This is DEVASTATING…
This is devastating as a St. Louis Blues star Ford goes down with a brutal injury in practice. Jim Montgomery gives a huge update on the situation while also diving into one player returning from injury. There’s so much to break down around the St. Louis Blues heading into the remainder of the season as we have multiple updates surrounding the team. But before we get into that, Darius, I want to give a huge shout out to everyone watching and we’re trying to reach a goal of 5,000 subscribers. Want to give a huge thank you to 4,969 nice of you guys watching this. We’re trying to reach a goal of 5,000 subscribers before the end of the day. So, make sure to go down and hit it if you want to stay up to date on everything to do around your St. Louis Blues. But with that, let’s just dive straight into it today. And listen, there’s multiple updates. I do want to hit on the positive one first where we do see Torchenko said he’s ready to return to the lineup for the Blues tomorrow. Jim Montgomery did speak on Dylan Holloway. We’re going to dive into that a little more in a bit, but Darius, what’s your thoughts on getting Torbchenko back into this lineup? A big body that had a big impact on that fourth line. Yeah, they need bodies back in the lineup at this point and guys who have NHL experience because, you know, a couple firsts in the NHL and obviously Logan Mayu scored. He’s playing defense, so that doesn’t really, you know, affect the forward group. But couple of these guys coming up from Springfield, they’re good stories, but I think they need more of the regulars back in the lineup to see if they can continue to climb up the standings. And I made a video the other day saying, “Hey, it’s it’s pretty much cooked.” Like they’ve shown us who they are at this point. But to at least, so if they still want to salvage this season, they’re going to need regulars back in the lineup. So that’s a step in that direction if they want to go that way. But I still think that Doug Armstrong’s going to have to do something pretty soon here coming up. So, uh, that’ll be interesting to keep an eye on. But good for Torpchko. Obviously, freak injury. It wasn’t one that he sustained on the ice. Uh, there’s been a lot of those around the league this year. So, he’ll be back in the lineup, which is good news. And again, they’re going to need him and some regulars back because, you know, there’s some points that they’ve been leaving on the table that they need to pick up this week. And that’s a big thing. I mean, looking quickly at the Western Conference, we can see the wild card rates. The Blues aren’t that far out. Obviously, you need to get consecutive wins. You got to try to actually win three in a row, which they have not done this season, but Darius, it falls back into this reoccurring thing with the St. Louis Blues having a pera of injuries within this lineup. You can see the list there. Of course, Torchenko is going to come off this going into next game, but that falls straight into the update we got coming today from Lou where he says not what the Blues needed. If you look, Dylan Holloway was not putting any weight on his leg and was tripped and helped off the ice. Now, Dylan Holloway a huge part of this team. We know he had a bit of a rough start to start the year last year having a career year with 63 points with the St. Louis Blues before going out with an injury in the playoffs. Darius, just looking at this, we see Jim Montgomery say himself that he has no idea if Holloway will be able to play tomorrow. We’ve seen him save. We don’t know if this is daytoday or a bigger issue. What is your thoughts on just seeing this terrible and devastating injury happen in practice? This is awful. And obviously Dylan Holloway, first of all, you never want to see this, right? Like this is devastating, especially in practice. But um you know, Dylan Holloway hasn’t necessarily had the season that I think we were all expecting. And a lot of people were saying I was overestimating him. I mean, if you look at the track record and everything he’s done the last couple of years, yes, I was expecting big things. I’m expecting him to be a point a game player. So, he hasn’t had the season that I think, you know, many people have expected to this point, but he has been able to produce some points here and there. Uh, at times he does look like a differencemaker, right? There’s certain games where he does absolutely look like a difference maker. Uh, he’s still up there in points in terms of the the entire team, which is pretty crazy considering uh how little scoring that they have on this team, but it is pretty even uh up and down the lineup. Um, obviously a big part of this team, was a big part of this team last year. You know, getting injured is one thing in practice and maybe missing sometime. They have no update on him right now. Obviously, it just happened, but he was putting no weight on it. He had to be helped off. These are not good signs, right? So, will he be added to this list of, you know, injuries that the Blues have going on right now? I mean, this is absolutely devastating. The last thing that this team needed and this season’s been a weird one, Mark. I mean, like, everyone’s getting hurt, not just the Blues, obviously, but around the league. It’s a condensed schedule. Teams are having to change their practices because you don’t have that many practices because you’re playing so many games, right? And it is another busy week coming up here. So, um, you know, this is absolutely devastating for Dylan Holloway. Hopefully, he was okay and it just looked worse than it actually is. But, uh, it it didn’t look good, that’s for sure. So, we’ll see what happens. They have to pick up some big points this week. And if they have to do it without Dylan Holloway as well as, you know, Snugaroo, Kyu, all these guys, it’s not good news. And I think that’s the big thing. Listen, Dylan Holloway has dealt with some injuries throughout his career. A lot of them freak accidents. And I mean, this one, just seeing the fact that he could not put any weight on his leg, just getting helped off the ice completely, it’s not a good sign. And listen, we hope that it was maybe just a Charlie horse. He gets right back onto the ice going into tomorrow. But seeing all this add up, it’s hard to look at. I mean, the big thing is we seen him jump Jordan Cyro, who is currently injured in second in team scoring. Then we see Dylan Holloway go down. Of course, this is a team that is