Sick as a dog, but we pushed through. We muscled through that stream. Hope y’all had a nice week off. Unfortunately for me, I’ve been recovering the last four days. I don’t know what I had or what’s going around with everybody. A lot of people I know are sick, man. Matter of fact, we’ll get into it in a few minutes. Tyrese Maxi is sick. He’s not playing tonight. So, hope everybody is feeling well out there, man. I still am a little bit congested as you could probably hear. So, I’m not 100% yet. I’m probably at like 90% 85%. But, man, that was frustrating. Good thing they had a couple days off. I definitely would not have been able to do another game this week. So, things work out for a reason, but I still need everybody’s energy in the chat because I’m not at 100% yet. So, that is where we sit, but just wanted to get that out of the way. Let me take a sip of water. get us to 100 likes so we can hit the horn and wake up the neighbors. All right, man. Not a ton to talk about in this pregame show tonight. The reason for that is first off, if you are an Indiana Pacers fan, I do feel bad for you. We live streamed the Pacers Thunder finals last year. Had a lot of fun doing that. Game seven, Tyresese Hallebertton goes down, ruptures his Achilles, and the Pacers decide not to pay Miles Turner. They let him go. Hallebertton’s out for the entire year, and the Pacers have turned into an awful team this year. Now, the Pacers have won four out of their last six games, but let’s be for real, they’re not going to contend this year. They are looking towards next year because as I’ve told you all before, some owners in sports are all about the dollar and the bottom line. And the Pacers decided not to pay Miles Turner so that they wouldn’t go into the luxury tax similar to what Josh Harris does every year because he didn’t want to pay the money. He didn’t want to foot the bill. So the Indiana Pacers now have to suffer and their fans who were so dieh hard who were looking at maybe their first finals ever last year. Obviously they lost but they were close, right? If Hallebertton doesn’t get injured, who knows? And now they have to deal with being bad again. So I say all that to say, appreciate the fact of where your team is at. Even when things aren’t that bright, it could always be like that. It could always be like that. Um, so no Tyresese Hallebertton. The Pacers are not the same without Tyres Hallebertton. Simple as that. They’re just not the same team. Uh, like I said, they have been on a bit of a winning streak. They have won four out of their last six. Now, the good part is that the 76ers have also won four out of their last six. The unfortunate part is that both games that the Sixers lost against Atlanta and LA were with the big three on the floor. The only two games with Maxi, Joel, and PG on the floor. So, I thought we were going to get to see that again tonight. I was getting excited. And then we get the injury report that Tyrese Maxi is not going to play tonight with an illness. So, something is definitely going around right now. Obviously, it sucks not having Maxi. You should still be able to beat the Indiana Pacers without Tyrese Maxi, but now we get to see what Joel Embiid and Paul George can do leading the offense. And we do have the starting five, by the way. And I am kind of upset with it. But here’s the starting five for the 76ers. Let me know if you agree or disagree with it. It is VJ Edgecom, Quinton Grimes, Paul George, Dominic Barlo, and Joel Embiid. That is the starting five for the 76ers tonight. In my personal opinion, I think Jared McCain should be starting at the point guard tonight. He has proven more than capable of it. He has been playing really good minutes. And Nick Nurse seems to not want to unleash Jared McCain, which I put a short out about today and I talked about it on the last postgame show and the last video a couple days ago. Like I said, we dropped videos on the off days. Make sure you hit the notification bell. So, I think Jared McCain should be starting today. I think Grimes should be coming off the bench. But that is just my take on it. Anyway, terms of the 76ers, uh, still no Kelly Ubé, who is still battling the knee injury. Trendan Watford is still out with his adductor injury, adductor. Uh, Tyrese Maxis is out with illness and Joel Embiid and Paul George are good to go. So, it’s going to be a lot slower of an offense tonight. A lot different than what we’re used to. As for the Indiana Pacers, already talked about Hallebertton being out all year. Obie Toppin has been out for a while. He’s out. Uh Aaron N. Smith is out. He’s not playing right now. Ben Shepard is out. Quinton Jackson is out. So, you start to see why the Pacers also are not that good this year. Along with the Hallebertton thing and not paying Miles Turner, not having a quality starting center, they also have had a lot of injuries. The only guy that has played all the games is Pascal Seakkum and he has been playing really well. Seakum is having an all-star season in my opinion. I don’t think he’ll make it because of how bad they are, but 24 and a half points a game for Seakkum. Seven boards, four assists, 1.3 steals a game. Seakum’s been holding it down. Uh Benedict Mathan been has been a nice uh two option, but he hasn’t played all the games either because he was dealing with injur with injury, excuse me. So really, man, they don’t have a lot on the floor. Uh TJ McConnell’s back and playing decent for the Pacers off the bench, but like I said, they don’t have a quality big man. And that brings me to Joel Embiid. Joel Embiid should feast tonight. And I’m going to tell you all right now because I said this on the last postgame show and people still don’t want to hear it. There’s been a lot of rumbling the last couple of days about Joel Embiid. I’m just going to shoot you straight as I always do. Joel Embiid has not looked that good this year. I’m hoping that these last couple of days have given him some good rest. He needs to come out tonight and dominate. We need to see vintage Joel Embiid tonight. Joel Embiid needs to be vintage Embiid tonight because this is the perfect getright game for Joel. He played horrible against the Lakers and if he shot let’s say three more that went in against the Lakers, the Sixers would have beat a really good team. So Joel Embiid has not been playing well. The offense is probably going to run through him a lot tonight. and the Sixers need to get it right. So, this will be a big test for Joel Embiid and Paul George. Uh, what else do I want to say about this game? Not much. Not much. Uh, it’s going to be interesting. The Pacers right now are 19th in the league in defense in terms of defensive rating. Sixers are number 13. In terms of offense, the Pacers are 27th and the Sixers are 16th. So, the Sixers are better than this team. And you don’t really realize how much Hallebertton does. It doesn’t always show up in the box score, but he’s just a guy that glues everything together for them. And he’s a good overall basketball player. And even thinking about this Pacers team the last couple years, like they’ve really just been a team that gets hot at the end of the year. like they never really are great, but they’re really hurting by not having Hallebertton and not having a starting center really. Like honestly, their their big man, I mean, they’ve rotated a bit, but you know, they’re playing Jerus Walker a lot more. They’re playing Isaiah Jackson. They’re playing Quinton Jackson. Uh Jay Huff has been playing. They just don’t really have that guy because their owner did not want to go into the luxury tax. So with that being said, ladies and gentlemen, how do you feel about this game? What do you think is the outcome of this game? How do you think it plays out? Sixers have obviously had what is it? Four days of rest Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Crazy, man. Like I said, I’ve been down for the last several days. I mean, I dropped a video a couple days ago, but I’ve been uh I’ve been down, man. So, I’m getting back in the swing of things now. Like I said, I’m feeling better. Still not 100%. Whatever this bug is has uh really affected me. So, I’m going to need your energy in the chat tonight. But ladies and gentlemen, how do you think this game plays out? We are going to get to your predictions in just one second. We’re going to talk about scores and all that good stuff. But before we do that, we have to go and give a shout out to our great partners of the Sixers game day live show here, and that is Sleeper. Ladies and gentlemen, if you have not checked out Sleeper, you are sleeping on the game. They are your one-stop shop for all your sports needs. You can celebrate sports in real times. All you have to do is pick more or less than the predicted stats. You can make these entries in 30 seconds or less with a $1 minimum entry. It is that easy. It’s like watching a game with inside the game. And on Sleeper, when you use the code Philly take, you’ll get a $100 match on your first deposit up to $100 and you can get up to 1,000 times your payout if your picks win. So, check out the Sleeper app right now. And that is exactly what we are going to do. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s go over here on the Sleeper app. You can make the picks along with me or you can comment in the chat and let me know. But we went what, two for three last game. So, we were close, ladies and gentlemen. Remember how I told you we’re getting closer to that three for three? Well, we got two for three last time. Now we’re going three for three. So, let’s take a look tonight. Joel Embiid. I mean, should we I I don’t know about the minute restriction, man. I’m a little concerned about that. I think Seakum’s going to go over. He’s really been the brunt of their scoring. Could it be a VJ game? Could it be a Jared McCain game off the bench? I really wish Jared McCain was starting in this game. Don’t you? I would feel really good about picking Jared above 12 and a half and I still feel pretty good about it. Not too shy on Grimes. Maybe TJ McConnell. I think TJ might go over eight and a half points. I’m tempted to make a second pick on TJ McConnell. Let’s go over to points, rebounds, and assists. What about Paul George? Could he have a big night? It’s hard to pick, man, but that’s what makes Sleeper so fun. You know what? I think I’m going to go with TJ McConnell on the over. I know it sounds crazy, but McConnell usually plays well against the 76ers. And then I think maybe we’ll go all points today. Maybe we will pick Jared McCain on the over. So, I know I said I’m not going to keep picking the overs, but I’m feeling good about it tonight. Seakum, McCain, and McConnell all on the over. Boom. Easy as that. Type in the code Philly take and voila. Check out Sleeper once again. Use our code Philly take. Get a 100% deposit match up to $100 on Sleeper as well as a free $20 entry right now just by downloading the app. Thank you to Sleeper for partnering on our show all season long. We’ll check back on those a little bit later. All right, ladies and gentlemen. First off, we got 120 people in the live chat already and we’re not at 100 likes yet. We’re not even at 50. Come on, y’all. I need y’all to wake up. I know we’ve been off for a couple days. We got to dust off the switches a little bit, but we’re here. We are back. Let’s go. Let’s go. Ladies and gentlemen, drop your final score predictions in the chat. And drop your leading scorer predictions in the chat. Who is going to win this game? What will the uh leading scorer who will the leading scorer be? And how many points are they going to have tonight? Now, as mad as I am that Tyrese Maxi is not playing. And look, I’m I’m cool with giving Maxi a day off. Shoot, it’s pretty much like a week off for him at this point because he has we haven’t played all week, the Sixers will play on Sunday, by the way, against the Atlanta Hawks and then they will have four more days off because of the NBA Cup. So, like Andre Drummond called it, it’s kind of a mini All-Star break. But this is a great game for the Sixers to have this week. You know, I guess you could say they’ve been off for a few days, so they’re a little bit rusty, but you know, they should be able to get it going. And it’s going to be a real test to see what the Sixers can do without Tyrese Maxi. So, I do think it’s going to be a little closer than we expect because I am not 100% confident based on the minute restrictions. You know, how many how many minutes is Joel Embi going to play? How many minutes is Paul George going to play in this scheme? Those are my real questions. But it’s an opportunity for Joel to shut up a lot of the criticism. So, I am going to say the Sixers do win it in in more of a tighter game. I think it’s going to be 115 to 109. And I am going to pick, believe it or not, I am going to pick Jared McCain to lead this game in scoring. I was going to pick Seakum, but if I go with Seakum, I kind of feel like the Pacers are going to win. Like if Seakum drops like a 40 piece in this game, they might win. So, I just feel like Jared McCain is going to take it a little bit personal that he’s not starting tonight. And I think he’s going to end up earning himself more minutes because maybe Nick Nurse watched our last video. I don’t know. But Jared McCain is not playing enough minutes and he did not play in the third quarter last game, which was ridiculous when the Sixers needed a third third quarter scoring punch. So, I’m going to take Jared McCain to have like one of those sneaky 25 point games. And I think everybody else will struggle. I still think the Sixers win the game, but I think it’s going to be a tight one. So, I’m going to say McCain leads the game in scoring with 25 and the Sixers win it by a final score of 115 to 109. Give me your final predictions in the chat. Let me know your thoughts. Let me get some water here real quick. Let’s go chat. I need your thoughts, your input, your comments. Drop those predictions in the chat. Keep the energy going and keep me going. All right, let’s see. Let’s see. Cool. Like the show and hit the hype. Let’s go. Uh 122 105 Sixers. Embiid with 32. Embiid plays 30 minutes and scores at least 20. Cool J says 104 100 Pacers. McConnell leads the game with 19. That’s a bold prediction. Philly meme says 132 126 Sixers. Busy B says, “My, how times have changed. Joel is playing and we are wondering if we’re going to win because Maxi is not playing.” Isn’t that crazy? Isn’t it crazy how things have changed? Don Bole 109 104 Sixers. Karen Sixers 10698. Beer battered Gummy Sharks says McCain needs to play 40 minutes. Busy Beast is 120 to 113. PG leading scorer. Even Philly paints his 122 105. Uh McCain 26. Embiid for 31. Drummond takes four threepointers. I love it. I love it. Bold takes, baby. A vintage Embiid 40 piece would be nice. It would be very nice. And this is a game where he should do it, but I’m not going to believe it until I see it. Uh, let’s see. 107 101. Embiid with 22. Max, he’s playing. No, he’s not. No, he is not. