🔥 HOT Texans Rumors On Jawhar Jordan New RB2, C.J. Stroud Balling Out + AFC Playoff Outlook
[Music] Welcome into Texans today everybody. I’m your host Jeremy Chugs and coming up on today’s show we’re looking at overreactions, rumors, injury news, everything you need to know after the Texans 40 to20 win over the Arizona Cardinals in week 15. And it was nice to have a game where I didn’t have a heart attack in the fourth quarter. It was nice to have a game where, you know, even though, you know, it wasn’t perfect all around, like the Texans, they had some of their struggles in this game, but overall they got off to an early lead and they coasted throughout the rest of the game. Um, basically it was the Texans versus Trey McBride. 12 receptions, 134 yards, two touchdowns. Oh my goodness. But I know I feel good this morning. And I don’t know about you, I had fun yesterday. Like I had a ton of fun watching this Texans team. This offense was scoring points. The defense got a couple turnovers, some big special teams plays here and there. I had fun watching this game yesterday. And if you agree, go down and hit that thumbs up icon, like today’s video because I mean it it’s fun having a team like the Houston Texans where you’re winning games. You have meaningful games in December and January. You can’t say that about all the teams in the NFL, but I’m proud of our guys for giving us some hope and giving us something to cheer for late in the season. Now, before we get going, if you’re new to the program, this is how I kind of break down overreactions, rumors, kind of everything in between. I use a what I call a Toro heads meter. So, if I give something zero Toro heads, fake news, it’s not happening. One Toro head, think of it like, you know, small shirt of truth. Two Toro heads, 50/50. three Toro heads. I think it’s pretty likely, but if I give something four Toro heads, it’s going down. HT Town, hold it down. All right, let’s get into all my overreactions after the Cardinals win. First up, CJ Strad is so back. He is so so back. I’m going to give this one three Toro heads. I think yes, I know what I said last week after the Chiefs win. I had a almost the identical video to this, my overreactions after the Chiefs win and I said CJ Strad needs to step up and he did just that up against the Arizona Cardinals. Three touchdowns, no interceptions. He was fantastic. Second play of the game, a dart to Nico Collins that he took to the crib. And over the past three weeks, yes, he’s been up and down, but overall we’ve seen some pretty good play from CJ Stout. He played the Chiefs team in Arrowhead on Sunday Night Football in prime time. And yes, you know, that game was, you know, so so for Straoud, but overall like 62% completion percentage, over 730 yards, four touchdowns, only one interception, a quarterback rating of 95.9, 15 rush yards. I mean, not bad. And I think each game that we see him since he came back from a concussion, I think we’ve seen him gain confidence a little bit more, a little bit more, and a little bit more. And especially this last game against the Cardinals. I know it’s the Cardinals defense. this team is not as good as prior teams that this Texans team has faced, but I think we see him gaining some of that confidence back. And yes, I know he’s still inconsistent, especially when he’s blissed. We saw that up against the Chiefs. Um, you know, it it it’s a problem whenever teams are able to get pressure on Straoud, but you see the talent, you see the potential to be great each and every single game. And that that’s what gives me hope as a Texans fan with Strad as our quarterback, one of the future. and, you know, paying him this off season. I know we’re getting ahead of ourselves talking about, you know, his contract extension, but I’m okay with the Texans extending CJ Strad, having him be our quarterback one for the foreseeable future. What say you, though? What’s your confidence level in Stout as a franchise quarterback? I’d put it in, you know, the high 80s for me. I’d probably go like 87, 88 on my end. What say you, though? What’s your confidence level in CJ Strad as the Texans franchise quarterback moving forward? Scale it 1 to 100. be honest with me down in the comments section. I’m going to be looking. I’ll be looking. Let me know down below. All right, next up, Jaw Jordan as the running back too for your Houston Texans. Actually going to give this one two Toro heads. And I’m saying, you know, people are talking because there’s something to be said about a guy who, you know, takes advantage of the opportunity when it comes to him. There was another Texans running back who was on the practice squad all throughout the year and you know got some starts at the end of the year, had some big games and ended up starting for the Houston Texans for the next couple seasons. His name was Aryen Foster. I’m not saying Jar Jordan’s Aryan Foster. Don’t don’t don’t roast me in the comment section. