In a report published by the Denver Business Journal in November uncovered first hints at a possible reality for a new practice facility for the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets due to construction details surrounding Ball Arena. In recent plans submitted by KSE there has been a new addition to the project called “Arena Expansion”.
In a formal site development plan for the first phase of the Ball Arena development, Ball Arena and the area directly surrounding the home of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets is labeled with “Arena Expansion.”
There are no descriptions as to what arena expansion means in the plan. KSE said the company is identifying the best use of the arena and the space around it.

Not much info, but this is the first indication in the actual plans for the forthcoming redevelopment that Ball will get something, potentially the long awaited practice facility.
They deserve a nice practice facility!! We enjoy going to watch practice but the current facility is worn.
Thank God if true, Family Sports Center is a dump they deserve better
Just a crazy late night thought…what if part of the reason the Avs are as good as they are is BECAUSE they practice on subpar ice??? NHL ice surfaces undergo multiple facility changes, and are not known for having “great ice”…and it’s been said to “take the test the way you study” as it were. A master of craft doesn’t blame their tools/conditions, they adapt.