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time now for the Sixers game day live show. Drop the beat. Let’s go, man. I missed y’all. Let’s go, man. Every game you keep it locked and loaded. Let’s go, man. I want to see how the two of them look because this is the first time they’re going to be playing without Tyrese Maxi, you know. So, we’ll see. We will see. All right. Uh where we at? 81 likes. We’re not at 100 yet. What’s going on, ladies and gentlemen? What’s going on, ladies and gents? Let’s go, man. Dropped the video a couple days ago. Been dropping a ton of shorts on our Instagram and Tik Tok and all that. Follow us everywhere, man. Sixer starting lineup tonight once again. BJ Edgecomb, Quinton Grimes, Paul George, Dominic Barlo, and Joel Embiid. Let me get this Pacers starting lineup here as well in one second. Pacers starting lineup is Andrew Nemhard, Ethan Thompson, Benedict Mathan, Pascal Seakum, and Jay Huff. I’ll never forget the Jay Huff game against the Sixers. What was that last year? the year before guy dropped like eight threes in 10 minutes. Crazy. It’s like the most random guys like Jay Huff that will just start cooking the Sixers. Ethan Thompson is a two-way player. So, he is up with the Pacers undrafted back in 2021. Finally made it up to the NBA level with all the Pacers injuries. So, see how this guy Ethan Thompson looks. He has played four games this season. He’s only uh started one. It’s averaging 4.8 points per game. Let’s go, man. Even more pierces like the show. CoolJ says spike the likes. Weird not seeing Maxi. It’s going to be very weird, man. This is one of those games where Maxi would drop like 62, but he’s not here tonight. He’s dealing with what everybody’s dealing with. Let’s go. Pacers are 1 and 10 on the road. Yes, they are. Now, I said the Pacers have won four out of their last six games. Those wins have come against the following teams. Uh, let’s see. The Where is it at? Just had it up. Those wins have come against the Wizards, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bulls again, man, the Bulls really fell off, and the Sacramento Kings. So, those four wins have come against teams, granted, that are not that good. So, it’s not like the Pacers are beating the best teams in the league, but like I said, they’re just in a tough spot. But, they did start the year two and 16, and now they’re uh six and 18. So, we will see what happens, man. But welcome into the Sixers game day live show where we do it every single game, pregame, live game, and postgame. Take your phone calls after the game. We’ll break it all down. Uh, let’s see. On the hoodie, are the words on the front or the back? They’re on the front. They’re on the front. Let’s go. Charles says, “Great night all on the live stream broadcast.” What’s up, Charles? We have Marsha McCollum dropping the emojis. Let’s go, man. Karen says, “94 likes get us to 100.” We’re at 96. We need four more. Who’s it going to be? No. Tyrese Maxi tonight with an illness. UB and Watford still out. Hallebertton, Nith, Toppin, and Shepard out for the Pacers. Let’s go. Get us to 100 likes so we can hit the Yes, sir. Introducing the No, we don’t want your commercial on our live stream. No. All right, let’s go ahead and let’s get some of this stuff up. All right, where we at? Where are we at? What in the world? Oh, we’re on the wrong one. That’s why. There we go. This is why I need a producer, man. All right, so the first shot was missed by the Pacers and Paul George going to knock it down to begin for Philly. Sixers rocking the black jerseys. Pacers rocking the yellow. Here’s a jumper from Seakum. That one is too far. No Tyrese Maxi tonight. Here’s Joel down in the block. It was poked away by Nemhard. Got to watch out for him. Threeon two. Math into the corner. Here’s Thompson for three. And it’s money. Ethan Thompson knocks down the first three for the Pacers. Here is Quentyn Grimes going to find Joel Embiid. Joel in the mid. He’s going to find Barlo from the corner. That shot looked ugly and it is off the mark. Here come the Indiana Pacers. Nemhar to Mathan guarded by VJ goes up off one foot. He got it to go. They’re going to say it does not count. He just launched it high up into the air with one hand, but it’s going to be a foul on the floor against VJ Edgecom. All right, let’s get this up. Try to get this situated. Here’s Nemhard going to drive. kick it out. Here come the Sixers. PG oops it up. Barlo slams it down on the receiving end of the alioop. Here is Seakkum guarded by Quinton Grimes. Seakum to Huff. Huff going to turn, spin, pull up a three. It’s short. Here come the 76ers. VJ from the wing steps into it. Cha-ching. Sixers with a quick seven. BJ rocking the headband. Looking like Jimmy Buckets out here. Here’s Nemhard kicks it over to Seakum. The pump fake, the dribble, the drive. He turns, he spins. Jay Huff sideep. Now Seakum pump fakes through the legs. Seakum pulls it up and he can’t get it to go. Paul George pulls it in. And here come the 76ers. PG one-on-one isoing Nemhard. Here comes VJ Edgecomb working against Mathan. BJ with the right hand finds Joel. Joel pulls up the mid-range and hits. First one of the game out of Joel Embi Nemhard looking scanning finds Seakum. Seakum to Huff. Huff down low goes up and it was blocked. Here come the 76ers. Grimes and bead andbi PG Barlo Barlo Grimes Embiid the ball movement VJ from the corner got it. Wow, what a play by the 76ers. I think it was about five passes around the perimeter and it ends in a VJ Edgecomb three. He’s now up to 10 points in the first quarter. Seakum kicks out to Thompson. They just made a couple substitutions as well. VJ in transition. A three. Can’t get it to go. See, this is what I want to see from VJ, man. Even when everybody else is on the floor, he should be playing like this. Here’s the floater from Indiana. Thompson missed it and Jackson put it back. That’s Isaiah Jackson in for the first time for Indiana. Johnny Fury in for the Pacers as well. Paul George a three. That’s money. So Paul George is now up to eight points in seven minutes. McCain going to turn and spin. Finds Embiid one-on-one. Embiid against Jackson. He goes to the rim and he’s fouled. Joel to the free throw line for two. So in for the Pacers, Johnny Fury, Jarus Walker, Isaiah Jackson, Benedict Mathan, and Andrew Nemhard. So, uh, Isaiah Jackson did not start this game. Neither did Walker and neither did Johnny Fury, which I’m a little surprised about. Fury was actually a second round pick. Early second, my bad. Uh Jarus Walker was a former first round pick. Wasn’t really playing a lot. Started to play a bit last year, but uh you know, he’s been the guy this year. It’s been okay. We have 300 people in the live chat. McCain for three. can’t get it to fall. Five-point game. You know, I love me some TJ McConnell, man. There he goes flying down the rim. He turns. He kicks it back. He had a crazy NBA Finals performance against OKC. Essentially carried the team in that game seven when Albertton went out. Had a couple big fourth quarters in that series. Played his butt off, man. So happy for TJ McConnell. He is the epitome of every guy in the world who may be too small, may not have enough tangibles, but has the heart of a lion. TJ McConnell is an absolute dog, man. I dropped that video and a couple people, you know, were were commenting saying, “Yo, you’re just a click baiter.” But the problem is people don’t really listen to stuff nowadays. They just see and they believe and they just boom. They make their assumptions. But like you guys have to actually listen, you know? Like the first line of that video, I said this is a thing where somebody or at least mo numerous people honestly it was about at least six asked me should the Sixers trade for Giannis. So I said okay I’m going to make a video about whether or not the Sixers should trade for Giannis. And then people are like oh you’re click baiting they’re not trading for Giannis. I’m like I never said they were trading for Giannis. People don’t listen man. They don’t. But anyway, Sixers don’t need any more injuryprone players, man. They don’t need any more injuryprone players. So, let’s see. three ball from Indiana and that one goes from Garrison Matthews. BJ Edgecom going to find Jared McCain. Two-point game. Here’s Jabari Walker up top to Justin Edwards who’s in for the first time along with Andre Drummond. VJ drives, floats it up and in. VJ Edgecom continues his impressive start to this game. TJ McConnell coming around a screen, pulls it up, left it short. Drummond took it off the rim too early. It’s going to be a interference or a goend. Let’s go. 380 people in the chat. get us to the 200o. Let’s go, chat. Karen says, “People don’t listen, man.” You’re so right, Army. It’s really wild. And I would inform you all just as educated people to make sure you back up what you’re reading or listening to. I have never clickbaited. I never will. McCain for three. There will always be haters. That’s a fact. That is a fact. Never worry about the haters. We’re going to keep dropping all that content and more. Sixers shooting 55% from the field in this first quarter. Here’s McConnell from the baseline again. Left it short. Druming the rebound. rocking the pink sneaks tonight. Here comes Jared McCain going to find Drummond. Dribble handoff. VJ going to dribble, drive, lay it up and in. BJ Edgecom has 14 points here in the first quarter. Let’s go, man. Yo, all my channel members, I want to see y’all dropping the emojis, man. Drop the VJ emojis in the chat. I want to see everybody. Two for two at the line. Let’s go. Both good for Walker. He’s now three of four at the line. Sixers trivia coming up at the end of the first here. TJ McConnell going to find Jackson. Here’s Seaka three. Missed it by everything. That means it is officially time for our Sixers Scholars trivia question presented by our great partners over at National University. Check out NU and all of their flexible online curriculums and degrees. All right, y’all know how it works, man. Going to put the question in the chat. First person to get it right is going to hear this sound. Whoever gets the most points right at the end of the season wins a prize. No guessing more than once. If you do that, you’ll be banished from trivia. And also, I’m I’m starting to consider not even putting the question in the chat cuz I feel like people are like copying it and trying to look it up, even though some of these you can’t cuz I’ve looked them up and made them myself. But, you know, it’s kind of tough because some people are at different points. So, that’s where it gets a little tricky. But, let me know what you think. Should we keep putting the question in the chat? I don’t know. But anyway, we’re going to put it in the chat tonight so everybody will see it at the same time. Let’s see what our leaderboard is looking like now. Let’s go give Bange a point. We have some news to announce here as it looks like Ban has now taken the trivia lead. Our boy Cable had the lead for a while with three and he has now been leaped by Bange as Jabari Walker goes two of two at the line. Bange now up to four trivia wins on the season. He is now in first place. Bunch of threes though. A lot of people right on his tail. Here’s TJ McConnell guarded by Quinton Grimes. McConnell who started cooking at the end of that first quarter. Thompson back to McConnell wide open for three. Chuch-ching. Had to play the chuch-ching for McConnell because like I said, this guy always goes off against Philly. Always goes off against Philly, man. Here’s Andre Drummond cutting to the rim. Drummond against McConnell. Kicks out to Walker. Walker barrels into McConnell. Lays it in, but they’re going to call an offensive foul on Jabari Walker. So, it will not count. John says, “The music hits hard, bro. Here they come. VJ is balling. Never forget the James Harden free agency coverage.” Never forget it, man. Never forget it. Or the James Harden live stream when he got traded at 2 in the morning. Ban, congratulations, man. We know it’s coming down to the fourth quarter, man. We know it’s coming down to the fourth quarter, man. We already know that. I don’t have to tell you anymore. And TJ McConnell once again. I mean, how many times do I have to be right about this? Here’s Seakum. Pulls it up mid-range. It’s short. How many times do I have to be right about TJ McConnell? I think I’ve made a video about it like five times over the last four years about how valuable he is. There’s people that will say T.J. McConnell is not a good basketball player. The guy is insane. Paula George step back mid-range. No good. Pacers have it again. It’s Garrison Matthews, TJ McConnell, Jay Huff, Pascal Seakum, and Ethan Thompson. Here’s McConnell again. He drives a mid-range shot. It goes again. And one. And one. Timothy John McConnell. Timothy John. And I know people don’t want to have this conversation right now and I’m gonna say it because that’s what I do. But there’s something really wrong with Joel Embiid. And I don’t even think it’s like, oh, we need to pinpoint it right here. Joel Embiid is not the same player. This is a game in the past where Joel Embiid would drop 50 points. Do you agree or disagree? Because I remember MVP Embiid, he would have 30 plus in the first half. I’m just being honest, man. Joel Embiid only has three shot attempts in this game. He only has one rebound. So I think the Sixers challenge it and I think it’s going to be unsuccessful if I’m seeing this correctly here. They call Oh, so they called the foul on Paul George on like it wasn’t even against McConnell. moves Paul George away from the ball who elbowed Jay Huff. 823 to go here in the second. Drummond remains in. Here’s Quinton Grimes. Paul George a contested three. Nice shot by Paul George, man. He’s on fire. Nice shot, PG. He’s got three triples here in the first half. Dude, Paul George is doing his thing right now. TJ McConnell going to cross over, drive, kick it out. Jay Huff. Jay