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying there is something to be said about when somebody gets an opportunity and they take that opportunity and make the most of it. 15 carries, 101 yards, 50 yards for his long rush of the uh day yesterday for the Texans. And he had a couple catches, too, that went for decent yardage. Jaward Jordan looked really good. He had that pop. He had that zip as soon as he touched the ball. His agility, his get off was incredible yesterday up against the Cardinals. And I don’t see how if you’re the Texans, you don’t at least keep him on the team and keep him on the roster. Kick return duties. him and Jaylen Null, I think together can be a really good duo. He was great at Louisville in the kick return game. So, if you just keep him on the roster, maybe as an RB3 option. I I know when Nick Chub comes back, he’ll probably be the RB2 option, but you know, you have a stable of Woody Marx, Jaw, Jordan, Nick Chub, and then Amba Walle when you need him on certain situations. I think you throw the kid into the mix. I think he showed his stuff yesterday. I think he at least earned a shot to prove himself further along. And especially with the injuries to Woody Marks, Nick Chub, why not give Jaward Jordan an opportunity up against the Las Vegas Raiders, see if he can kind of duplicate that success against another team that doesn’t have a, you know, amazing defense and I don’t know, just see what the kids got. I was really impressed with Jaw Jordan, his first NFL game yesterday. Shout out to you, Jaw. I I mean, I know I speak for a lot of Texans fans when we’re all impressed and we can’t wait to see what you can do moving forward. All right, let’s go to my third overreaction and it’s still on the offensive side of the football. The red zone is still a problem for this Texans offense. I’m going to give it two Toro heads. I’m saying we’re moving in the right direction, but it’s not completely fixed, right? We saw it yesterday. The Texans, they had some good red zone drives and they had some other drives that stalled out and you kind of shook your head and you’re like, man, we need to be able to punch some of these in. But the reason why I’m optimistic is this. The Texans, they went three for six in the red zone yesterday. And I know 50% there’s, you know, a lot to be left on the table, a lot to be desired with this Texans offense, especially down in the red zone because it seemed like they were able to move the ball pretty easily in between the 20s, right? Getting to the red zone wasn’t the problem. They got there six times yesterday. But at least I’ll say this, Nick Kaye, first year play caller, first year OC, he’s going in the right direction. And I’m not saying Nick Kaye watches my videos, but I’m not not saying that because I said this exact thing right before the Indianapolis Colts game. If you don’t believe me, go watch my video. I believe it went out November 28th. It was the Texans versus Colts preview. I said this exact thing. And what have we seen in the red zone since I said this for the past what couple games? We’ve seen Wildcat. They’ve gone Wildcat with Agumbbo, with, you know, Woody Marx, with Nick Chub. They’ve run the Wildcat. They did the tush push. They do it with Kate Stover, even though the NFL wants to screw us and call us on phantom penalties every time we try to run the tush push. I thought we’ve had a decent job at, you know, executing it whenever we’re not penalized on it. This is the one where I we haven’t really seen. I want to see more Jaylen Null in the red zone designing pick plays. you see, you know, some of these offenses, especially in the Patriots days because, you know, Nick Kaylee, he has the Patriots ties also with the Rams, but spent a lot of time with the New England Patriots. Remember Wes Welker in the red zone. You know, Julian Edelman, some of those guys who are the smaller, shiftier types being able to move in close quarters. I want to see more of those and some more pick plays with Jaylen Null. And then let Nico eat one-on-one. They’ve tested him. Whenever Nico’s one-on-one in the red zone, they’ve given him the jump ball opportunities and they’ve targeted him in the red zone. So, like I said, I’m not saying Nick Kaylee watches my videos, producer Reed, but he could. I mean, he I mean, welcome to the show, Nick Kay. That’s all I’m saying. That’s all I’m saying. Now, coming up, more overreactions up against the Cardinals after that 40 to20 win. But Monday night, if you’re trying to watch this game, I actually asked our Steelers host here, Jack Sperry. I said, “Do you have a lineup for Monday night?” He said, “I got you covered.” This is what he’s rolling with for tonight. He’s going with Devon Achan, more than 80 and a half rush yards. He’s going with Jaylen Warren. More than 47 and a half rush yards. And then Tua Tango Vioa. Just kidding. Tua Tango Viloa 27 pass yards. He’s going the less on that. Even though TJ Watt is out um for tonight. He sustained a lung injury. Will be out for a couple weeks. He thinks two is not going to ball out tonight. Price picks. It’s good to be right. All right, let’s go to my next overreaction. This was the worst game by the Texans defense this season. No, it wasn’t. I’ll give it two to our heads. It wasn’t the best game the Texans defense played. And you know, De Mo Ryan even came out and said so himself. Like Demo Ryan after this Texans game said, “We left a lot of plays out there. We have to keep playing up to our standard. That’s the way we judge ourselves against our standard. The standard is the standard. It doesn’t change. So we’ll continue to look at the tape and try to get better.” Tamiko said, you know, we it wasn’t our best game. And you know, the Texans defense that’s been number one in the NFL in terms of points against this year. We’re talking about one of their worst games in a game that they gave up 20 points, right? 