riddled with injury bugs. Like you said, a condensed schedule is causing a lot of teams to be without their star players or any players it feels like. I mean, even just looking at the Blues, like you said, anyone within this lineup, a topline winger, a young star in the making and snug, you see multiple fourthliners. This includes Krue that of course was a season or career ending injury. Darius, looking at this and just how the Blues are looking right now. We know Dylan Holloway was stationed straight on that second line with Shenna and Joseph. This is going to get weird now. You’re going to have to bring someone up. Get someone else in this lineup. You already have two guys from Springfield brought up. You have D’vorski that is going to be a full-time player this year. Of course, Fabri was just signed on a contract for the first time in quite some time with the Blues. Do you think they look at maybe bringing up a guy like Otto Stemer, get one of these young guys in the lineup, or do you think they’re going to maybe even run an extra defenseman? I mean, Matthew Kessle has not been in this lineup. Maybe just run the seven defenseman with one less forward. Yeah, I think it’s interesting like what they’re planning to do moving forward and I think we’ll get some more clarity on that once they know what’s going on with Holloway. But to your point of like bringing up Stenberg and stuff like that, you know, I think I mentioned it very briefly last week that uh I don’t know if they’re going to do that. And there’s a reason that I think Matt Luff, I mean, he’s been playing well and he, you know, the player of the month and all that stuff, but uh there’s a reason guys like that are getting called up rather than a Stenberg and and some of those players because they want them to continue their development down there in Springfield. And it’s not like Springfield’s an amazing team or anything like that either, but they want them to, you know, not have to stress about being yo-yoed in and out of the lineup and down between the NHL and the AHL. Just focus on your game. That’s why, you know, McIn’s being called up. That’s why Matt Luff was called up. That’s why they signed Robbie Fabri, who, by the way, in, you know, since he’s been here looks like their best forward, which is also problematic in its own way. But, uh, that’s been a nice story as well. But I I think that’s a reason why they’re not calling up a guy like Stenberg. They’re waiting till the last minute. And the reason like a D’vorski did get called up and you know he’s been in the in the lineup is because he was like a tweener anyway. He was on the border of being an NHL player anyway and they knew he was right there. He just needed to to kind of break through and needed a reason to be in the lineup and he is an everyday NHLer at this point. But I think that’s why they haven’t made a move like that quite yet so they can continue like some of those players developments and obviously you know other guys like Luff have been around different team stuff like that. So, I think they’re more comfortable bringing guys like that up right now. But, they need some guys back from injury and hopefully Kyrie’s back soon, right? Like that’s kind of the word as well, so he should be. But, um, yeah, they’re being bit by the injury bug bad this year. One of the worst teams, I think, in the league. Everyone’s dealing with it, that’s for sure. But definitely one of the worst teams. But, I mean, fans, what is your thoughts? What are your thoughts on the outlet going into this Christmas break? We know they’re just a couple points out of a wild card spot. They’re going to have to go on a streak to get up higher in the standings. What is your thoughts on this? Leave your thoughts down in the comments. And speaking on comments, let’s go straight into comment of the day. Going through with hallway just got hurt in practice today. If he’s out longterm, it’s time to call up Carbono. And you cannot call up Carbono. Sadly, he’s playing in the juniors right now. Darius, I don’t know if you want to speak on that because I know you love the juniors and speak on that quite a bit. Uh yeah, there’s nothing really to it. I mean, they they had him. They decided to send him down because of his age. He’s not eligible to be called back up to the NHL. He could have either made the NHL or played 10 games and then been sent back. And that’s kind of what we were talking about at the start of the year. But because of the rules, the CHL has an agreement with the NHL that certain players of a certain age cannot uh be sent back and forth because then the CHL loses their star power essentially and they’re losing more of their star power with the new agreement with the NCAA as well. Uh it’s becoming a younger league, but uh that’s basically why. So he’s done like he’s he’s stuck there. I was hoping that he was going to make the World Juniors. That didn’t happen. So he’s basically stuck in the QMJHL for the rest of the year. We’ll talk next year, right? that that’s a different story than he can be called up uh and he can play in the the AHL as well, but because of that agreement, he he can he’s kind of stuck in the QMJHL right now. They made their decision. They had an opportunity at the start of the year. He but with his age, he can’t go to the AHL and they can’t yo-yo him back up and down. But fans, what is your thoughts? Who is the first player going to be called up from Springfield in the wake of this injury? What is your thoughts on the Blues? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments and you could be featured on Comment of the Day. While you’re down there, leave a like, subscribe, share this with your friends. Holloway down. Uugh
Yep, that sucks about Holloway, but next man up mentality stars are born when a man goes down
Gotta be a forward in bc having an extra D play forward didn't help us when and where we needed it
After reading the hundreds of Blues fans comments crowing with glee about Bedard getting hurt I can’t help but think Kharma MFers.
I was watching that because I had a game before that
Keep starting Binner and tank the season!
with all these injuries this would be a good opportunity to bring up one of our prospects and see what they can do.
With all of these injuries maybe it's time to FIRE the trainer again These guys are out of shape.
Losing Holloway is a big blow. I think an underrated guy to call up is Dylan Peterson
Bring in Dillon Dube!
Sign Lucic now or acquire a goon.
uptalk much?? soft…..
