REPORT: Mets TRADE Rumors | New York Mets | Mets Hot Stove | Mets News | San Diego Padres | MLB News
What’s up Mets fans? Welcome back to the channel. As we get in multiple reports stayed in, including John Haymon, that the New York Mets and the San Diego Padres’s are discussing trade scenarios between multiple players that are not named, Francisco Lindor and Fernando Tatis Jr. That is something that we’ve been hearing about for about a week now in regards to the possibility of Francisco Lindor being traded to the San Diego Padres’s. And we all know about the is the things we’re hearing about Fernando Tatis Jr. But that looks like it’s not going to happen between those two players. But we do know the players from the Padres’s side that are being discussed. We don’t have any information in what the Mets would be giving up in a potential trade package going back to the San Diego Padres’s, but the names are from the San Diego Padres’s are Nick Paveta, Mason Miller, Raone Lauraniano, Adrien Moreno, and Jeremiah Estrada. These are the names that uh that are talked about um between the two teams. We only know the Padres’s names at the moment. And if you’re looking at what the Mets are trying to do here, it is obviously to obtain a starting pitcher in Pava to have a phenom closer in Mason Miller. Obviously, uh Moreno is a very good lefty reliever as well. And of course, other names that will definitely help this New York Mets team going forward. Now, this is a huge possibility for the New York Mets if they can get this done. Obviously, you get a big bullpen arm in Mason Miller. You get a top rotation arm in Nick Pavet who had an outstanding year last year and there was a lot of things that the Mets could do in the free agent and trade market if they can make this trade. And it fills a couple of holes that they need. They just got Jorge Palano. That should sol solidify a bat in a lineup either if he’s going to be the first baseman or the DH. That is something that is yet to be determined on the defensive end. But that is a 25 26 home run bat in the lineup. And if the Mets can, you know, get pitching in this trade alone in the bullpen and the pitch and the starting pitching rotation, then they only have to worry about probably one more bat. And now we’re talking about a roster that is coming together for the 2020 2026 season. Now, I don’t believe that all these players are going to be in a deal. I mean, if it is, that’s a lot of moving parts. I mean, if you’re going to get all these guys that I just mentioned, which I doubt. I think that’s a lot of names to go back in one trade. But if four or five guys are coming coming from the Padres’s to the Mets, how many are getting shipped to San Diego in that deal in a package? That is something that you have to think about when you’re making this trade. It’ll be very interesting to see what names could be in a package going to the San Diego Padres’s. I don’t I mean, it would be a massive a bunch of players going back on either side. Now, what would the Padres’s be looking for? It’s not like they’re sellers. They’re trying to still contend in the NLS and in the National League. So, would they want major league players and prospects combined? That probably makes more sense, right? You know, if they’re giving up multiple bullpen pieces or and a starter, you would think they would probably want a starter in return. Maybe that’s a Kota Sanga or David Peterson or maybe they want Brandon SPRO Jonah Tong and that is something that you just have to look at you know what are their needs in their farm system what are they lacking what do they want in prospectwise that could help their team at the major league level so many different parts do they want Mauricio Vientos Batty Akunia there’s so many different options here the Mets have an abundance of infielders prospect X and Major League Ro on the major league roster. They can’t all play. You just signed Jorge Palano along with trading for Marcus Simeon. You got, let’s say Palano is going to be your first baseman there. And Batty looks like he’s going to be the third baseman. Where’s Ventos playing? DH. Okay, great. He’s the DH. What about Akunia? What about Mauricio? What about Jet Williams? These guys can be expendable. Not saying that you have to trade all those guys or summon them to the Padres’s. We’re not really sure what they’re looking for here, but there’s too many infielders, including just signing Jorge Palano. There is not much room on the infield for prospects or even more proven talent. There isn’t room. There is not room for these guys. And if Raone Lauraniano comes in his deal, he can be either a DH as well or an outfielder. Not a lot of room for a lot of these prospects or a lot of these guys that are currently on the roster, major league roster that has nowhere to play. You can’t sit them all on the bench. That is counterproductive. He it happened last year where the Mets had Mauricio and Akunia basically on the bench all the time, weren’t