Senators vs. Wild | NHL Highlights | December 13, 2025

Walstead was beaten that day by the Canucks.
Allowed four goals on 21 shots. That snapped a personal sevengame win streak. Batter tried
to center. Stutza defended by Hunt. Comes off the sideboards with it. Back to the line. Jensen.
His shot deflects over the top of the goal. Bather threw it out front. It was loose in the blue
paint for a moment. Pon had one whack at it. Pathther comes out of the corner with
it into the slot. A shot and it was deflected before it was steered aside by Volstead. Tren moves in for Minnesota. Obe
Kubel fanned on a rebound chance. Bouncing puck at center. Pitlick had it briefly.
Now it’s controlled by Stutza. Dropped to Kachchuck. Back to Stutzla. A shot and a save by
Volstead. Any GM, any coach likes the sight of that if that’s that’s what the future holds. Well,
and once healthy, that would mean the next pair could be Spurgeon and Broaddin. A pair that when
they were together last year was the stingiest defensive pairing in the NHL in terms of goals
against per 60 minutes played. Cousins carries in. Tried to drop to Bather. It deflects. Comes loose
near the line. Spence back to Batterson. Down low to Spence. He centers and a shot by Cousins
is deflected up and out of play by Volstead from the slot and we remain even 0. He’s a difference maker every night of
a team. Here’s a loose puck in front. Zland with a shot and Ball steps ball to make the
first save tomorrow night against Boston. What he mentioned too is when Matt Tails made that call,
he said this might sound a little crazy and to go get a guy at that bell and Billy mentioned it,
you got to go take it. He was asked about the timing of the deal. He said the timing is when
a player like that is available. That means the deal got done. Baldi tied up from behind by Pon
plays to the corner. Capri off escapes a check. Got it out to Eurovv. Mr. Mark Parish. So that
was a very enjoyable night and it’s obviously taking a step now having a pro hockey team here
in Minnesota. Eurovv with a shot that’s knocked aside by Marilyn. That was like a football
play to hear from up here but goes and had the puck on a stick. He wanted to do an aerial pass.
Johansson moves in. A shot and a save by Marilyn. Baldi comes off the boards with it. Got it to
Spurgeon. Winds and fires but missed. Twoon one the other way. Jiru, but Amio became
the latest to lose an edge and fall. Greg played it to the corner. Baldi had to
go off the pads of Eric. Amario into the slot. A shot and a save by Wallstead. He once
again got the shoulder on it. line goian shot deflected by Terasco but wide and now back the
other way in. He fires and a save by Volstead. Faber holds to the corner. Teroseno’s
there. Spins off the wall out front to Yurov and a save by Marilyn. The goals
against just under two for the Senators. Stern out to Spurgeon. His shot deflected and
they score. Tyler Pitlick with his first point of the year and Minnesota’s on the board first.
Well, you go to the front of the net. We were talking about Ericson being a nuisance in the puck
finds away five. It starts with a faceoff draw. Sturm a guy you count on to win draws. The 50/50
battle off the draw. Goes in, wins that battle. Spurgeon does a great job of just getting that
puck towards the net, beating that first guy. You see Greg gets out there and tries blocking
it. As long as that puck gets by that top guy, you have a chance chance. It makes it to Pitick
who just gets a heel of stick on a redirects it in between Maryland’s pads and puts a Wild up one-
nothing. Hopefully gives that bench some life. Now loose in the circle. Eurovv comes up with a puck
for Minnesota. Got it out to Spurge and a shot. Save Carolina. Rebound was loose. You win the
face off, you get up to the point and you know talk about Spurgeon having the ability to get
the puck to the net. You win that puck battle gets up top immediately thinking puck to the net.
