It’s crazy that they allowed William Nylander to play when he was clearly sick

2. EVERY YEAR WITH THIS EXCUSE. Teams get sick. Teams play through illnesses. Figure it out.

   The top guys need to step up. No excuses. Every team plays through illness.

6. He missed a game a week or so ago due to illness. He has migraine and vertigo issues too but he’s choosing to play. I know this subreddit is upset at him and Matthews all of the time but they’re playing through their pains. It’s admirable.

8. I’ve said this often. Your star playing at 70% is still better than the plug you’d bring in to replace him. At some point it’s a conversation with him the doc and the coach and you make a decision. Sometimes it pans out and sometimes it doesn’t.

9. Bobby Baun played a finals game with a chipped tooth. Could not bite his steak consistently for 10 days after. They were built differently back then.

16. The coaching and medical staff have to go on what the player tells them. Particularly when it comes to an illness. It’s not like an MRI can tell you whether or not a player’s illness should keep him out of the lineup. It’s up to the player to be honest with the coaches and with himself as to whether or not he should play.

20. I have been critical of him but this is 100% fair. As a player, he should always want to play. It is up to management to tell him no when he can’t go.

27. Good for him, at +$100,000 a game, they want him to play obviously. He played.
