The fact that it’s coming from Helene Elliott is big. She’s probably the only journalist in LA who can be big enough for the kings to take notice. Not that any of our other beat writers are bad, but she’s big.

Yeah. Something is obviously wrong, offensively. As she said, this road trip will be the indicator on whether hiller stays or goes.
I think this team is mentally tough, and despite Hiller, can get things on track on this road trip.
That still doesn’t solve the home ice issues & their putrid offense.
Sometimes a change is necessary to shake things up & get someone who’s going to coach up the younger guys & implement a more productive offensive system. And trade for some creative playmakers? Idk 🤷🏻♂️
So cathartic to read somebody writing down exactly how we all have been feeling this whole season.
I think the team is in for a painful few years. Our center depth is non-existent with Kopi retiring and we’re locked in to a blue line that’s only going to get older and slower as the years move on.
There are some bright spots with our younger players showing good potential and a solid goalie pipeline so I think a good GM could have this team competitive again in a few years without fully bottoming out. Unfortunately, Ken Holland didn’t come out of retirement to do a rebuild and I have no faith in his ability or desire to navigate the next few seasons
Haven’t been less into a season than this year. Normally go to several games and watch most on tv.. have only brought myself to watch maybe 1/4 of the games and haven’t attended any. There’s just nothing there no effort nor excitement of anything with this current team. And that the organization could care less about it.
Everyone should be following Ms. Elliott on Substack.
The problem is that Holland is living in his own fantasy land. Letting Gavrikov go to replace him with Ceci is such an incredibly stupid move, it’s hard to imagine that guy is running the club.
Except trying to do something will rid of any of the futures they have. They have to blow it up next year and build around Kempe, Byfield, Clarke, Anderson, and Laffy while moving away from the defense-over-offense philosophy that they’ve had for decades.
They committed to a retool and that has been a failure. They have to rebuild the right way.

I remember when she wrote off the Kings down 0-3 to the Sharks calling for a full rebuild during their second Stanley cup run.
I’m actually shocked she still gets paid to publish articles on hockey.
