MAJOR Chicago Bulls Trade Rumors Ft. Coby White

Yo, what's going on everybody? You are watching the Bulls Report by Chat Sports. My name is Patrick Seman and coming up on today's show, apparently the Minnesota Timberwolves are calling about Bulls guard Kobe White. So, I'll give you guys my thoughts on that. And also, NBA insider Brett Seagull put out a wild three team trade idea for the Bulls. Little teaser here. It may be one of the worst trade ideas I've ever seen in my life. Let's start off with the report around Kobe White potentially heading to the Minnesota Timberwolves. So, you know, this has been heavily reported for the last couple weeks that Minnesota they've been looking to get that scoring guard next to Anthony Edwards and Kobe White fits that bill 100%. So, they have been calling the Bulls have been engaging in trade talks and if I'm Chicago, you get him out of Chicago. I think Kobe White, you know, he's got a deep bag. He's obviously a very skilled basketball player. He's got pretty much every trick in the bulk uh book, but as you guys know, I'm not the biggest fan of his game because he reminds me of Zackine where they, you know, they both fall in the same bucket where they're incredibly talented offensive players, but they don't contribute to winning because Kobe White, he doesn't move the ball too well offensively. He plays absolutely zero defense and he's just a black hole with the basketball. I mean, the Bulls, they start out the season 6 and one. Kobe White comes back. The Bulls are what, five and 15 in the last 20 games. And I'm not saying he is only to blame for this, but I think he kind of messes up the mojo. He messes up the offensive rhythm and he is just a black hole just like how Zack Lavine was. Now, honestly, I think Kobe White, you can make the argument he is the most skilled basketball player currently on the Chicago Bulls. But is he a top five player in terms of contributing to winning basketball games on this team? I think absolutely not. Kobe White, he is Zack Lavine. and his numbers, you know, they look good if you don't watch the Bulls and obviously not too efficient. I mean, the fact that this guy is averaging 21 points per game in 29 minutes, but his shooting splits are as bad as they are is incredibly concerning. I mean, 43% from the field, 26.9% from downtown. He's got five assists, but 21 points a game. I mean, he stepped right back into this Bulls lineup and said, "I'm the guy. I'm the one that's going to start taking over. I'm going to be the one that's taking shots at the end of the game." He's just a selfish basketball player in my opinion. And also the thing that kind of, you know, irks me a little about Kobe White is he came back and he wasn't really in shape. Um, you can just tell by looking at his body, he looks gassed out there on the basketball floor and that's why he plays zero defense because he just spends all of his energy offensively. Not in good enough shape to play anything, you know, remotely competent on the defensive side of the ball. But a potential trade idea. Now, I don't know if the Bulls would get any sort of draft capital for Kobe White. I would hope they would, but again, he's on an expiring deal for one year, $12 million, so I don't know if a team would have too much interest in giving up future draft capital for Kobe White, but this would help match contracts. You got Dante Dvenenzo and Taran Shannon Jr. Now, Dvenzo, I don't know how much interest I would have in him, you know, being on the Bulls team. Dven is a hell of a basketball player. I just think he would make more sense if you would maybe take on Dvenenzo, trade him to another team, trade him to a contender. But Taran Shannon Jr., sign me up for Taran Shannon any day of the week. This guy's an absolute stud. I mean, if you guys are fans of Illinois basketball, you guys saw how dominant he was his senior year there. He was averaging like 24 a game. And even the playoffs last year, Terren Shannon from Minnesota, he played some good basketball. He would have multiple games where he would be the primary creator. When Anthony Edwards went to the bench and he plays defense, Danchenzo plays defense. This guy right here, Kobe White, plays no defense whatsoever. I would do whatever it takes to get him off this basketball team. Ideally, this trade idea, maybe you have the Timberwolves attach on a 2028 first round pick that's lottery protected. I don't think anybody is giving up an unprotected lottery pick for next year's draft for Kobe White considering how stacked this next year's draft class is. But Kobe White, I'm just not a fan of his game. Um, I know obviously a lot of you guys like to get on me saying, "Oh man, you're always hating on Kobe White." And you know, I hear you. I definitely think he's a polar rising player because he is an extremely talented basketball player. I just don't think he understands the real NBA game too well where he is just a black hole. He's just kind of got this losing stench around him. The same stench that Zack Lavine had. Both those guys incredible offensive talents, but in terms of