Huff for three. That one is off. Quinton Grimes going to step back mid-range and he left it short. McConnell got it poked away. Nice play by Jared McCain who takes it the length of the court. McCain gave him a little bump, took it away and went right into the rack. Kane, like I said, he’s playing with a little chip on his shoulder. Man, here’s Nemhard. Kicks it up to Huff. Huff steps into a three. It’s short. Jared McCain lost it up the other end of the floor and it’s going to be a turnover into the back court. You wouldn’t be the same player either after four surgeries and not playing ball in seven months. Yeah. So basically what I’ve been saying all year, right? So basically what I’ve been saying all season where at the beginning of the year people were calling me a hater. Basically people were calling me a hater at the beginning of the season because I said that Joel Embiid doesn’t look the same and they should run the offense through the guards. Andrew Nemhar going to drive downhill. turns, he spins, he finds Thompson. Now Nemhard Nemhard in the paint, pushes off Embiid. Steps back and can’t get it to go. Joel with the rebound. Mathan and VJ plucks him from behind. VJ driving the length of the floor and he is fouled down the other end. EJ Edgecom nice steel and a nice lay on the other end. This has to be the last draw for Daryl my PJ and just trade them for the bag of chips. You can’t trade them though. That’s the thing, man. The unfortunate part is that the Embiid extension doesn’t even kick in till after this season right now. It’s not looking that good, man, for that contract. You know what’s weird, ladies and gentlemen? And first off, shout out to everybody in here. 420 people in the chat. Like the show. Get us to 200. We’re 25 away and we are 320 subs away from 50K. Nehard coming around a high screen. He drives into the paint. Kicks out to the corner. Three ball from Walker that goes back to a one-point game. Halfway through quarter number two. Here’s VJ Edgecom guarded by Andrew Nemhard. BJ gives and goes. Here’s Joel Embiid. Embiid pops up a three. It’s short again. Joel settling for a lot of threes in this scheme. Here’s a three ball from VJ. I’m sorry, not from VJ. From uh from Thompson on VJ. Here’s Matan Walker. Thompson Nemhard down in the paint. Floats it up. Got it. And one. Foul is going to be on Justin Edwards. Let’s go, guys. Like the show. Hit the like. Get us to 200. You know what’s really weird, man? Is like, so we’re having these internet dips and I’m trying to figure out what it is cuz it’s not on Mayan. Wild. 518 to go here in the second. Two-point lead for Indiana. Here’s Joel one-on-one against Jackson. He pushes him off. Steps back for two. Got it. Nice play by Joel Embiid. 505 to go here in the second. Jackson going to dump it off to Matan. Mathan goes into the paint. Floats it up short. Jackson lost it short again. Puts it up. Another rebound by Indiana. And it’s going to be going the other way. Actually, they’re going to say it stays with Indiana. Nurse can’t believe it. Joel’s saying to review it. Mathan saying to review it. I don’t know what they just called. Looks like it went out on Indiana in my opinion. Here’s VJ Edgecom guarded by Andrew Nemhard. VJ going to find Joel. No challenge on the floor. Here’s Joel in against two. Steps back. Got it off one foot. Nice play by Joel, man. Let’s go, man. 420 to play here in the first half. Thompson Nemhard behind the back. Here’s Jackson. Dribbles in, drives, lays it up, can’t get it. Edwards driving up the floor. He goes all the way. Blocked on the other end. VJ somehow scoops it up. Barlo. Embiid. Embiid against Jackson. He’s found. And Embiid hits the ground. So, just as I started talking about Embiid, he’s looking a bit better right now. Joel Embiid finally finding some aggression here in the second quarter. It’s what I’ve been waiting to see, man. What I’ve been waiting to see, man. $2 super chat Philly for life. He says, “What’s up with Ed? Had that one game and then nothing.” RB, he had a couple good games and then I don’t know. He just It’s what he is right now, you know he’s an on and off type of player. Beer battered gummy shark says it’s almost like Embiid would prefer to land on his body rather than have 300 lb and gravity slamming energy through his knees and meniscus. Let’s go. Joel going to miss the first free throw. See, man, how every time we get that engagement going, people start flying into the chat. Most career points per game versus the Pacers all time. Look at that. Joel Embiid number one. That would have been a great trivia question. 255 to go here in the first half. Sixers lead it by four. Nemhard to Jay Huff. Here’s Matan around his screen. pulls up mid-range. Got it to go. Can we at least get to 300 likes before the first half ends? 230 to play here in the first half. VJ Edgecomb working against Andrew Nemhard. Here’s Edwards around his screen. He drives, he spins, he kicks, and bead steps back for three. left it a bit short. Nemhard against VJ. Here’s Benedict Matin against Quinton Grimes around a screen. Mathan missed the Jay from the mid-range. Three ball from VJ. It’s good. 3J. He’s on fire. How about 3J with an unbelievable first half. He’s been amazing. He’s been amazing. Nine two run. We have a foul on Philly off the ball. It’s going to be on Barlo. EJ Edgecom 18 points right now on six of seven from the field. I don’t know why he hasn’t been shooting the ball a lot here in the second. I know he was out for a bit, but he should be shooting the ball more. He’s got three triples in the first half. Here’s a three ball from Huff. And that one goes. I don’t know how they’re letting this guy Jay Huff shoot the way he is right now. Joel going to pull up the mid-range. Got it again. Nice shot by Joel Embiid. Embiid up to 14 on the night. Just over a minute to play here in the first half. It’s Nemhard going downhill against Embiid. Reverse with the left. No can do. Grimes the board. VJ for three. Left it a tad short. Grimes the rebound. Threw it off the rim. He tried to find Barlo. And now Grimes steals it back. Barlo. Grimes for three. Short again. History repeated itself there. And it’s a four-point ball game with 40 seconds to go here in the first half. Who is Jay Huff? If you don’t remember Jay Huff, he’s a random guy who cooked the Sixers. I think it was last year for the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s now in Indiana. And Andrew Nemhard going to knock down a two there. So once again, ladies and gentlemen, drop the cardiac in the chat. Joel against Jay Huff. He’s fouled. Joel to the line. Look, man. 400 people in the chat. All I’m asking is that we get this to 300 likes so we can push it again through the algorithm. So, hit the thumbs up, subscribe to the channel. Let’s go. Let’s go. Don Bole in the chat says, “Grimes pissing me off.” Shout out to the members. Shout out to the mods. Thank you for being here. Joel going to knock down the free throw. Make sure you support us on all social platforms. I’m going to keep dropping these links here in the chat. Mods, you know what to do. Second one at the line for Joel and it goes. So, it is a four-point ball game. Joelle now six of eight at the free throw line. 15th cardiac of the year says Mr. Scum. Yo, it’s cardiac every game, man. Every game. Seakum against Barlo through the legs. Pull up. Jay, rolled around and fell in. You already know this is going down to the final minute of the game. Joel step back three over Jay Huff. What a shot by Joel Embiid. Oh my gosh. Oh my Yo, that just gave me vintage and bead vibes, man. That just gave me vintage and bead vibes. I’m not even going to lie to y’all, man. I can’t believe I’m saying that right now. Wow. Wow. I don’t know how to feel about this team. I don’t know how to feel about Joel Embiid. I don’t know how to feel about anybody. But what I do know is that Joel Embiid just posted his best first half of the season. And after I made a comment about him in the second quarter, he absolutely started cooking. So, I’m going to give myself just the 1% credit of that. But shout out to Joel Embiid, man. Drop the Embiid emojis in the chat. Let’s go. Ladies and gentlemen, it is officially halftime here on the Sixers game day live show presented by National University. We’re going to talk about this game. We’re going to talk about the box score, what we have seen so far. Quick recap before we get into the cardiac of the second half. Here’s what I need from everybody in the chat. You know what time it is. Drop one word, one word in the chat to describe this game so far. How do you feel about this game? If you could sum it up in one word only, what would it be? Find out super chat. Philly for life says, “I haven’t seen Embiid run that fast or drive that hard in two years. Like I said, it’s early in the game and he hasn’t played a lot of minutes, but I like it. I mean, that was a positive sign from Joel Embiid for sure. Paul George looked really good. We’ll get to him, but I agree, man. If Joel can play like that, I mean, I’m happy. I’m happy. It’s crazy cuz in the first quarter, he did nothing just like the old Embiid would do. like he would just have these quarters where he just was idle and then he would come out of nowhere like he did in the second quarter and he would start cooking everybody. Honestly, I was more so focused on how he was moving around than his game and then all of a sudden boom boom boom he’s got 19 points. I like it. Fredo Ashtray $2 super chat says Joel looks much better tonight but he also had five days of rest. Another good point. Another good point. All right, man. Give us your thoughts in the chat about Joel Embiid. Drop one word to describe this game and uh be sure to call in after the game with your thoughts about Joel Embiid, Paul George, and more. My one word of the game, I think I’m going to use the word that I just said a few seconds ago, vintage. And here’s why I think it’s vintage. Number one, Joel Embiid just showed a flash of vintage Embiid finally. VJ Edgecomb showed signs of vintage. And I know he’s a rookie, but I feel like the Sixers in a way, you know, used to always have that type of guy, at least early in this year, you know, that was moving around well, that was knocking down shots, that was flying by the defense. Honestly, it was VJ early in the year. So, I feel like that’s vintage. And it’s also vintage because the Indiana Pacers have a couple of guys that should not be scoring the way that they are that are absolutely cooking the Sixers. And some of them, people don’t even know who they are in the likes of Jay Huff and Ethan Thompson and players like that. It’s not even Pascal Seakum. It’s Jay Huff and Ethan Thompson and TJ McConnell. So, I’m gonna say my word of the half is vintage. That’s what it reminds me of. But what do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts in the chat. What is your one word? Let’s see. Uh, Embiid. Embeast. Embiid. We got a lot of Embiids in the chat. Promising process, specifics, proficiency. Uh, what else? Vintage. Matching my word out here. Uh, bipolar. Rest. Good words, man. Rumbling. Rumble. What else? M3. I like that. I like that. Someone said, “Corporate B Pump. Where you at?” B Pump. APB out for B pump, man. Where’s he at? Where’s he at? Ladies and gentlemen, get us up to 300 likes right now. Like the show, subscribe to the show. Shout out to everybody in the chat. Great words. Um, yeah, man. That second quarter was very, very promising. very promising in the second quarter. So anyway, we will get back to a few more words and we will talk about this game, but before we do that, we got to go check out our picks over on Sleeper. Once again, this show is powered by the Sleeper app. Got to check them out. Make sure you use code Philly take. Get a 100% match on your first deposit up to $100 by using the Sleeper app. And speaking of promising, let’s go ahead and look at our picks. Cuz I’ll tell you what, man. I should have picked VJ Edgecomb. I was leaning towards it, but I ended up going with McConnell, Seakum, and Jared McCain. Here are the picks that I made before the game. TJ McConnell over eight and a half. Guess what? He’s already over that. I knew he was going way over that. 13 points for TJ McConnell in the first half. just continues to be an absolute menace against the 76ers. Seakum only with six points in the first half. That one’s looking a bit risky. And I thought he might be the guy that dropped 30 tonight. So very surprising. 23 and a half. We’ll see if he can get there. And Jared McCain, we had over 12. He is currently at five off the bench for the Sixers. So that one also up in the air as well. Once again, check out Sleeper. download the app and get a free $20 entry over on the Sleeper app just by sign signing up and downloading the app. We will revisit in the post game. Shout out to Sleeper, man. It’s like a game with inside a game. Check it out. All right, what else do we want to say about this game? Uh VJ Edgecomb is playing incredible. I’ve been waiting to see this kind of game from VJ Edgecomb. I don’t know why he hasn’t had this aggressive mentality with the other players on the floor. Maybe VJ just got enough, you know, sleep and rest and now he’s energized again. I’m going to assume that’s part of it. But VJ Edgecom had 14 points in the first quarter. He finishes with 18 three and three at halftime, excuse me, with two steals. So VJ Edgecom playing an all-around game. He’s got three triples in this game. You have Paul George who has 11 points in 15 minutes, six boards, three assists. I feel like Paul George is doing exactly what we want him to. I feel like he’s playing great defense. I have been thoroughly impressed with Paul George in this game and the last couple of games as well. Um, Joel Embiid, as we’ve talked about for the last five minutes here, has been incredible in that second quarter. Joel Embiid came out in the first quarter of this game. Hold on, let me let me make sure I got this right here. I don’t want to say anything that’s wrong because, you know, people like to fact check me in the chat. Let’s see. Uh, how many points did Joelle have in the first Joel Embiid had four points on three shot attempts in the first quarter and then in the second quarter he had 15 points on five of seven with four of six at the free throw line. So Joel Embiid really emerged in that second quarter and it just reminded me a lot of the old Embiid, you know, putting his head down, driving his shoulder into the defender, either getting a foul or finishing strong at the rim. And it’s crazy. And I don’t want to say, you know, that I have a jinx or every time I say something, it goes the other way. But as soon as I called out Joel Embiid and said he’s not looking the same. As soon as I said that, he goes on a 15-point run, that is what the old Embiid used to do. He would go off for a stretch of minutes and you’re like, man, this guy can’t be stopped. Now again, let’s keep the competition in mind because they’re going up against a Pacers team that doesn’t have a good center. Jay Huff is not that good defensively at least. But Joel is taking care of business. And this is exactly what I want to see tonight out of Joel Embiid. 