[Heyman] Mets among “many teams” inquiring on Padres closer Mason Miller

Why sign a closer when we can give up prospects for one?
They should talk to the Dodgers and see if Diaz is available
Bye bye Tong
Why are they now trying to trade him?
Yeah cause we’re a closer away from being a contender…
Just like the Mets were going heavy at Robert Suarez
Don’t love giving up tong based on a couple bad starts. If he never came up the hype machine would still be going on him.
Giving up good young arms for a reliever (when we coulda singed Diaz or even Suarez) doesn’t make sense to me
Giving up prospects to fill a hole we created to add to a team that’s had a wrecking ball taken to it would be so stupid. Sounds like a Stearns plan
ooh i love that
I doubt this.
It wouldn’t undo the damage done but Mason Miller is a complete stud and I would love this.
I selfishly really, really want this.
Would rather target Morejon or Estrada
Mason Miller Closer 🔥
And then sign Bellinger and trade for Buxton and Joe Ryan
Huh? Why would the padres trade him after trading one of the best prospects in mlb to get him? It makes zero sense
We cant afford to trade prospects, we dont have any starters as it is plus why trade multiple pieces when we currently dont even have a winnable team.
Dude has absolutely filthy stuff
But why?
He’s gonna cost a fortune
Love it, but Padres gave up a MAJOR prospect haul for Miller. Have to imagine they’d want the same thing back for him
We need this!!
Tong/Sproat, Mauricio/Acuña, and Peña/Ellington.
Padres need prospects and we need a shut down closer. The team control that Miller is under and the surplus of prospects/young guys we have makes me okay with a potential overpay.
As long as it’s not Benge or Williams, I think we absolutely can work this out.
The Mets would have to give up top starting pitching prospects from their farm system to get Miller. The Padres were at some point considering making him a starter this season, but something changed their mind. How long will that arm last in either role? Keep the prospects and endure for a year or two for long term successes.
lol the padres acquired him and gave up one of the best potential prospects ever and they are already looking to move him?
We’re gonna sign relievers with a 4.4 ERA, that’s 34 years old
No. Great but too costly.
The Diaz trade was similar and it only “worked” because the Mets took on a terrible contract in Cano so the prospect cost wasn’t too high. Even then it would have been a terrible trade had Kelenic not turned out to be a bust.
As it turns out, it was reported after the fact that Kelenic was a little shit, a piss pot, who was a clubhouse cancer and a distraction and that’s probably why BVW was fine parting with him.
The Padres will want SP and we just should not part with ours.
He would be so expensive, but that would be so awesome.
Why would the Padres trade him? This makes no fucking sense.
Better grab him up
this is the only thing that would make me happy right now please do it
Man if only they could have signed a star closer and not have to trade prospects
No. Stop wasting the farm on subpar teams.
It’s too bad Díaz just wanted to jump on the Dodgers bandwagon. Oh well, you have to retool and move on.
Guess they’re looking for a blow me away package like they did to Soto.