20 points against the Cardinals. We’re saying this is one of the worst games they’ve had for a lot of defenses in the NFL. This would be one of the best games they’ve had, right? Uh I mean, I showed you the stats for Trey McBride earlier. He was basically the Cardinals offense. And you know, maybe the Texans could have done a better job of taking him out of the game, but at the end of the day, you get two turnovers, you limit them to 3.4 yards a carry, only 235 yards in the air. Like, it’s not like this Texans defense got lit up. They were able to move the ball in this Texans defense a little bit, which I know we’re not really used to this season, but overall, like, the Texans had an okay game on defense, which is okay because it was time for the offense to step up and show show themselves. the defense had been carrying the team all year. So, it was nice to see one game where the defense, not that they slacked off, but they didn’t have their best game, but the offense was like, “You know what? We got your back. We’re going to play our A+ game. Maybe maybe not their A+, but you know, A minus B+ game and really help this Texans team get a dub.” Overall, like I’m glad Demo realized, you know, this defense, you know, can play better. Um, fun factoried. I was looking the most points scored against the Texans this year, 29 points in that win over Jacksonville where Davis Mills came back and won it late. That’s the most points the Texans have gave up this year. 29 points. They have not let a team score 30 on them all season long. Now, before the game yesterday, the Texans released this photo and they posted it with the caption Swarm City Steppas. And we’ve all been talking about, you know, what is going to be the Texans nickname for this defense? and very uh mixed reaction. I I asked our live show yesterday, Reed, how you feel about Swarm City Steppas? And it was a very mixed bag. And they they always say like if you try to give yourself your own nickname, it doesn’t always really work. Like you can’t be like, “Yo, my name’s Jay Dog.” People are like, “I don’t know about that.” I feel like some I feel like somebody has to call you Jay Dog and then you’re like, “Oh, exactly. Somebody has to call you Jeremy Chugs.” can’t just be like, “Yo, name’s Chugs.” Doesn’t really work like that, right? Doesn’t work. So, let me know. How do we feel about Swarm City Steppas, the nickname for the Texans defense? Go down and grade it A, B, C, D, or F. Be honest with me. Grade the uh self-imposed nickname that the Texans are giving their defense. Um, we might have to do a poll here on the channel here soon about Yeah, if you’re giving it an F, give me an F and then give me whatever nickname you think the Texans defense should have. I’m I’m going to run a poll later on here on the channel community tab to see what what nickname we want the Texans defense to have. And maybe uh maybe we’ll decide online of what the nickname this Texans defense should have more than Swarm City. It should be named by the fan base, right? We we should have a say in this. So, let me know down below in the comments section. Let’s go to my next overreaction. Frank Ross deserves his flowers. If you don’t know who Frank Ross is, he is the special teams coordinator for the Houston Texans. For Frank Ross, you know, like look at this guy. He’s got passion. He’s got, you know, everything you want as a like a coordinator, position coach, a assistant on the team. Does Frank Ross deserve his flowers? You bet your ass he does. I’m going to give this one for Toro heads that he deserves his flowers because you look at yesterday’s game, the Texans, they had a fumble recovery on kickoff. It was the second, you know, it was going to be the Cardinals first drive. That set the tone for the entire game. That fumble recovery and then the Texans score again. They go up 10 to zero on the Cardinals. That set the tone for the rest of the game. Also, you had a 69yd kickoff return. Nice by Jaylen Null. Like Frank Ross, he is one of the coaches that is a glue guy in this locker room. He’s also somebody who I think is one of the better special teams coordinators in the entire National Football League. Kaami Fairbar also was clutch yesterday kicking his field goals. So overall, Frank Ross, the special teams unit, deserves their love. They, you know, the Texans, I say more than other teams, really focused on adding guys for special teams. They added, you know, everybody was like Demone Clark, why why are they adding this linebacker from the Cowboys? He made a bunch of plays on special teams yesterday. They have guys like Jay Canson who they extended are big special teams uh presences for this Texans team and they really focus on that. Frank Ross, you deserve your flowers. Shout out to you. Give that