The Mets and outfielder Cristian Pache are in agreement on a minor league deal with a non-roster invite to MLB spring training. Pache, a former top prospect, has experience at all 3 OF spots and last appeared in the majors in 2024

  1. Not a bad signing. It’s never a bad thing to have a former top prospect in your system for next to nothing.

  2. Dollar Tree version of Siri? I know his game was speed. Anything to give Taylor a run for his money for his roster spot is fine with me.

  3. Cheap minor league depth and a long shot chance at spring training. This is fine. Not major news, but fine. Very much a Stearns pickup: inexpensive, short term, potential upside but nothing really lost if it doesn’t pan out.

  4. Yes keep stacking up minor league players under the .550 OPS line for Stearns’ collection. Braves sign Suarez, Phillies sign Garcia while Stearns is winning the offseason of minor league scrubs

  5. Only the Mets get graphics and all the major reporters tweeting about minor league contracts and spring training invites lol

Honestly can’t blame them, it’s so easy engagement from the fan base on X.

  6. Wake me up when September ends, because I won’t have to deal with any more miserable Mets baseball for an entire year and a half

  7. Just once it would be fun to have the random dude who has a massive breakout outta nowhere. The reverse Jason Bay, if you will.

I guess RA Dickey was as close as I can recall to that.

  8. Good minor league signing. As I think about it, I think Pache is what Scott was worried PCA would be when he did the Baez trade. He was wrong lol. At least we’ve got good CF defense depth, won’t kid myself into thinking Pache is going to figure out major league pitching. The Mets will look like geniuses if he does though.

  9. Whatever it takes to fill our outfielder pool large enough that there’s not a chance in hell Ji Hwan Bae plays a single inning for this team

  10. I’m serious when I say that I’d be more excited if we signed bartolo colon to actually play baseball.