19 points, two boards, two assists, and he’s six of 10 from the field. I do want to see those boards up a little bit. But um but yeah, Paul George, six rebounds, Barlo with four, VJ with three. I like it, man. I like it. Uh what else do I want to say? Jabari Walker, a good seven minutes off the bench, six points, two rebounds. Edwards nothing in nine minutes. Drummond nothing in 8 minutes. And McCain five points. He had a nice steal which led to an easy bucket in transition in 11 minutes. So, that’s what I want to see, man. That’s what I want to see. Let’s look at the team stats here and then we will break. Uh, both teams shooting above 40% from three. Sixers out rebounding them by five. Pacers are playing a decent game though, only four turnovers. Let’s see. Sixers have turned it over eight times, but only given up eight points off of the turnovers, which is pretty good. Um, 11 points in the break. So, I like that. Yeah, I like that. Overall, pretty good game so far. I feel like the Sixers should be beating this team by more by by now. But, you know, just like the Sixers do every game, it has to be Cardiac. So, that’s what they do. That’s where we’re at. Let’s see what the chat is saying. Um, I believe McCain will surpass Grimes in minutes by midseason. Somebody dropped a cap in the chat. I don’t know what the cap’s about. You know what’s cap is that we have 400 people in here and we can’t get to 300 likes. That’s what cap is. Alex says, “You were counting Embiid out.” See, this is where I stopped reading the chat, man. This is where I stopped reading the chat. We’re not going to do that, man. We’re not going to do that every time Joel Embiid has a good quarter. Not going to do it, man. But then again, that’s on me. I just saw the comment, but I can’t reply to the 12y olds in the chat. Uh, I analyze the basketball team. I tell you what happens every game, good, bad, or in between. Joel Embiid had a great quarter. He has not had that good of a season so far. Needs to keep it up. Simple as that. As simple as that. But that’s my bad. I shouldn’t have even read the comment. Maxi is hurting the Sixers. Yep. Well, that’s where I stopped reading the chat, man. That’s where I stopped reading the chat. Um, oh man. Beer battered gummy shark says, “I have a mission. Next time I go home where I played ball, I want to track down scorebooks and find standout games. Only have scoring stats. Would be cool to see my career.” Sometimes I’m like, where is this chat going, man? That’s the beauty of this community, man. It’s like, where where’s it going, man? Where where is it going? I love it. I love it. Oh man, look how good Embiid is. M Embiid is playing with Maxi on the Pine. Give me a break, brother. Come on, bro. Come on. They’re playing one of the worst teams in the NBA, bro. They should be doing this. This is what they should be doing. Question is, how many minutes are they going to play? How many minutes is Joel Embiid and Paul George going to play tonight? Can they play more than 30? We’ll see. We’ll see. All right, man. can’t talk smack on Maxi. Somebody has a man crush. Or maybe it’s the fact that Tyrese Maxi is third in the league in scoring. I mean, you guys you guys can’t be this stupid, right? You guys can’t be this stupid. I’m serious. It’s just it’s just how it goes, man. I got to stop reading the comments, but like, come on, guys. Have some sense, bro. have some sense. All right, man. We’ll be back in just a moment. Don’t go anywhere. Sixers game day live show. Be right back. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Heat. Heat. All right, man. We are back. Sorry about that. It was a quick halftime. Here’s Jay Huff for three. That one is short. So, let’s see. What did we miss? Missed a minute of game action. Here’s Joel Embiid going downhill. Turns, spins, floats it up. Couldn’t get it off the window. But a foul on Indiana. I got caught up with the uh with the people being dumb in the chat. My bad. I got to ignore it though. So, let’s see what happened here in this third quarter. So far, we had a three-pointer from Andrew Nemhard. Joel with a driving layup. Joel now at the free throw line. Misses the first free throw. Let’s go chat. Like the show. Subscribe to the show. Welcome on in. Sixers lead by five. Here’s Benedict. Mathan guarded by PG. Mathan. Crossover drive and kick. Seakum from the wing. Dribbles all the way into the paint. Turn. Spins. Paul George poked it away. Yo, Paul George is playing really well, man. Especially defensively. Here’s Joelle. Steps into a three. Left it a tad short. Five-point game. Here’s Matan going to cross over. Mathan against Barlo. Finds Nemhard. Here is Thompson now. Seakum the double team from the weak side. Here’s Mathan. the sideep three and he airballed it. Got a little bit of the net. Here’s Paul George working against Seakum. Joel sets. Here’s Grimes. Grimes to Embiid. Embiid for three. Cha-ching. Yes, sir. Is Joel Embiid back, man? Is he back? Is he back, man? Joel Embiid is absolutely cooking right now, man. Joel Embiid is absolutely cooking right now, man. Wow. Drop the Embiid emojis in the freaking chat, man. I know they’re playing up against the bad team that has no good center, but for the first time this season, and yes, I am allowed to say whatever the heck I want, and that’s what I’ll continue to do because I analyze every game as it happens, one game individually. But for the first time this season, Joel Embiid looks like the old Joel Embiid. I love the way he’s attacking the floor. I love the way he’s dribble driving. He’s starting to hit some threes, which is nice. He’s only two of seven, but at least he hit a couple. But I like how he’s getting to the free throw line. Like, this is what the old Jombb did. This is what the old Jombb did. Now I hope he can play. You know, he’s at 19 minutes. I don’t know. He might get to like they might cap him at 30, but we’ll see. We will see. $2 super chat. Don Bole says he is back for tonight. Excuse me, guys. I’m still grinding through the sickness, man. So like the damn stream for us, man. Welcome on in. All right, Clarence, you gotta go, bro. One too many idiotic takes. See you later, buddy. See you later. Bad enough. Bad enough. Uh Don Bole says he’s back for tonight. I like it. Got to start somewhere, right? Bam. All right, I’m not I’m not going to read the chat till I hit 300, man, because my freaking throat is killing me right now. Let’s go, man. Guys, look, all I ask is that you be fair in the chat. Don’t disrespect people. Don’t disrespect me. If you do, you’re going to get timed out or you say something idiotic. I don’t know why TJ McConnell is not in for Indiana right now. They’re underplaying him. Nemhard the step back too. Can’t get it to go. Three minutes into this third. Paul George working driving. Kicks it. Grimes from the corner. It’s good. Let’s go Quinton. Let’s go Q dot. And then the Pacers are going to answer with a three of their own. That cuts it down to an eight-point game. BJ Edgecom to Joel. The no look. Barlo slams it down. See that? When Joel Embiid is playing well, that is the perfect scenario for Barlo right there. All the attention gets driven to Embiid. He finds a no look pass to Barlo. Here’s a three from Matin. Wow, what a shot. Pacers are not going down easy and I don’t expect them to. One thing about the Pacers, no matter who’s on the floor, they’re going to play their hearts out. Joel’s wide open. Yo, Jay Huff don’t know what to do. And then he blocks. He blocked him. How did he get to that? Here’s a three from Matan. No good. Matine trying to save it and he goes crashing into the bench. My guy Jay Huff was like, he was like turning around. Didn’t know what to do. That’s wild, man. AJ says, “I love you. I will always respect you.” Thank you, man. Guys, get us to 300 likes, man, for the grind. And you know what? Let’s get some hype going in the chat. Drop those hype points and let’s see who the MVPs of the chat are. Here’s Joel Embiid again against Jay Huff. Can’t get it to drop that time. MVPs of the chat. Who can comment the most in the next 60 seconds? Let’s go. Drop some comments. Get the engagement up. Let’s award an MVP of the chat. Seakum turns, fades, got it off a foot, and all of a sudden it’s a five-point game. Can the 76ers avoid the third quarter collapse and curse? BJ to Paul George. Pacers are rocking his own defense right now. And Joel draws another foul. So the Sixers get Embiid back to the line. It’s been a very close third quarter so far. mods. Make sure you guys remind people to like and interact with the show so we can get it through the algorithm. Joel, first one good at the line. He’s got 26. One more coming up here for Joelle and he’s going to knock it down. So he is at 27 points. Seakkum going to drive and kick. Here’s Thompson for three. No good. Mathan chasing it down. Goes out of bounds. All right, no more spamming in the chat. See who our MVPs are, man. I see uh Marshia McCollum in the chat, Dom Bole, AJ. Who else? John Monroe, let’s go, man. Busy B. Like the show, man. 30 in the chat. Seian knocks down the first. Joel Embiid has 30 points. is absolutely dominating Jay Huff. Let’s go, man. Shout out Joel. Pacers missed the second free throw, but they get the ball back. Seakum the crossover. He pulls up a three. That one does not go. It is a nine-point lead for the Sixers. Joel kicks to Barlo. Barlo the drive and he is stuffed by Jay Huff, but Embiid picks it back up. Here’s a double team. Grimes into the paint. Kicks it back to Barlo from the corner. A three. It’s out. Lead is still single digits. Halfway through the third. Matthews going to drive. Kick it out. And he was fouled by Dominic Barlo and route to the basket. Man, this is beautiful basketball that we are seeing from Joel Embiid right now. Wow. Oh, wow. And we have another foul. It’s going to be on Jared McCain. Busy B says, “I remember when Joelle would have 30 every night.” Good times, man. Throwing it back tonight. Vintage, like I said, at halftime. This is vintage Joel. Here’s Andrew Nemhard. Matthews Nemhard dribbles, drives to the rim, goes up and lays it in with the left hand. Now, obviously, again, it’s going to be interesting to see how his body responds, you know, even on Sunday against the Hawks. But, you know, this is nice. Joel leans in against Huff. Got another foul. See, Joel knows how to manipulate the game. Joel Embiid is going to the free throw line again. This guy Jay Huff is taking a beating, man. He cannot defend. He couldn’t defend a 10-year-old right now. Listen, man. We all want to see Joel play at this level. First one is good. If Joel plays at this level and Paul George plays at this level, Sixers can win the East, man. That’s how wide open it is. But they have to keep playing like this, man. I’m really happy for Joel to see him playing this way. Anybody that has been watching this channel for a long time knows how big I’ve been on Joel, man. And I’ve always backed him. Never blamed him personally, man. It’s just his, you know, well, I did blame him personally last year when he got called out by Maxi, but um, you know, just in terms of his body, you know, he’s he’s put everything on the line for this franchise. So, there’s Garrison Matthews for three, hits another one, and all of a sudden, it’s a five-point game. So, the Sixers have to wake up, man. Here’s Joel Embiid at the top going to find Quinton Grimes. Grimes guarded by Mathan. Grimes dribbling downhill finds Embiid again. Lays it up high off the glass and in. Give him 33. Come on. Joelle is cooking. Matthews Nemhard around a screen steps back and Joel blocks it off the backboard. It’s going to be a goalend though. Got it a second too late. Holy smokes, man. Holy smokes. 449 to go here in the third. The question is how many minutes will Joel Embiid play? Joel jabbing, dribbling, steps back. Joel again, five on the shot clock. Here’s Quinton Grimes. Grimes through the leg. Step back for three. Left it short. Pacers pick it up. Matthews up the floor. Mathin all the way. Reverse. No good, but a foul. 470 people in the chat. We need 16 more likes. Who is going to get us to 300 likes? Like the show and subscribe to the channel. Let’s go, man. Like the stream right now. Get active in the comments. Looks like Matherine and VJ got into some words there. First one good for a mathin. Let’s go chat. Come on. Don’t slack. Don’t slack. We do this every single game, man. Pregame, live game, and postgame coverage right here on the show. Show us some love, man. Tyrese Maxi actually just tweeted out. He said, “Good process.” So, shout out to Tyrese Maxi. Can’t just be Joel though, you know. Everybody else has to step up. I don’t even know the last time Paul George took a shot after the free throws. It is now a three-point game. Four minutes to go here in the third quarter. DJ hasn’t even been taking shots either. I don’t think VJ’s taken one shot in the second half. Here’s Grimes around a screen, finds Joel. Joel jabbing, steps back. Joel for two. No good. Three-point lead for Philly. Andrew Nemhard, Benedict Matan, Isaiah Jackson, Jarus Walker, and Garrison Matthews. Nemhard threw it away. Taken away by Joel. Here come the 76ers. BJ up the floor with the left hand. Dumps to Embiid. Embiid at the top of the arc. Now Embiid takes it in, gets double, kicks it out. McCain back in for three. Couldn’t get it to drop. Nehart flying it down the floor. He spins and he is fouled by VJ Edgecomb. That’s going to be number three on VJ. Let’s go. We are one more like away from 300. Hit the like. Hit the subscribe. 