Sean McDermott makes his case for Josh Allen to be MVP

He is. No one would swap WRs with us, making him the de facto MVP. They’ll give it to Stafford, but let’s not forget the talent disparity. Seems awfully similar to MV3 bs
“I don’t do a very good job of knowing what’s going on around the league”
I’m sorry, what? As a coach aren’t you supposed to be game planning and watching film on other teams and preparing for them? How are you not paying attention to what’s going on around the league?
If the Bills somehow win the Division and Allen plays lights out during that stretch and if Stafford has a couple really bad games, then maybe he has a chance. However, at this point, who cares? Josh has an MVP on the mantle.
McDermott wouldn’t have a job if not for Allen
If he continues to play the way he has lately – who else is gonna beat him out?
He definitely is the MVP and should win it again this year, I don’t think they gonna give it to him though. If the Rams get the 1 seed, I can’t imagine Stafford not winning it (except maybe if he has at least two very bad games). Hope I’m wrong though since I really think Josh has earned it already.
This is a quote from last year if I’m recalling it correctly.
If you don’t consider other teams I’d say he’s a pretty obvious choice.
Crazy to think after the October we had, but yeah: he’s firmly in this MVP race.
They’ll probably give it to Stafford, though — which I wouldn’t mind. At least it won’t be that flake “””””Drake Maye”””””.
“Or for mine and Brandon’s job security “
This 1000%-
Would we ever want Stafford over Josh? Would any team? Of course not. Stafford is a product of his coach, scheme and wr corp. Josh is a standalone product.
My vote about 5 weeks ago was Jonathan Taylor but obviously things changed and we all know how this NFL season has gone.
Today I have to say Josh … even in the Houston game when he literally was getting murdered by the defensive line he almost won it on the last drive
Its going to be Stafford, but JA has done more with less this year.
The reality is that if the rams just do what they’re doing through the end of the year, Stanford gets it as a sort of lifetime achievement award. This is fine, love me some Josh but last year also felt a bit like it was his turn to get one.
Hmmm…translation: as long as I am hc having my job saved by Allen he deserves mvp.
Not this year.
Sean McDermott would’ve been fired 5 years ago if Josh Allen wasn’t the QB.
Sean knows who butters his bread! Can he now also admit he is absolutely clueless when it comes to challenges and time outs? It’s insane that a coach in his 9th year is still this bad at knowing when and when not to challenge and just clock management in general.
Stafford’s offense is stacked. In reality regardless of who gets an award, Allen is clearly the best player in the league right now doing the most vs. the roster around him
Josh Allen should be MVP every season, he’s the epitome of most valuable for his team. Even most casual NFL fans can admit this guy is a superhero and the Bills would be irrelevant w/o him.
McD just happy Josh keeps making him, and Brady look *ok*.
“And I should know, he’s kept me in a job!”
It’s tough cause he has double the interceptions compared to Stafford
>I don’t do a very good job
Oh shit is he about to admit he’s not a good coach
>the rest of the quote.
Oh lmao
Good point because with McDUMB this team would be less than .500 without Allen.
Wait, so ge doesnt know what going on around the league??
Josh definitely leaves everything out in the field, literally and figuratively. Including a healthy chuck on the sidelines.
SB MVP has a nicer ring to it
As someone who doesn’t really follow any other team besides the Bills, can someone tell me why Stafford seems to be everyones pick? Has he played so extraordinary that it’s a given?
They can always give Stafford OPOY and Allen MVP again.
Who wins the MVP is mostly about narrative. And the narrative, at the moment, is about Stafford and Maye. He has that hardware, I’m not sure how much it matters if he has a copy. Another MVP award isn’t going to help hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
But in terms of Hall of Fame narrative, Josh is (hopefully) going to get his fifth top-5 MVP finish in 8 years. Lamar has 3, Mahomes has 3, Burrow two in six years. Philip Rivers had 1 such finish in 17 years.
Not again 😑 I remember the nasty discourse at the end of last season
“I don’t do a very good job of knowing what’s going around the league”
This tracks
If it wasn’t a purely statistical award, Josh would be the frontrunner for the MVP this year. Yes, his stats haven’t been nearly as great as it was in the past but he’s very definition of MVP. If you replaced Allen with a replacement level/game manager QB the Bills would be in the discussion for top 5 draft pick. That’s how absurdly special Allen is for this team.
” I can’t imagine another QB carrying an inept coaching staff like Josh Allen does “
McD needs to shut up. Play to win, stop the play not to lose mentality and stop talking about MVP for Josh. I’d 10000000% trade a josh MVP win for a SB win.
I love Josh. Obviously my favorite player. But Stafford is on another level this season

Here’s my case: *gestures broadly at the NFL*
“My team is ass, but thank god I have Josh Allen”
If the Bills somehow win the Division and Allen plays lights out during that stretch and if Stafford has a couple really bad games, then maybe he has a chance. However, at this point, who cares? Josh has an MVP on the mantle.