one four Torah heads. Lastly, the Texans, they clinched the playoffs yesterday. Not quite. I’m going to give it two Torah heads. They’re on their way to clinch the playoffs. I’ll say that. A win yesterday was massive, plus a Colts loss was really big. I kind of wish the Patriots would have been able to hold out on the um Buffalo Bills yesterday. But as we stand, the Texans, they have their own future in their hands right now. Still clinging on to that seventh uh spot in the wildard round. And you know, overall, like I said, you control your destiny. You have a game up against the Raiders this week. You got to win that. You’re looking good. and then the week after that you play the Chargers. If you beat them, you clinch a playoff spot. If you win your next two games up against the Raiders and then the Chargers, you would jump over them for that playoff spot. And not that it would make week 18 meaningless because I think you would still want to, you know, fight for that win, fight for that last, you know, possibly jocking for position with the Buffalo Bills, but I like like come on. like you have your own destiny in your hands. You have three games to prove yourself. Three games to clinch this playoff birth and do something. And I know I’ve said this since week three, probably over 200 times. The Texans are the only team in it since the year 2000 to go 0 and3 and make the playoffs. That was back in 2018. They have a chance to do it twice since the year 2000. Go 0 and3 and still make the playoffs. Make it happen. Let’s finish this season on a high note and let’s go into the playoffs with our heads held high looking at the mountaintop. How about that? I liked fun however, not at the expense of the defense..that’s our identity against good teams so I want that to do good
I think stroud is the franchise qb, if they can get a little bit better in the O Line then believe stroud can be one of the best
"F" ..They should be called "The Wild Bunch"
Nickname is a C, should be the Swarm City Sting
F………x6
If we can’t keep C.J. we still got Money Mills 🤑
The steppas part is not needed. I rather have something more towards hunting or bulls. The swarming stampede, The hunting swarm, Suffocating swarm. Ryans always talks about hunting so I kinda want that in the name if possible
Our O coordinator still sucks. Them wild cats plays are HORRIBLE
Swarm or just Swarm City would be so much better
THE SWARM!!!
I think “Swarm City” by itself is perfect
95
THE SWARM
Confidence in CJ7 92…. Confidence in O Line 45….. If they can find away to consistently give him 4-5 sec to throw the ball I know CJ could make great decisions but having 2-3 second to look then running for his life while still looking up field isn't going to win us a championship.
100
Take off “Steppas”
It’s not necessary D
Texans lost two DBs (Settle Jr and Edwards Jr) for the season, who will they replace?
If we can sign CJ less than 50mil/year im fine with him.
What is the deal with mixon, tank dell
Jordan looked good, but I wouldn’t go overboard on him. If you take his 50-yard run out of his stats, he only averaged 3.5 yards per remaining carry. Even with that, though, I’d rather see him out there than a banged up Nick Chubb.
Grade "D".
How about, Sudden Impact, Houston Bad Bulls, Bully Fighting Bulls, Stampede Terror, Bull-headed Bulls,
No-brakes Defense, or Extreme Contact, Houston's Headhunters.
Ngl he need to be RB3 woody do alot tbh woody pick up blitz catch out the back field a lot Jordan did great tho I was like man but it is the cardinals so idk
That was not a balanced Houston Texans and Jacoby Brisett had too good of a game against the Texans. Had that turnover on special teams not occurred that game could have been close. They were very off balance. We gave up way too many points and if they play like that against the Broncos, we will be sent home.
Call Anderson Jr and Hunter " The Smother Brothers" lol
Jawhar is like Noel, they could be really good players and could contribute a hell of a lot more if they were just used more often. I have NO IDEA WHY Jaylin Noel isn’t used WAY MORE than on special teams. That young man has great hands and speed. I don’t know who he pissed off but, they need to get F over it and give him way more playing time!!!
This was definitely one of the few games this year that was a blast to watch and didn't create a cardiac episode. Good to see the defense get to take their foot off the gas a little so they aren't gassed by playoff football.
Still think Strouds our guy. Get some help on the line and were good. Needs to spread it around more. Im liking Higgins he needs more touches.
I want clock management more that big plays. Big plays are awesome and really feel great. Especially, in tight situations. But I like to keep our defense rested and more important, in rhythm. The win was awesome. The lead was in command. However, we were not controlling the game flow. We were totally off balance and we couldn’t stop the Brissett. That style of Texans football will completely taken advantage of by a more worthy team.
😅 Pardon my doom and gloom on this victory Monday.
Give an extension to will and pick up cjs 5th year option
Sounds like a dance crew or a line dance.
Swarm city hitters