developing, weren’t getting their at bats, and they were glorified defensive replacements and pinch runners. That is not what you want to do with top prospects in your organization. If that was the only thing you were missing as bench pieces in a championship contending club, fine. But that wasn’t the case. You got to choose from this core of prospects and you have to move some of them. There’s too many infield prospects. None of them can. Not all of them can play. Let’s be honest, guys. How many are really going to play every day? Let’s say Batty and Vientos get the nod. What are you doing with Mauricio Akunia, Jet Williams? We can go on and on and on with all these infielders. It does not make sense. You got to trade some of them. And although by the way, we forget Jeff McNeel is still on this team. You got to start training some of these guys. You got to make a decision on certain prospects or major league young kids that are on your major league roster and make a decision on these guys. You can’t have them in your in your organization and just have them leave them out the dry. It does not make sense. You got to make your best decision and choices of who do you think that is going to help this team shortterm and long term and use the others as assets. That is how you get better. You you you influx the younger players that you have left and you also incorporate the proven talent that you can get in trades. That is how it works. That is how most teams who are contenders constantly do it year after year. The teams that win World Series, the teams that go deep into the playoffs do exactly that. Influx of young talent along with proven talent. That is what the New York Mets have to do. And this trade can at least loosen the burden a little bit of this log jam that we have in the infield. And it makes it a little bit more easier for Mendoza to manage on a day-to-day basis. That was the problem. He didn’t know who to play. One day it’s Ventos Batty, one day it’s Akunia Batty, one day it’s Aunia Ventos. Sometimes Ventos and Akunia just sat there for days after days after days. They could not play. there wasn’t enough room. You don’t want to keep that log jam on the major league roster and make your manager have to deal with that on a day out and day basis. You just don’t need to do that. The roster construction was terrible last year, especially with the infield. make it a little bit more easier for Carl Mendoza to go through the day in day out baseball operations and manager management of the team. It’s make it a little bit easier. And maybe this trade is part of that getting some of that that flux of influx of uh younger players and trade some of them infielders because you have to. You can’t have all these infielders on the roster. It just does not make any roster sense. Let me know in the comments, guys, what you think of these players that can possibly be in the deal for the Padres’s. Again, you would assume that what would go back from the Mets end would be the names I mentioned. Probably a couple of infielders, maybe one of the starting pitchers in Kodi Sanga, David Peterson, a combination of that. You got to get rid of some of these infielders and maybe you throw in a starting pitcher in David Peterson or Kodi Sanga. What do you think of these guys that are named from the Padres’s side coming to the New York Mets? Thank you guys for watching and as always, Met fans, let’s go Mets.

I hope so Rob
I need to see what we're giving up because we still have several holes to fill and you want to use your prospect capital to fill multiple holes. Especially when you have a significant amount of holes on this team. As of right now we are 70 win team
Hopefully we still have a good amount of prospects left to fill those other holes
Mason Miller would be a game changing move.
If we get miller we don't have to worry about Diaz dats for sure
Getting Pivetta, Miller and Laureano sounds good to me. No issue including Mauricio, Acuna, Vientos, Senga and Sproat.
Mason Miller is no joke! The man to close out the Dodgers in short series
As a Padres fan ill take Sproat Acuna and idk who else u guys got
Aj More-en-home(helping rob) is a top tier reliever
More nonsense. Face it next season is a wash. MLB must have a hard salary cap so prepare for a long lock out
Adrian Moreno 🤣
It makes no sense for the Padres to package all those players for mets prospects/young ready mlb players, they could move them all individually for more. That being said, i can see one or two of the guys mentioned being moved to the Mets.
Only want miller
Lindor isn’t going anywhere Rob
Vientos, Sproat, Acuña for Miller & Laureano
if iwant pivetta, laurano, and miller, im giving up mcneil, maurico, senga and sproat.
Might as well get rid of lindor complete the core and McNeil to
Tong Senga Vientos maybe Sproat for Morejon Miller Laureano
Pivetta miller and laureano for mclean tong and vientos should do it
Preller is attaching boegarts contract with a trade to the mets