500 people in the chat. Let’s go. Joel Embiid with 33 points. If you are just tuning into this one, just an incredible performance so far. First one good at the line for Nemhard. Coming up here in the fourth quarter, it’s going to be Cardiac Hoops yet again. Terms of fourth quarter scoring, the Sixers are 19th in the NBA and the Pacers are right behind them at 22. Second one is going to be good. It is a onepoint ball game. Now Joel’s going to bring it up the floor himself. They’re running everything through Joel. Now Joel gets plucked. He falls on the ground. McConnell takes it away. We have a foul and Isaiah Jackson is clapping in the face of Joel Embiid. I don’t know what Jackson is clapping about. Looked like he got elbowed by Joel after plucking it away from him. Jackson definitely grabbed his arm as well. So looked like they tripped over each other’s feet there. I don’t know what they just did, but maybe there’s a challenge. So anyway, we are going over to a commercial timeout. Ladies and gentlemen, how do you feel about Joel Embiid in this performance right now? Let me know in the chat. I think the Sixers might be challenging the foul. But in the meantime, let’s go ahead and give one more great shout out to our partners over at National University. Once again, check out NU. They’re going to say the challenge is unsuccessful, probably because Embiid fouled him first, but both players did foul each other. So, how do we feel about this game, though? Maxi goes through this same problem. He carries the team for the entire game. The rest of the team doesn’t do their part and then they got to fight it out, you know, clawing at the end. Maxi goes through the same thing. So, if you’re going to be in here and whine about Tyrese Maxi, well, then we should whine about Joel Embiid, right? It’s the same thing. It’s a team issue, man. What do you think the real issue with the Sixers is, man? I want to know. I don’t know if Maxi’s going to play with his illness. So, we will see, man. Like I said, Maxi goes through this every single game, man. He has to carry the team in the fourth quarter. It is wild, though, man. There’s just no way VJ only has two shot attempts in the second half. Just no way. How many minutes does Jared McCain have? 14. It’s ridiculous, man. All righty. Here is Quinton Grimes and Justin Edwards is still in this ball game. Here’s Joel going to pull up a deep two. Can’t get it to go. Wait, did they take Paul George out? It was hard to get it, but the Sixers fought through it. And honestly, I loved what I saw in the fourth quarter. But the best part about it was that we’ve been waiting to see this level of Joel Embiid. Let’s go, man. All right, I think I know what time it is, man. First off, like the show. Get us to 500 for Joel, man. Appreciate everybody being a part of it. Ladies and gentlemen, Sixers win 115 105. What did I say the score would be? I think I said 115 109. Didn’t I say that? Uh BJ Edgecomb only had two shots in the second half, which is absurd, by the way, but he had 14 in the first quarter. It’ll go under the radar. Sir, it’ll go under the radar, but Dominic Barlo was incredible in the fourth quarter. $10 super chat. James says, “To be vintage means a performance from someone that at was one a performance from someone that at was once great and had a performance of their former self. He’s not his former self. He is still that player.” Well, first off, James, before you try to correct me, brother, you got you gotta, you know, use the pronunciation here, man. So, that’s number one. Number two, I know what vintage means, bro. I’m not saying you’re right or wrong. I’m saying I don’t want to hear it tonight. And number three, and I know I’m going to sound like a Debbie Downer here. I’m not trying to get ahead of myself, man, because it was a one game against a team that stinks and they have no center. But I don’t think it’s fair to say just yet that Paul George or excuse me that Joel Embiid is his vintage self that he’s his, you know, he’s himself. Like he’s still that guy. We don’t know. Maybe talent-wise he is. But can he play every game? Can his body hold up? That’s the question, James. So I appreciate your thoughts. And maybe you’re right, but can he play every game? Because what we’ve seen all season has not been his former self. He hasn’t looked like that guy. But I hope you are right, James. I really, really hope you’re right, James. So, thank you. $2 super chat. Daniel Sansz was talking to the chat about the scoreboard. Sorry. You’re all good, man. You’re all good. It’s just it’s tough when you got 10 people coming into the chat at the same time when I’ve already said it a million times. But but anyway, man. Anyway, but yeah, like I said, man, James, I’m not disagreeing with you, but we got to see it more consistently. And uh yeah, not trying to come at your punctuation. I’m just saying. And Daniel, you’re all good, man. Ladies and gentlemen, drop the W’s in the chat, man. I see them flowing in here. Play the song. Play the song. Let’s go, man. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s going to be a fun postgame show tonight. We’re going to head over there. Vincent says Embiid’s post game is titled Vintage Embiid Performance. I mean, I don’t understand why people are like confused about the word vintage. I literally said at halftime this was vintage. This like vintage, you know, I’m gonna look up the exact definition. I know James tried to give it, but like this was vintage Joel and Embiid just so y’all don’t think I’m like, you know, pulling stuff out of left field. Vintage refers to items of enduring quality or classic style from the past era. So again, when we say Joel Embiid vintage, we’re saying MVP. Like th this was shades of MVP. That’s what we’re trying to say. Because he hasn’t looked like himself because of the injuries. That’s it. Don’t overthink it. I know it was only two years ago, but man, so much has happened since then. I think we’re all getting caught up on the word vintage. We’re excited. It’s supposed to be a good thing. I’m not saying Joel can’t be that guy. I’m just saying we haven’t seen it consistently. $2 super chat. James says, “I’m drunk.” All good, James. Appreciate you, man. He says, “I’m drunk, but yeah, Embiid might be the go.” Yeah, James, you’ve been uh you’ve been sipping one too many tonight, brother. Appreciate you tuning in and the support though, man. Uh Don Bole, $2 super chat says, “Despite what the Pacers had, Embiid moved very well.” And that is going to be my main point of the postgame show. That is going to be my main point. I don’t know why the stream is lagging. Hopefully you guys can hear me. I think it dipped for a second, but anyway. Um yeah, in case y’all didn’t hear what I just said because the thing dipped, James, you’re drunk. you’ve been sipping a lot. Hope you’re safe tonight, buddy. And uh shout out Joel, man. Shout out Joel. And um as for my guy Dom, yeah, despite what the the Pacers had out there on the floor tonight, Joel Embiid looked good himself. Joel Embiid looked good himself. So to me, that’s all that matters right now. And I’m happy. I’m very thrilled, actually. Very thrilled. I’m very thrilled at how Joel Embiid looked tonight. I’m thrilled at how Paul George looked tonight. And we’re going to talk about it all, man. We’re gonna we’re going to try to tow the line about where we should be. How should we feel after this performance? All right, so don’t go anywhere. I have a lot more to say on this. We’ll be back in about 7 minutes setting up the post game and we will be back. Matter of fact, we’re going to load up the phone lines right now. We’re going to load up the phone lines right now. And I’m going to tell y’all why I deserve credit for Joel Embiid’s comeback and why he was so good tonight because there is a concrete reason as to why. So, let me go ahead and put the phone number in the chat. Discord is in the chat as well. Let’s go ahead and put a new poll on here in the chat and then we’ll set everything up. All right, ladies and gentlemen, we will be back in just a few minutes. Don’t go anywhere. Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but I have some things to say on this postgame show. Leave us a fivestar rating on Apple Podcast, all that good stuff. Support our show, watch our social clips, all that stuff, man. We’re growing. We’re expanding. If the 76ers get this level of Joel Embiid and Paul George, they could legitimately be a threat and be dangerous in the Eastern Conference. Yeah, I’m going to say it because I don’t know how many times we’ll be able to say it. And I also want to tell you why I am the one who should be given 1% credit for this performance tonight. So, we’re gonna get into all of it. We’re going to go to the chat. We’re going to break it all down. But this is the Sixers postgame live show presented by Sleeper. And I want to hear all of your thoughts in the chat and on the phone lines tonight. So, we will take your phone calls on the line in the Discord a little bit later. First off, we have a $10 super chat from our boy James. James, thank you so much for the love, man. Happy Friday, my guy James. Hope you’re doing all right, man. He says, “You are right.” Right. He was vintage based on his performance tonight, but not who he is as a player. And that’s why I think he just needs to ramp up. James, appreciate your thoughts, man. Thank you for having a civil conversation. You’re the man. And I do pretty much agree with what you’re saying, James. So, let’s start it off. Maybe you didn’t watch this game. You’re thinking, “Ah, it’s the six- win Pacers who are essentially tanking because their owner is cheap and didn’t want to pay Miles Turner and Tyrese Hallebertton is out for the season.” And the 76ers don’t have Tyrese Maxi tonight for the first game of the year. So, you’re like, “Ah, this is a game. It’s Friday night. I’m not going to watch.” Well, you just missed the gem. If you didn’t watch this game because Tyrese Maxi didn’t play, you missed a master class. And it starts with Joel Hans Embiid. I almost shed a damn tear watching this game. This was vintage Joel Embiid for the first time all season. We could talk about the numbers. 39 points and what did he have? Like nine rebounds, three assists. We could talk about all that. Joel Embiid attacked his defender every possession after the first quarter. He started off slow. He wasn’t moving around that well, just like vintage MVP Embiid. And out of nowhere, boom, 15 in the second quarter, boom, 13 in the fourth quarter, going to the free throw line, getting mismatches, putting his shoulder down, and just manipulating the game on a different level in a way that not many can do. This level of Joel Embiid was absolutely fantastic. And I know he was going up against Jay Huff and he was going up against the Pacers team that isn’t that good, but I don’t care. I don’t want to hear it tonight. This was the MVP level Joel Embiid and it just made me so happy internally to see him playing that way. In addition to Joel Embiid, Paul George was absolutely tremendous in every facet. His defense continues to be a spark for this team. He is looking sort of kind of like the player that they signed to that max contract. This is all we ever wanted out of Paul George. Intensive defensive effort. A guy that can knock down threes. He had four triples tonight and a guy that can give you 23 points a game. Absolutely fantastic. He hit a big shot that essentially sealed the game. He made play after play after play and he found his spots. Paul George and Joel Embiid were phenomenal. And I know it’s way too early to say this, but if the Sixers could get this type of consistency out of those two players, this team could be very, very dangerous in a wideopen Eastern Conference. Simple as that. And that is how we’re going to start off this postgame show. That is really what I had to get off my chest. Now we can break it down because man man we did not have Tyrese Maxi tonight and I said at the beginning of this game by the way I predicted the score would be 115 to 109. I said it would be closer than we think. I said Jared McCain would lead the game in scoring. He was nowhere near close thanks to Joel Embiid. But also, we’ll get to Nick Nurse and why I think Nick Nurse was partially blowing this game and why he should be playing Jared McCain more. But anyway, no Tyrese Maxi in this game. So, I said it would be very interesting to see whether or not Joel Embiid and Paul George could take over. And the Sixers come out of the gate and it’s a very close game. Sixers have a comfortable lead and it’s VJ Edgecom who comes out of the gate with 14 points in the first quarter. His careerhigh for any quarter. VJ Edgecom comes out of the gate and we’re like, man, maybe those five days off finally helped VJ get some rest and he’s boosted back up to 100%. VJ’s driving downhill. He’s turning the corner. He is so lightning quick. He cannot be stopped. and VJ’s cooking every possession. So, we’re thinking, okay, this could be a 30point VJ Edgecomb game. Well, then we get to halftime. VJ has 18 points. He had four in the second quarter, and the guy only had two shot attempts for the rest of the game. Now, VJ Edgecom, don’t get it wrong, played a very good game tonight. 