You’re a great sports analyst, the city will always love you, you were mistreated towards the end there – but you’re good man.
Maybe a 1 year, 3rd string for next year, play a preseason game for the funsies.
But I would much rather see you take on a coaching role or maybe a coordinator role instead.

The follow up to that quote was Matt telling a story about going on vacation with Stafford who wanted him to work on some passes with him. So Stafford would throw some passes to Ryan. Ryan would throw it back. That gave him the itch to throw it himself so he started firing off some legit passes with Stafford catching. He then said the next day his shoulder and oblique were both completely fucked and he couldn’t go full force anymore. He told the same story on a podcast with a little more detail, but that was the jist of it.

I think Matt could do it. He takes better care of himself than Rivers. I’d be pissed if he did it anywhere other than Atlanta, but I really don’t want him to do it at all.
I mean.. we can’t really afford anyone anyway so if Penix will be out going into the season sure why not let Matty go out there and give it a try while giving Penix some mentorship.