You got you’re outnumbered works free centered. Hardman got a stick on it and a save by Marilyn
and Capriog throws one on goal. Another save by Marilyn. Bezan plays it to himself off the end of
the net. Capriog on the rebound. Oll off the post. He’s on his backand and who likes to take the
shot and then the puck gets to the front of that. There’s Zack Lorinski. Maybe still include
Victor Hedman. Zetterland with a shot and a glove save by Volstead. We talked about Zderland, a guy
that loves to shoot and he’s got a great great one. Gets himself into an area right between the
hash marks. Wallstead scans, takes a second look, knows where that shot coming coming from. is
75th in the NHL. Stutzler got it in front. Daru a shot and a save by Volstead. Drew starts
a good stick and they had pressure up ice, but what a pickup by Drew up in a speed. Ura into
the corner. Johansson. Johansson out for Eurovv, but it hit a skate on the way so it was off
target. Now Johansson centers they score. Ryan Hartman on the redirect of the Johansson
feed. Minnesota on the power play extends the lead. Hardy was making a difference all shipped
in front of that net and he does a good job of getting tied up with the what to do and goes
to the front of the net. He you know he knows he’s not going to score from there but he takes he
takes an Ottawa defenseman and force him to make a decision. Now there’s a little miscommunication
in front. Freeze up for a split second. Jedson loses Hartman out to the backside and doesn’t make
any mistake. But how he engages with the defense, there’s a little confusion. He slips in some open
ice and gets himself to a good area. Here comes Yakob Tren in and a skate save by Marilyn. Penalty
kill climbing. It’s at 19th coming in. Patterson sends down low. Kachchuck with a shot. Save balls
and the rebound knocked away by Favor. Cousins ends up stick breaking. You look at you look at
the opportunity and Brady Chuck is so good at this right away attack the net goal line presence.
You get a guy that big and strong a lot of times you’re not trying to score on that initial shy.
He steps out and it’s a little pad play off walls pad and then follows up the rebound. Puck goes
back up. Stutzler saucers it up high for Dylan Cousins. Sanderson moves in. fire save ballad and
a whistle when the puck was still loose. Kachchuck throws at Gabe Walstead the benefit of the doubt
on that play. He ends up shoving favor onto him. But you see they’re moving around the outside.
Sanderson elects to rip it. Walstead does get his glove down on that puck. Gets the gets the call,
gets the whistle, but it was indeed still a little bit free on that whack by Chuck and Pachchuck
centers in the skates of Bather. Sanderson plays across. Scoots goes back to Bather now to
Sanderson. Bather walks to the slot. Feeds Cousins a shot. Glove save. Ballstead rebound. They score.
Scootsa just after the twoman advantage expires. Beats Ballstead on the rebound and Ottawa cuts
the Minnesota lead in half. The rebound kicks out right under the tape of Stutza who makes a
diving effort and Boston just goes to open up and stretch and thinking that Stutzel wants to go
upstairs with that puck and I think Favor Stick gets involved and that puck ends up staying
on the ice and going five hole. Stutzel Brady Kachchuck came out and opened the conversation
up with Kohley for that opening face off. to Chuck or Capri off rather. Springs Eurovv and a
save by Marilyn. Eurov makes himself available and finds an open lane, but it’s a great heads up play
out of the zone onto the tape. Eurov comes in, tries to get five on who does a great job leading
with the stick as the goalie pad backs it up. Certainly have not waned at all here early in the
third period. Kachchuck to Cousins and he scores. And the crowd lets the officials know what
they think of the power play opportunity for Ottawa to begin with as Capriov was
whistled for perhaps the softest slash in the NHL this year. Cousins ends up
getting a pass from Tak Wide shoots a blocker side. Looks like Bathson slipped into
the backside post and ends up hitting a shin pad and goes in. But you talk about that
call and Capri off battling. We’ve seen him react this way when he hasn’t gotten
a call in the past. Eurov on the back end wraps it off the boards. Bouncing puck
at center. Pon battling with Baldi and they score from a sharp angle along the wall. Beats with
22 seconds to go. What a play just to jump and corral that puck so that they weren’t
going to call a hand pass on that play. recollects it himself. Has the ability to see
Eric Sak in the far corner of the ice and what a shot and Carolina I don’t think ever saw Eric
Sak over there. He gets up and takes a second look and almost like what are you doing over
there? Eric finds himself wide open way way away from the crease. But Johansson makes
that play, knocks it down with his glove. After video review, it is determined
that there is no high stick. Minnesota has a one-goal lead with 23 seconds
remaining. What a feed from Joe Hansen. His second assist of the game. Just where you score
goals, right? Right from the wall all the time in the NHL. But you can shoot the puck like Eric.
I tell you what, you can score from anywhere. And he gets the open ice. Whether it’s 50 ft
away from the net on a bad angle, it doesn’t matter. Joe Hansen knew where off the draw. Baldi
to the line and that will seal it for Minnesota. The Wild let a twogoal lead get away but then
break the tie with Juel Erikson the winner.

  1. Why would the Ottawa defenceman cough up the puck with 30 seconds left…to the point where two Minnesota players are waiting. How stupid are you to do that? Just hold it in the corner for a bit and get to OT. Ottawa is done this year.