22 points, four rebounds, five assists, no turnovers, two steals. I thought VJ picked his spots accordingly, but in the first quarter, it almost felt like VJ was doing his thing because he didn’t have anybody else in his way. Like he finally got the touches. And as we’ve been saying for weeks, give VJ the ball more. Let him create. I don’t know why he only had two shots in the second half. I think that’s ridiculous. And I think he could have had 30 in this game. But it was Joel Embiid after that slow start who stepped it up, who got active and started to dominate. Joel Embiid took this game in his hands. Whether it was Jay Huff, a random guy who cooked the Sixers with the Memphis Grizzlies last year, whether it was Isaiah Jackson, the Pacers are a travesty right now. And Joel Embiid do that. And just like the old Joel Embiid from 2023 and before when the Sixers were playing a bad team, he would say, “Give me the ball a million times and let me go to the free throw.” And and you know, tonight he went 13 of 18. And I thought this is exactly how he used to take games into his own hands. Paul George started off the game, I think he had like what, eight in the first quarter, something like that. Sixers were on some runs, then the Pacers came back. It was close. It was a few point game at halftime, I think. Right. It was a five-point game at halftime and the Sixers actually had a decent third quarter thanks to Joel Embiid. He had 15 of the 27 in the third, but they get outscored by five. And as we knew all game throughout, it had that feel almost like of a playoff game. This was going to be a close game down to the wire. And it goes to the fourth quarter tied. And it it was a little bit of everything. It was a tie game. And then here comes Paul George with a nice couple sequences, right? A couple dribble drives, you know, foul. Uh there was a Rick Carile technical late in the game, which I thought was absurd for him to do, especially in a game that was what, two points decided at that time. Kept going back and forth. And you know, we’ll talk about that in a little bit because that shouldn’t be the case in this game. But it was a couple Paul George buckets and then it was VJ Edgecomb with a nice steal and then even Quinton Grimes got involved late even though he didn’t have the best night. Justin Edwards uh went 0 for five but it was Jabari Walker in the first half rather with six points. So it was a little bit of everybody. Even in the fourth quarter there was a couple late possessions where the Sixers found a cutting Dominic Barlo under the rim. I thought Barlo was fantastic in this game and nobody will even realize it or talk about it because you have to actually watch the games to see the type of impact Dominic Barlo is making night in and night out. Dominic Barlo had 10 points and eight rebounds, but he had a couple buckets in the last five minutes where he cut to the rim. He lost his defender in space and he, you know, laid it in or got a second chance bucket. There was a couple offensive rebounds by Andre Drummond in the third quarter when the Sixers couldn’t pull one in and Joel was getting a little bit tired. So again, there was contributions it felt like from everybody, but with the game on the line when it really mattered, Joel Embiid took over, Paul George took over, and it was Paul George down the final stretch that really got it to seal. Like if we go to the fourth quarter, I mean with five minutes to go and and there was a a sequence there where Paul George, he went out of this game, I think it was with Hold on, let me make sure I get this right. Joel Embiid came back with seven minutes to go. Paul George left with 640 to go. And then we were wondering cuz Paul George was at, I believe, 25 minutes at that point. And we were saying, is he going to come back in? Because he was at 25. That’s been his limit. And we didn’t know if Joel Embiid would go over 30. But Paul George comes back in 2 and 1/2 minutes later for the last 420 and he plays the rest of the game. And his impact was absolutely needed because when Paul George came back into the ball game, it was a a two-point game. Sixers were trailing by two. when Paul George came back into the ball game and then Dominic Barlo got fouled and then then Barlo had that layup like I said backtoback possessions where uh he was really huge in this game and Joel Embiid had a nice rebound then Rick Carile got the technical for the foul and then Joel Embiid hit a nice shot then he got fouled and then Grimes got fouled and then after that it was just foul after foul. Sixers were in the bonus and the Pacers went on a run there in the fourth quarter where they didn’t make a bucket for five minutes. Great defense by the Sixers. Great point of attack defense by Paul George tonight. Great point of attack defense by VJ Edgecomb and really just everybody. Quinton Grimes. I mean, this was really a complimentary win. And I got to give Nick Nurse credit for playing Joel Embiid and Paula George over 30 minutes. Didn’t I just say this a week ago? When Paul George and Joel Embiid can actually play those minutes and get back up to speed, you’re going to need them late in these games. And they came through. I like that Nick Nurse didn’t put the hard set limit on PG and Joel. Joel played 32 minutes. Paul George played 33. and they had to have them in in the last 5 minutes of the game. They were very crucial to the outcome of this game. And that right there is good coaching. Now, before that, I thought some of the lineup combinations were inconsistent. I thought for the beginning of the fourth quarter, they weren’t running any offense. Like, it just felt very like throw whatever at the wall, see what sticks. But then, like I said, you got your stars back in the game and they made the plays. Now, overall, over the full course of a game, I still think that you have to find more of a consistent identity, whether that’s Nick Nurse, whether that’s just getting the players on the floor. The Sixers should not have had this close of a game against the Indiana Pacers. I talked about no Hallebertton. They don’t have a quality starting center. They’re starting Jay Huff of all people. The Pacers are not that good. So, the Sixers should have already put this game away. But, nonetheless, they like to make every game blood pressure filled and they like to raise our heart rates and they like to make it cardiac. You didn’t get really anything out of your bench tonight. And for the Pacers, as I’ve said for the last several years now and continue to be proven right, TJ McConnell is an absolute dog. I thought Rick Carile got out coached by Nick Nurse in this game because why would the Pacers not play TJ McConnell more? 17 minutes tonight for TJ McConnell. He had 15 points. Seven of 11. He was absolutely cooking the Sixers. TJ McConnell had 13 in the first half. Why did he not play more? Rick Carile had a full bench lineup out there together with five minutes left in the game. He didn’t even put his starters back in until there was a couple minutes left. So, I thought that Rick Carile got out coached tonight. Isaiah Jackson, Jarus Walker, these guys were playing late in the game. Tony Bradley, just like random minutes. And I don’t know, Seakum did not have his best night either. 20 points for Seakum. I thought he would have a much better game. But I got to be honest, man. Paul George played tremendous defense. Dominic Barlo played tremendous defense all season long. We’ve talked about can this team defend. No, that that has not been the case, but tonight they did. And they took advantage of it. I thought VJ was playing well against a really tough, gritty defender and Andrew Nemhard. Everything feeds off of Joel Embiid. Everything feeds off of Joel Embiid, man. You saw the type of pressure that he commanded and the attention and usually we’ve been seeing that lead to double teams where then he creates for shooters. They didn’t really double him a lot tonight and Joel took advantage of that. And I just love the aggressive mentality for Joel Embiid. Now, to bring it full circle, I don’t know how this is going to look like moving forward. Did Joel Embiid look this good because he had five days of rest, or can this carry into Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks? You just played the short-handed Atlanta Hawks. That was the first game you had the trio on the floor together, and you lost in double overtime, mainly because of minute restrictions. What is their limit? Can they get these guys to a point where they’re playing 35 plus a game? If you can do that, and if you can channel some of what you saw tonight, then this team could be very dangerous. And I think with Joel, it’s kind of just a pain tolerance thing. And you have to see if his knee swells or not. But I do have to say, man, Paul George is playing his butt off, man. This is now like four games in a row where Paul George has made an impact on both sides of the ball. He’s giving you around that 20 point per game mark. He’s playing excellent defense and he’s making some big shots in big time moments. So, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but who knows how many moments we will have like this again for the rest of the season. And it just felt like the good old days, man. It felt like a good game from 2022 where the Sixers go out and they play the Charlotte Hornets and Joel Embi drops 50. That’s what it felt like tonight. If Joel could have played more minutes, he only played 32 tonight and he had 39 points. If Joelle played 38 minutes tonight, he might have 50. That’s how dominant he was. 13 of 18 at the line. I thought the Sixers as a whole, man. I mean, the free throw disparity was pretty wild in this game if we’re being honest. 76ers shot 43 free throws tonight. When’s the last time you can remember the difference in team free throws being this drastic? Maybe the last time Joel Embiid dominated this way. And for most of this game, we were saying the same things that we have been saying all year with Tyrese Maxi. Maxi is doing everything. He’s carrying the team. Now, thankfully, the rest of the team stepped up and did their thing when they had to, but Maxi’s been going through the same thing. But if you could take what Maxi’s been doing and then pair it with what Joel and PG are doing and find that balance, man, I think I think this could be something. But it’s only one game and we can’t get ahead of ourselves because we always seem to do that and then we end up very disappointed. So none of the oh you guys hated on Joel Embiid blah blah blah blah blah. He had an amazing game. I hope he can build on it. Now one other thing I want to say man. I want to get to a negative for a second. And by the way $5 super chat from Eatic 1977. He says vintage old school throwback whatever. Embiid played well. And I promise, man, we’re going to get to the phones here in just a second. Ladies and gentlemen, let me know your thoughts in the chat. How do you feel about this game? How are you feeling? How do you feel about this performance? I got to comment on one thing in regards to Jared McCain, man. Um, I think it is a crime what Nick Nurse is doing to Jared McCain right now. I love Nurse. I love McCain, but this is wild, man. Let me read this to you, okay? Jared McCain in the first half played nine minutes. He had five points. Five points in nine minutes in the first half. Then he played three minutes in the third quarter and zero minutes in the fourth quarter. Now, I already said this on the last postgame show. I already put out a clip about this, so I’m not going to harp on it. extensively. There is no reason for Jared McCain to not play a single minute in the fourth quarter and to only get three minutes in the second half. That is ridiculous. He’s better than Justin Edwards. And Justin Edwards played how many minutes in the fourth quarter? Justin Edwards played five minutes in the fourth quarter. Justin Edwards went 0 for five tonight, right? I think he went 0 for Yeah. 0 for five. 0 for five for Justin Edwards tonight. And yet he played for 19 minutes and Jared McCain got nothing. I just don’t understand why. What is wrong with Jared McCain that Nick Nurse does not like? Why? I just want to know. Anyway, other than that, uh Drummond had 16 minutes. He didn’t score a point. He only shot the ball once, but he had nine tough rebounds, four on the offensive side, and two blocks. He had a nice block on TJ McConnell and um there was just a little bit of everything in this game. There was a little bit of spice in every way in this game from Paul George with the little crossover Hezi pullup to the nice little baseline fade to the Joel Embiid absolute terror domination to VJ Edgecomb going off for 14 in the first quarter. This was a team win. I’d like to see a little more balance throughout the game. And you know, you can’t go drive for two and a half quarters like they did, but they shot 32% from three. They outrebounded the Pacers and when it mattered most, they came through and they hit some big shots. And that was because Joel Embiid and Paula George went over their minute restrictions. They have to play over the minute restrictions for this team to win, especially without Tyrese Maxi. So, nonetheless, man, uh tough, gritty Pacers team. They’ll always play that way because of Rick Carile, but it shouldn’t have been this close. But nonetheless, I’m happy with what I saw tonight, and I am happy with the win. So, ladies and gentlemen, that is where we are at. That is how we feel. I want your thoughts on this game in the chat on the phones. Call in. Phone number is 3392077171 or join in through the Philly take discord. The link is pinned in the chat. We will load that up here and we will see who is on the phone lines. All right, man. Let’s load it up and then uh we’re going to hear from some people tonight before we get to our first caller on the Discord. Let’s see. We have uh we’ll go we’ll go to James on the Discord and then we got our boy downtown waiting and a few others. Before we do that, man, who gets the player of the game tonight? Drop it in the chat. I mean, I don’t think there’s any debate. Maybe a little bit, but I I think Joel Embiid deserves it tonight. He has not received the player of the game award yet this season. He goes for 39 points, 12 of 23, nine rebounds, three assists, one steel, 13 of 18 at the free throw line. He was absolutely dominant. Absolutely dominant. Amazing. Amazing. Joel Embiid gets player of the game. A vintage Joel Embiid MVP performance. It is about time and it was nice to see you, man. So, shout out to Jojo, man. Shout out to Joel. All right, let’s go ahead and hop on to the Discord. Let’s get someone on the phones to talk about this game and what they saw tonight. We’ll go to James on the Discord. James on the Discord. Unmute your mic. Huh? James, what’s up, man? Hi. How you doing? I’m feeling pretty good, man. What you got for me? Sorry. Say that again. I was on your uh video. I said I’m feeling pretty good, man. man, what do you have for me? Um, I mean, there were there were a lot of things um I thought about. Let’s hear them, man. And to me, I think what stood out the most is and be dropping 39. I feel like you just there’s not a player that can justly drop 39. You know what I mean? And I think the fact that he’s able to drop that many points and obviously he’s not healthy at all, but I mean there’s there have been so many um like I’m sorry. You’re good, man. You’re good. No, take your time. Player doesn’t just drop 39 like that. You know what I mean? No, I hear you, man. But like my thing is can it be replicable? You know, like can we get this consistently or is you know definable? Um, I think like I said, I was like super super chatting, but like I said, I think he just has to ramp up and once he does, I think he’s getting there like, and I think that’s evident by tonight’s performance, but I think he’s getting there. But I think as we know, he’s always been the type of player that has never started the season on a good note. He’s always had