jeff Passan. He is expected to play first base and DH.

  2. Primarily a 2b in 2024, slid to mostly DH last year with some 2b, had a career year at age 32…. The mets found their 1b and the dude got paid! Makes complete sense! Lolmets

  5. I’ve always liked Polanco, but if feel like he loses a lot of value playing first. His bat is good for the middle infield, but it’s not really special at first or DH.

  6. Yes, HE will protect Juan Soto in the line-up. I’ve conferred and Emmanuel Clase is planning to take the over on Soto’s 150.5 walks in 2026.
