Celebrini Talks Comeback Win, Standing Up for Smith | Sharks @ Penguins Post-Game (12.13.25)

So, Mlin, a huge uh change in the game, you know, after that hit on Gold Smith. Can you take us through what you saw there and and how you guys all sort of united behind each other? Yeah, I mean, I don’t think any of us like to see one of our teammates go down and um kind of take a hit like that. So, I think uh Aki did a good job kind of jumping in there and I just felt like I had to have his back. And it was seemed like it was all but done. you know, it’s what 52 minutes something into the game already and you guys are down what by four goals. So, when did you guys start to feel, hey, you know, this game we’re still in and uh we can potentially win it. I mean, I think we had chances all game. Um, obviously they uh their power play is the best in the league and they they uh they have something special going over there, but I think we just did a great job just kind of staying with it. um playing as a team, kind of playing up and down our lineup even when uh we kind of got those injuries and um it was a group effort. So the second period you guys had a great start to the game for sure, but then you know maybe later on in the first period you could start to feel the momentum change a bit and in the second period they they pretty much sort of dominated that period but then after that I think Clingberg scored that first goal in the third but then that hit was kind of the whole turning point. Would you say that? I thought the whole game we uh had some great chances and u they just weren’t going in and obviously Clinger great job by him again. I started off there and I think just kind of things rolled from there. What’ you see on the OT pass to him? I mean he uh gave me a chance like that earlier and I I didn’t score so I felt like I had to give it back to him. How would you describe the resolve of this group? How would you describe the resolve of this group that you guys show tonight? Yeah, I mean we uh I mean it just shows you’re never out of a game. Um especially I mean I felt like the score didn’t really show how we were playing and um obviously we made some mistakes and gave up some chances. Um but I mean I thought we just did a great job sticking with it, especially when things didn’t go our way. What can you say about John Clingber? You know, he’s faced some criticism this year, but this road trip, four goals in four games just, you know, been a rock for you guys there. Yeah, I mean we all love Cllingian. Um obviously he he’s finding his game. He hasn’t played a lot of hockey the last couple years with all the injuries that he’s dealt with and um that’s the nature of it. You’re going to get kind of ripped on, but I mean he’s just done a great job of uh kind of finding it and I mean he’s been unbelievable for us the last couple games and um his production and stuff that he doesn’t even um get credit for. You know, as sick the last few days and you know tonight he came back in. What do you thought about his overall performance? Yeah, I mean he was kind of out of it for the last couple days. um obviously going through what he went through and uh I think he just did a great job coming back. He uh it’s not easy missing that kind of time and not skating for a couple days and then jumping into a game like that where you’re faced with 45 shots but um I mean I think that that goes to our whole group was battling especially him. That hit that Will took of was it the you know something you like was high or just the result of it that you just saw there? Um, like I said, I mean, when there’s a hit like that, um, I think it’s just you you hate to see one of your teammates go down. Um, I think that’s just I mean, anyone would have done that if, uh, it happened to any guy on our team. I think, um, that’s the kind of group we have and how close we are. Thanks, M. Um,

  1. As a Penguin’s fan, I’m absolutely disgusted. So sick of watching them blow leads. As a Macklin Celebrini fan, I loved what I saw. Can’t wait to see him and Sid team up again for the OIympics.