to ramp up and he’s been, you know, trial by injuries and yeah, um he just had the right knee injury. So that has really, you know, it’s it’s it’s been a barrier for him. So I listen James and and yeah, so you were the super chatter James. So look, man, I I pretty much agree with what you’re saying. I think where it’s a little different for me is that we’re 24 games into the season, you know? So, like usually Joel would have a little rust at the beginning of the season and I’m not saying he didn’t this year, but again, it’s just been very inconsistent because, you know, he played what was it like six games and then he missed nine in a row because his other knee swelled up, you know. So, then this week he comes back after five nice days of rest and he dominates. Now, I’m hoping on Sunday with a day in between he can look the same. You know, I’m not saying he has to drop 39 again, but just move around well, go out there, be able to jump. I I saw him contesting some shots tonight. It was great. It was like the old Embiid. The question is, can he hold up long term? Well, I think that’s the problem, though. I think, you know, at the beginning of this season, you know, he’s had to deal with a lot. And I think when whenever he just he has to sit out for an injury or whatever, it kind of derails his progression. Yeah. And you know, tonight, you know, it was a good sign, but he needs that consistency. He needs to keep playing games. And once we see him, you know, obviously he can’t play back to backs, but if he can at least, you know, be consistent uh with his injury management, I think that’s a good sign for him. Hey, man. I think I agree. I agree. I I don’t even need him to play the back to backs, man. Yeah, for sure. I mean, so it it was a good sign tonight and I think I think it’s, you know, the future’s bright for him, but you I think people just have to be patient because, you know, like I said, he’s never been the type of player that just, you know, was insanely good at the beginning of the season. And especially now that he’s being derailed with injuries and I think he’s much better than last year for sure because, you know, there’s not, you know, an injury that’s keeping him back. I think, you know, he has a right knee injury right now and he’s working through that. But I it it seems like he’s good. Yeah, I agree, man. James, hope to hear from you again, man. Thanks for calling in, bro. For sure. Have a good one, man. Shout out James on the Discord. Good call. Good call, man. I like how he presented his points and, you know, I agree with him. Like Joel always has ramped up. You know, I think Philly fans have been very patient. I think there’s been a lot that has gone on and, you know, at the end of the day, we want to see this team at full health. We don’t want to be strung along and like, oh, well, he might play, he might not. Like, just be honest with us and tell us. You know, that’s it. Tell us. Be honest with us. Tonight, we saw him on the floor. It was amazing. And I know Joel’s trying his hardest, man. I know. I know he’s trying to get out there and do his thing. You know, we’re being as patient as we can, but now it’s go time. Get the full team on the floor. Simple as that. Simple as that. All right, back to the Discord we go. Let’s keep it rapid fire. We got a lot of people on the phones. Fredo on the Discord. Fredo. Fredo on the Discord. Hello. Yo, Fredo, what’s up? What’s up, RB? How are we? I’m doing good. Uh, I like watching this game. It kind of sucks cuz this is a game where I wish Maxi would have played in cuz he got a Joel Embiid that dropped 39 points tonight. Do I think he could keep doing this? It’s too early to tell. I need to see at least at least like a seven game sample size. I I agree. If he could play seven of the next 12, that’d be nice to see. Yeah, I mean I agree, man. Um it’s just a little bit too early to say like, “Oh, Joel is completely back.” But this was a step in the right direction, man. Like I don’t want to not recognize it at all, but this was like this is what we’ve been waiting to see. This is what we want to see from Joel. And I’m not saying again it has to be 39 a game, but just the will to go get a bucket, to rebound, to defend, and maybe it just depends on the health of the knee, but this was beautiful, man. Yeah. No, we don’t need him to get 39 tonight. We Maxi’s averaging 32. He get a nice 25 22. That’d be perfect. But yeah, I mean, I seen him jump up for a rebound uh at the end of the game. I was like, he’s he’s never really jumped for a rebound the past two years, but he jumped up, grabbed the rebound. You seen him pushing the floor and instead of stopping for a mid-range, you seen him throw his body into somebody and try to get in the paint, so that was nice. Uh Paul George. Paul George looked really nice tonight. Hustling defensive end. His playmaking when he said at the beginning of the season he wanted to be a point forward if he had to play the role. Some people kind of laughed at it. But you’re starting to see like usually you just see you know him for his scoring and defense. That’s it. But he’s out there passing the ball making good reads. Paul George looked really good tonight and VJ stepped up too. I agree, man. Anything else you got for me, Fredo? That was it. It was a good win. I wish Maxi could have played tonight, but MB looked good. Everybody looked good. Absolutely, man. Hey, good win. Hopefully they can build on it next game, man. Appreciate you calling in. Yeah, they got to build on it. Thank you, man. Shout out Fredo on the Discord. What do you guys think? Can they build on it, man? Can they build on that? I mean, hopefully that’s the goal, right? Come back Sunday. Maxi gets back in the lineup. Maxi drops a nice little 30piece. Joelle does his thing. Drops a nice little clean 25. Paul George drops a nice little 25. And there we go. The Sixers are rocking and rolling. I saw a lot of positives from different players tonight individually that did their thing. So, I’m I’m really up on that, man. All right. chat, give me your thoughts, man. How do you feel about this performance? Do you think this is the Joel Embiid that we will see moving forward? Are you sold on it? What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the live chat right now. I want to hear your thoughts. All right, let’s go over to the phone lines. Let’s go to the 610. 610. What’s up, man? Appreciate you calling, man. Yo, what’s up, man? Hey, how you doing? I’m doing good, man. Can you turn the stream down in the background? I will. All right. I got I got it completely down. Got you, man. Hey, what’s your name? Where you calling in from, bro? I’m calling in from uh uh Philadelphia. Um listen, I just had some uh a some quick questions for you just say just to hear what you have or what you think about some of the things that I have to say and then I’ll cut off and just listen listen to you talk because uh I’d rather that than listen to me talk. Yeah, man. What you got? One size. It just seems like when Jared’s on in there or or even Tyrese, even though Tyrese is a must that it seems like they get us on size. So, I’m concerned with size and I want your feeling on size. The other thing that I want to to address is distribution. Now, if we had a good point guard, and this has no no reflection on Tyrese, he is 100% my favorite player, and he’s 100% the best player on the team right now. But distribution goes from game to game. And with that being said, it almost seems like if we had a distribution type of player, and I think Paul can actually do something like that, that from game to game, he can find the hot hand and then he can distribute that way. So, I just want to hear your thoughts on those two aspects and then I just listen to you talk. Absolutely, man. And appreciate the call, brother. Shout out to my guy from Philly, man. And I’m going to answer your questions. And I would actually love to hear the the chat’s thoughts on that as well. Size and distribution. Two great questions, by the way. And I’m sorry, like I said, I’m still under the weather a bit, but number one, size. Uh, Tyrese Maxi, Jared McCain, Quinton Grimes, VJ Edgecomb. It is the modern dilemma. You know, you have these quick, crafty guards that can explode for 40 points and, you know, can hit the crossovers, step backs, and, you know, half spin he like all these crazy things, but they’re 6’2, 63, 6’4. Can you pair a back court like that with guys that are smaller? I think you can, but it depends on the build of the rest of the team. I don’t think you can have two guys that are completely unplayable defensively together, but as long as one is okay and as long as you have a deep guard rotation where you can pair those guys, I think that it can work. But to your point about the point guard thing, I think that’s a great point because Jared McCain played three minutes in the the third quarter and he played zero minutes in the fourth quarter and Nick Nurse a couple weeks ago said VJ Edgecom is the backup point guard of the team. We know Quinton Grimes can’t really be that lead guard off the bench. VJ I don’t think is there yet ball handling wise. So, why can’t Jared McCain be that point guard off the bench? I think he can. I think he’s shown he’s more than capable of handling the rock and setting up offense. But that takes me in to the other point distribution. I just got done saying at the beginning of the postgame show how it’s very inconsistent and that is because Joel Embiid and Paul George one do not play every game and two are in and out of the lineup even when they’re in the game because of minute restrictions. So I agree it’s like you’re trying to do one thing and then you got to change it up and then you got to change it up. Like it’s from game to game. It’s all it’s almost like not knowing who’s coming in to work each day and you’re managing a company and you can’t really depend on, you know, one manager, the next assistant or whatever. So, you got to constantly make changes to the model of of how you’re working the flow, right? So, I think Paul George actually can be that bridgeway, that connector. I think Paul George should be able to handle the rock, you know. I think some offense should be Tyrese Maxi taking over like he does and, you know, spacing everybody out to the perimeter. Let Maxi go and cook one-on-one. And then I think there should be, you know, a couple quick ball screens, get a shooter open on the wing, and then sometimes there should be Joel Embiid down low posting up. Maybe not all the time, but then here comes Paul George handling the rock, setting up teammates like he did tonight with his five assists. I just don’t think we see it consistently enough. And even tonight, VJ Edgecomb once again showed why he can run spurts of the offense, but we haven’t seen VJ run the offense from the first week of the year. So, in terms of distribution, I think you have a really solid point. And I think you build that identity throughout the season. Like for example, the Oklahoma City Thunder have all these guys that that can do different things with the ball and they play amazing defense and they can do all this, but why are they so good? Because they’ve played together for a lot of games. So they know, okay, SGA is going to take over at this point. Here comes Kase Wallace off the bench. He’s going to run these possessions. Here’s Isaiah Hartinstein. Little rim run right there. Boom. Perfect. Oh, Jaylen Williams. Here you go. Take the ball. Shoot it 20 times. You know, whereas with the Sixers, it’s like, all right, Maxi plays one game by himself. He shoots the ball 42 times and then next game here comes Joel Embiid who’s an MVP player, so he needs the ball 30 times. Does that make sense? Hopefully. I I mean, I’m making a little bit of sense here, but it’s a long-winded way of saying that I think the distribution needs to be more balanced, and the way they do that is by building more consistency and chemistry by playing together. So hopefully that makes sense. And in terms of the defensive thing, I think Maxi has very much held his own defensively and has gotten better over the years. And I think even McCain has shown potential that he can be average on the defensive side. Maybe not locked down or anything like that, but he has certainly shown potential. I go back to that one play last year where LaMelo Ball was getting locked up by Jared McCain in crunch time in overtime. So anyway, that’s my thoughts on that. Um, all right, we’re going to go to downtown on the phone line next and then we have a couple more on the Discord. But give me your thoughts on that down in the comments. And, uh, before we get to them on the phones, got to give one more great shout out to our partner over at Sleeper. If y’all haven’t checked out the Sleeper app yet, do me a favor. Go ahead and uh, check them out, man. Sleepers, your one-stop shop for all your sports needs. And you can pick on games in real times, pregame, live game, or across sports. And our picks tonight once again got busted thanks to Nick Nurse not playing Jared McCain enough. I was going to go with VJ or Paul George, but I ended up going with Jared McCain. So, I had Jared McCain over 12 and a half points. He goes for five in 14 minutes. I had Seakum on the over at 23 and a half. He goes for 20 points and I had TJ McConnell on the over at 8 and a half and he goes for 15 points. So, he went one for three. Still haven’t hit the perfect three for three mark, but we’re getting there. And if you think you can outpick me, go ahead, download the Sleeper app. Use the code Philly Tape. Get a 100% deposit match up to $100 on your first deposit. Shout out to the Sleeper app for partnering the show all year long. Terms and conditions apply. See Sleepers terms of use for details. operational in over 25 states. Check out Sleeper today. It’s like a game with inside a game. Speaking of which, man, we saw a lot of games inside a game tonight from different players. All right, let’s hear what our boy downtown from Virginia has to say about this game. Downtown, what’s up, man? What’s up, Aubrey? You doing all right, man? I’m doing all right, man. How are you? I’m doing okay. Hey, great game tonight. Uh seems like old times, bro. You know, uh and be scoring 30 some points and uh the team helping them out, man. But it was a good game. And I’m not I’m not here to knock down what they did, man. But the team is a lot better than what we think. And I I know we we we we uh we we we critically uh talk about them a lot, but uh they are they are a very good team when healthy and when Yeah. Win healthy. And you said it yourself last game on the phones, you said take the training wheels off. Well, here we go, man. 32 minutes for Joel and 33 for Paul George and look what happens. