  1. I can’t even fathom what it’s like being a Blackhawks fan and seeing a line with DeBrincat & Kane in Wings jerseys come in and curb stomp Chicago…

I tried coming up with different scenarios to wrap my mind around the gut punch level I’d personally feel; I think Trammell & Whitaker joining the Yankees and beating the Tigers in Tiger Stadium circa 1990, combining to get 5 hits in 8AB as well as a Trammell-to-Whitaker-to-Mattingly bottom of the 9th game ending double play might do it.

  2. We may have missed out on one Canucks defenseman, but would anyone be interested in a Hronek hreunion?

  3. Happy we didn’t trade for Hughes in the end for purely sentimental reasons. I love seeing players growing with the same team long term.

  4. I hope that guy who went to the game with like 5 friends who are Chicago fans feels vindicated

  5. Underrated part of our team:

The players really like each other.  If we traded one of the bonded pairs, it could destroy the vibes.

    – Pat and Cat
    – Mo and Ray
    – Ed, Burgers, AlJo and Soda
    – Finnie and Danny

Come to think of it, we really need to bring MBN back to get ASP’s vibes to the top tier.

    Edited: Typo

  6. Opening x today and reading that zeev buium is better than asp because * checks notes * buium plays sheltered minutes and that’s the entire reason van choose to deal with MIN and it’s totally not because min also gave van their second line center

  7. Man some people on this sub whine about ‘not having a superstar’ despite Ray’s incredible underlying stats, a top 10 RD in the league, a top ten D pairing in a league with a fucking 22 year old on it, Larkin continuing his career season, and 2 players on pace for fourty goal seasons. Like, is it FOMO? Is it just the grass is greener mentality? Other teams best players are good because they’re not here?

Also i don’t know what the fuck a superstar means to yall, its never defined. Just used in some nebulous way.

  8. The Wings are playing well right now. Just for that reason alone, I’m glad Yzerman didn’t break it up. Like it took 30 games to get everyone on the same page, but it finally happened.

  9. I quite enjoyed last night. Felt like the Wings before the drought started. You knew they were probably going to win. Very businesslike and relatively stress free.

  10. Is there a realistic player currently we could trade for? Sure throw out your LHD suggestions, but let’s say we get a Center 1 or Center 2?

  11. We are a GOALIE WAGON:

    1. Sebastian Cossa: **12W (1st), 1.62GAA (2nd), 939%(2nd), 3SO(1st)** – the best goalie in the AHL so far (Murashev ahead has played 2 less games with the exact same stats essentially). His third shutout last night is now tied for 1st in the league, and the most he has ever had in a season (2025 – 1, 2024 – 2). Backstopping the best team in AHL history (90 years) through 23 games. Favorite for the Baz Bastien Memorial award.

    2. Trey Augustine: **10W (5th), 1.71GAA (1st), 937% (1st), 3SO (1st)** – the best goalie in NCAA this season so far. Playing in the toughest conference by far this year, backstopping the #3 ranked team in the country. Favorite for the Mike Richter award.

    3. Rudy Guimond: **18W (1st), 2.23GAA (2nd), 927% (2nd), 2SO (2nd)** – The goalie ahead of Rudy has only played 11 games compared to Rudy’s 23. Rudy is the best goalie in the Q this season picking up where he left off last year backstopping one of the best teams in the country. He is 20, where most players are 17-19, but still a great sign. Comparing his stats to the WHL and OHL as well, Rudy would be #1 in the W, and top #1-3 in the O. There is strong arguments to say he is the top goalie in the entire CHL and a favorite for the CHL Goalie of the year award.

    4. Michal Pradel: **9W (10th), 2.46GAA (7th), 916% (3rd), 3SO (1st)** – Michal has come out strong as of late with 2 back to back shutouts, the later against the best team in the country. One thing to highlight about Michal is that he is playing for a Tri-City team that is ranked 12th of 16. He is carrying the team on a lot of nights and still putting up top 3 statistics. Alot of guys ahead of him have also played on average 8 games fewer which gives an advantage to Michal. All in all to say he is one of the best goalies in the USHL at 18, and likely will be the starter for Slovakia at U20.

    5. We also have Michal Postava & Carter Gylander in the AHL who are putting up strong numbers as Cossa’s backup. Postava in particular has finally been activated from injury yesterday so we hope to see him continue his elite play in the AHL. Postava is a dark horse for NHL action, and Gylander looking like a solid depth piece.

    6. John Gibson this week went 3-0-0 with a 1.00GAA, 970%, and 2SO. Likely will win goalie of the week honors, and potentially returning to form?

    7. One down side to note really is that of ALL the goalies in our system (7), Landon Miller appears to be the only weak link, playing for a strong SSM team in the OHL with average goalie statistics at best.

Overall though….are we ever a goalie wagon this year, best goalie prospect pool BY FAR.

  12. Ok, in fairness, Chicago was a hot mess last night. Like, boy, did they look awful.

But. Detroit never gave us even a second when they looked shaky or like they might make the game needlessly dramatic (unlike Calgary lol). Credit to them, because those moments don’t come very often for this Wings team. Another step in the right direction.

Also, hoping that ASP on that Finnie goal was a brief and blinding preview of things to come, because wow.

  13. Gibson chose a good time to string a few good games together.

I mean, any time would have been a good time, but that doesn’t matter. 🙂

  14. Might be a little overshadowed because of the slow start and Schaeffer being insane at 18, but ASP is now officially tied for 60th in D scoring

  15. I keep thinking about the bottom pair… would be nice to kick the tires on a Broburg/Kessel deal. Also, anyone have any recommendations for a single room humidifier lmao.

  16. Kinda remarkable Gibson has only been scored on in one period out of the last 9 he’s played in.

I can see the improvements he made with his mechanics but I have no idea how or why he suddenly turned it around.

  17. Hearing 18,000 people chanting “Green Bay Sucks” last night helped restore just a little of my hope for humanity’s future.

  18. ASP has played very well the past 4 games now! Hoping he’s adjusted to the NHL and is able to keep this up.

  19. Now is important. Second toughest schedule moving forward. Young team learning to win. Need to be a swarming juggernaut of aggression every night.

  20. So I think what we’re seeing is

Alex DeBrincat on a bad team: Lots of goals, not many assists

Alex DeBrincat with some decent players around him: Lots of both

  21. So, uh. Is USA *really* going to scrape together reasons not to send Jason Robertson to the Olympics?

  22. Watching Simon and Mo absolutely dominate in person last night was incredible. One of the best pairings in the NHL and they are so young. Once we figure out second pair LHD, our defense is going to be real good for a long time.

  23. Debrincat is 4th in points and 2nd in goals for US born players in the NHL. If he gets snubbed that is a crime.
