The Dallas Mavericks are looking to remain competitive for the rest of the season

  1. What a stupid decision. No matter how good you are, OKC will sweep you. So think about Cooper and the future. Amateurs… they’re just repeating the era of Dirk and Luka.

  2. I imagine it’s because they tested the trade market for AD, and we’re not getting any offers for a good return.

The good news is he’s so injury prone it might not matter whether we “try to be competitive.”

  3. Meh I respect it, get Flagg some playoff experience early hopefully. It’s not like we were going to get a top 5 pick anyways look at how many bad tanking teams in the league.

  4. The only hindrance is “if they can stay healthy” especially the main stars (cough cough AD)

  5. look, this is either (1) posturing or (2) a genuine reaction to them being lowballed on AD offers. no matter how much people want to “keep it together” or “see the vision”, it is obvious to just about anyone that is not emotionally invested in watching wins that the Mavs need to retool around Flagg and trade some vets. This is why the Mavs have no leverage, the idea of “wanting to win now” is ludicrous to 29 other GMs.

However, the trades can’t happen if the offers are too low to be acceptable, which it seems we are trending towards. We will just have to see how things play out.

  6. I don’t think any moves are gonna be made until they see how Flagg, Kyrie, and AD look on the court together

  7. Don’t get it. For what? Dump AD and the guys who are one the opposite timeline from Coop and Nemb and get them another young gun …

  8. Honestly far better for Flaggs development than just throwing a Tank squad out there and letting him fight for most nights he can’t win. It’ll build his confidence more and teach him further resilience on how to win games when they don’t feel win able.

  9. Hard to do with Street clothes staying true to his name. Gonna be a .500 team at best the rest of the way with AD in and out of the lineup.

This is just speak to keep his value high. With his injury history, u gotta move on imo.