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, sir. And that’s without Maxi, right? You know, so add Max add Maxi to the mix. They probably would have beat him. they probably would have blew him out. But you know, uh if if you know who deserves right now coach of the year and and and and a lot of people might get me get upset about it, but I you name me any team in the NBA right now that has had as many combination of starters as we have. So you’re saying Nick Nurse should be coach of the year? Yes, sir. Considering considering all the stuff that he has to go through and we still 14 and 10, man, that’s an accomplishment, bro. I mean, I I I mean, I I may not like some of the stuff that he does, but you know, overall, man, the guy is a pretty good coach, man. We certainly wouldn’t have got it from Doc Rivers. I guarantee you that. Doc Rivers would have jacked it up a long time ago. You know it as well as I know it. I I do agree about Doc. Uh, I don’t know if I’m giving out coach of the year honors to Nick Nurse, but I do I 100% agree with your point, man, about the stuff that he’s had to deal with since becoming the coach of this team. Like, not a lot of coaches have had to deal with that, man. And it is rough. Yeah. Yeah. But, uh, yeah. I mean, no offense, man, but you you know, and and uh Yeah. You know, but the the thing about it is, man, I know we I know we’re, you know, we a work in progress, but if we keep if we keep bringing the people in and keep doing what we need to do, man, we’ll get better because uh right now we’re we’re we’re sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference and and there are a lot of teams who have not went through near as much adversely as he has. and and we still fifth in in the conference. I mean, you got to give them credit to what to what they doing. And uh you know, I like I said, I may not like how they how they got the 14, but considering all the things that they’ve done, oh man, it’s it’s a big accomplishment. Yeah, I agree, man. You take it easy, Brock. Hey, you too, man. Shout out downtown on the phone lines. Always got to respect the man calling in. I’m guessing from work, man. Grinding, listening into the show on a Friday night. He’s like, “Let me tap in and get my thoughts.” Shout out to Downtown. Drop some fires in the chat for him. And I know the chat is going off on him right now for that take. I That was a wild take. That was a wild take. Listen, man. As you guys know, or probably know, I I interviewed Nick Nurse before I met him. I think he’s a sharp guy. like a lot of what he has done the last year and a half has very much confused me because again this is a former championship coach that has won at every level. He won in the British Basketball League. He won in the G-League. He won in the NBA. I mean it it’s it’s been shocking to see what he has done at some points. But I I mean at the same time, you also do have to take into account what he has had to go through with this team. Like I I feel like any coach put in this situation would fail. I think there’s more he can do to make up with the players that he does have, but he also has been dealt a disastrous hand. So I think it can go both ways. I think it can go both ways, but I’m not giving him coach of the year. No. All right, man. Couple more to close us out and then we will be back on Sunday. Like I said, guys, and also I said this at the beginning, man, but if you are listening on the postgame platforms, the podcast platforms, leave a fivestar rating on uh on Apple podcast, man. That would be huge for us. We’re growing on every social platform right now, but we’re also trying to grow in the audio world. Right now we’re at uh 30 fivestar ratings. So definitely leave us a review. Go on over to the podcast platform and support us over there as well. All right, back to the Discord we go. Our boy Sixer Sash on the Discord. Sixers Sash, what’s up? Barbie, how you been? Doing all right, man. I’ve been sick this week, but uh we’re bouncing back just like the Sixers. What you got for me? I know. I know. Um, no, I think I think this game was sick because we got to see VJ with his confidence that we’ve been talking about. Um, you know, we saw him aggressive to the paint. He went to the line, I think, five times. Um, and just his all-around presence was was great. Um, I think I don’t uh I was kind of like in and out of the uh postgame interview and uh or the chat and I don’t know if this was talked a lot but he without Maxi on the floor it really kind of showed that you know this is this really is his his team. Um, I mean without I mean without him there isn’t really any like oil that goes on the machine as a weird way to to say it or on the gears. But, you know, you could see a lot of disconnect. Although, you know, people were somewhat having chemistry, but I know a lot of the the uh US fans in the chat and from a little bit what I’ve heard from the from the postgame interview is they resonate with that. Maybe PG is the point forward. Uh maybe building chemistry. You didn’t really get to see as much of Jared McCain taking the lead today. um some too much ISO movement with Joel, but you know, it’s still a phenomenal game with with Joel. No complaints. But, you know, I think the the bottom line of what I was what I’m trying to say is that it’s crazy to see that we’re seeing this transition uh in real time and it’s working that, you know, Tyrese Maxi is uh the captain. That’s a weird way to say it, but um u you know what’s crazy, man? feel about. Yeah, let me comment on that because I I feel like it’s a very tough situation and let me know if you agree with this, but like let’s say all right, Tyrese Maxi comes back next game and Joel Embiid’s on the floor, you know, himself and Paul George is on the floor. It’s like I feel like we’re making that shift, right? Like it does feel like Maxis’s offense, right? But it’s like with how Joel can play, if Joel is not in the primary scoring role like he was tonight, then what is he best suited doing? I guess we would typically say playing defense and protecting the rim and getting rebounds, but we know that his knee probably can’t allow him to do that at a superior level right now. So, if he’s not backing defenders down and, you know, scoring 38 a game, can he contribute in those other areas? you know, what does that balance look like? And then with Paul George playing the way he is right now, I feel like PG looks like the perfect compliment to those two. But you’re right, it it feels like it’s Maxis’s offense. And then you got to also sprinkle in the VJ touches, but then you got Jared McCain who’s rotting away on the bench cuz Nick Nurse won’t play him. And then don’t forget about Quinton Grimes. So, it’s like how like that’s where the coaching comes in and like kind of sets the table for that hierarchy, but it’s a very tough situation to be in because Joelle has been your former MVP, but it now it feels like Maxi is your MVP, you know? Yeah. And I just feel like like I it goes back to your comment of chemistry. I mean, it’s going to run through Maxi, but I I we don’t know what that looks like, how they’ll adjust for the Hawks. Um, and I don’t know if I called in on the Hawks game, but I mean it’s that’s that’s Jaylen Johnson’s team. I mean, that guy is so good. And so, it’ll be interested interesting to see how our our Sixers are just going to, you know, learn from their past mistakes. Hopefully, everyone’s healthy and just build that chemistry. But, no, I I totally agree. It’s it’s a we’re we’re in a blessed position. And this might be a hot take, but out of all the teams in the NBA, it’s weird. And I don’t really like a two timeline approach, but with this group of squad or with this squad, um I think and we know how how deep our bench is, we know the talent and like as die hard Sixers fans, we know how capable these guys are. If everyone’s healthy, this two timeline approach could work. Um but you know, we just got to keep that consistency up like you were saying. So yeah, it could work. I appreciate your tip. It It could work, but like I’m also a little concerned like let’s say they play OKC or I don’t know the Spurs or, you know, whoever else like that’s going to run up and down the floor, you know, like can they keep up with that level of tempo, especially with how, you know, they’ve looked healthwise, right? Like that’s my main concern. And like how do you how do you like kind of fit those two timelines together, you know? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. No, I I appreciate that. But I think that’s all I got to say for for now and I appreciate you taking the call, man. Appreciate you, man. Shout out Sixer Sash on the Discord. Another great call from him. Great calls tonight, man. Y’all have been killing it. Let’s see what the chat is saying. Um, let’s see who else we got. Anybody else going to chime in on the phones? We got our boy Cool J up next to close us off. Uh, let’s see. Team’s talking. Chat’s talking about going to a game. Nurse has to play his hand. I agree. Who else we got? Busy B still rocking in the chat. Busy B MVP. Same with Don Bole. Daniel’s still rocking with us. Let’s see, man. Talking about attorneys in the chat. All right, we’ll go back to the phones, man. Let’s get our boy Cool J on the Discord. Cool J. Yo, RB, what’s up, man? I think, you know, everyone messed up what, you know, with the whole whole game, but overall I was trying to say is that we definitely seen the vintage MB that we wanted to see for a very long time. And like him going like, you know, actually being able to like get to the paint like you know the defender like doing all doing some stuff that you know he haven’t done and the fun fact is like you know this is the first 39 point game since game three when you got scored 50 points. So yeah. Yeah, that’s right. I mean, it’s been a while since we saw him like this, you know. Yeah, for sure. And Paul George also was phenomenal tonight as well. Like both of our Max players who been have been actually very well. Now the question now, you know, of course, you know, you said this before, like it’s about consistency. like you know even if you’re not you know this level like if that’s scoring 50 points like every single game like as long as you’re actually still contributing and you know still you know being obtainable trying to build chemistry like as long as you have that kind of thing then you know those ministries that’s a big problem with ministrations like you can’t really build anything if you have restrictions and you know them longer this this go around so glad they’re able to you know at least try and build something Yeah, it it was a good win tonight. I don’t want to get too ahead of it, you know, but it’s like, all right, well, can they do this again next game, you know, can they do it the game after? Cuz that’s what great teams do. They they put together consistent stretches of winning, they reveal their identity, they build it up, and then by the playoffs time, they’re ready to go. Simple as that. Yeah, absolutely. And this schedule’s going to test all of that. like you know where who’s going to depends on who’s going to be be here here who’s going to whether team going to be healthy or not like the next couple games going to determine a lot especially the the Thunder game like you mentioned that before with previous caller like how are you going to prep up against the against the Thunder who their team is likely like 20 like 24-1 like how are you going to you know continue you know how you trip with that team because that’s going to be a very very huge task for them. Yeah, I I mean that was an extreme example. I mean the Thunder are just ridiculous. But it’s you know the point is like how can they stay up tempo against a team like that, you know, like will Joel’s knee be able to hold up and move around and you know can he play 3540 minutes a game? He’s going to have to against a team like that, you know. Yeah. And I I opponents would agree and you know it’s just it’s a lot of lot of question a lot of questions and you know you’ve seen both like different sides like you know if one person’s out then this person this game player is a good game you’ve seen another person was out we have another good game from that from that side like we have two sides of teams that you know can play really good without the other. It’s about what can they do together. Yep. Like what can they do together? Yeah, you’re exactly right, man. And that’s going to be the test now for the next however much. I mean, I’m glad they’re getting a little bit of rest here, but tough stretch coming up, man. So, we’ll see. Yep, for sure. All right, man. Cool J, appreciate you calling in as always, my guy. Thanks for waiting on the line. Turn me in. Shout out Cool J on the Discord. Fire callers tonight, man. Drop the fires in the chat. That’s why I love going to the phones and hearing from the people, man. Cuz I’m up here. I’ve been talking for four and a half hours. Who’s doing it like us, man? This community. I mean, I just love it, man. I love it. We are building something special. Four and a half hours of me talking and then you guys chime in and do your thing, man. Pregame, live game, postgame, every game. Um, hey man, other than that, I don’t have much else to say on this one. We will be back on Sunday as the Sixers try to get their revenge against the Atlanta Hawks. That was a tough game in double overtime a few weeks ago. So, uh, the Sixers have now won five out of their last seven games. They are 14 and 10. They are in the top five of the Eastern Conference, but we’ll see if they can replicate this on Sunday. Anyway, man, this is the Sixers postgame live show presented by Sleeper right here on a Sixers game day live show. So, y’all know what to do. Like it, subscribe, turn the noties on, follow us everywhere. We do it every single game. Great chat tonight. Great callers, man. Shout out to the mods, the members, Daniel in the chat. Busy, uh, our boy Nelly’s in here. Cool J Dom, John Monroe, everybody chiming in tonight, man. It was a good one. Vintage Joel Embiid and a Paul George master class. Sixers pull off late, get the win 115 105. Enjoy the rest of your night, man. Catch you on the next one. Peace.