contributing the winning, they're near the bottom of the barrel in the uh NBA. But you guys, let me know your thoughts. I don't think a lot of people will be a fan of this trade, but I would do this in a heartbeat. you're taking a chance on a younger player like Terence Shannon, who obviously isn't a elite defender, but he plays more defense than, you know, Kobe White does. You guys let me know this um if you guys would do this trade, give me an A for accept. You're going to be a D for decline down below. So, it's a three-team deal coming from NBA insider Brett Seagull. And don't mean to call him out too much, but I thought this was just absolutely horrific. Uh Brett, you do good work. But this was uh this is one of the worst trade ideas I've ever seen. So, it is the Warriors receiving Daniel Gaffford from the Dallas Mavericks, Iowa Dumu from the Bulls, and the Bulls attaching a second round pick. And then the Bulls in this deal would be getting Jonathan Kaminga, Trace Jackson Davis, and a Philadelphia 76ers 2030 second round pick from the Dallas Mavericks. But then the Mavericks would also be receiving Kobe White and a 2027 first. Let's just look at this for a second. Why are the Mavericks the team that is getting the first round pick? Because they're giving up Daniel Gaffford. Is that it? And the Mavericks are getting a first round pick from Golden State. I think the Bulls in this deal should be the team getting a first round pick. And the fact that the Bulls, in my opinion, in this deal, I think they're giving up the second and third or no, I think they're giving up the best player in this trade in Io Dumu and probably the third best player in this trade in Kobe White. I would probably have Gaffford ahead of them, but the Bulls, I mean, they're getting absolutely fleeced in this. And I don't know if Seagull's on drugs or anything or what the hell he was smoking before he was doing that because I still think I Dumu is one of the more underrated players in the NBA. Now, Kobe White, you guys know my thoughts on him. I think he's incredibly overrated, but shoot, man. I Dumu, this guy's an absolute stud. He's a great two-way player, great in transition. We know what he brings to the table offensively and defensively, but also Seagull, he was the same guy that was all over the Bulls hype train. Um, so I'm not I don't really think he sees the Bulls roster too too well, but you know, he had them in the top seven in his power rankings back in October. So, you know, Seagull obviously, you know, he he was just shooting shots here, but I thought this trade idea was absolutely horrific. I mean, also, I would have absolutely no interest in bringing in Jonathan Kaminga. Like, if you're the Chicago Bulls, why would you just bring in another Patrick Williams? A guy who is not that aggressive offensively or defensively kind of just gets lost out there on the basketball court. Why would you bring in Jonathan Kaminga? Because also, the Warriors, think about how desperate they are to get a 3 and D player like Jonathan Kaminga to play on their roster, and they just are trying to trade him every second they can. So that should tell you a smart organization with smart coaching and a smart front office doesn't want Jonathan Kaminga. Why would the Bulls want to take him on considering you also have Bella still at the wing spot? You still have Patrick Williams still even I mean shoot man Billy Donovan still loves running Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips out there. I just don't understand this at all from the Bulls side of things. I I would like to get a guy like Trace Jackson Davis. I think he'd be a solid backup big, but pretty much imagine the Bulls roster after this trade. You would have Zack Collins, Jaylen Smith, Nicole Vuch, Trace Jackson Davis. You would have four centers. Then you would have Jonathan Kaminga, Modis Buselis, Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry, Julian Phillips. So, four wings and then the guards on your team, it would just be Josh Giddy and Trey Jones. Like, this trade makes absolutely zero sense. And also, the Bulls aren't even the team that's getting a first round pick, but I think they're giving up two of the more valuable assets in this deal. So Brett's Eagle, you do good work. This was just uh pretty horrific. But at the end of the day, it comes back to the Bulls just being an absolute joke of a team and an absolute embarrassment to the NBA. I think they need to step in and force the Bulls to sell. Um Adam Silver, like the Bulls have the fourth lowest winning percentage since 2000. They have the fourth lowest amount of playoff wins since 2000. And this is a marquee franchise and in the one of the biggest basketball cities in the world. You got to force the Bulls to sell. I think the biggest joke in the NBA, they might be the biggest joke in all sports because are they the worst team in all sports? No. But they just love staying in purgatory. I mean, think about how bad it's been the last 20 games. You got a Bulls team that's trying to win games very desperately. And you're five and 15 in your last 20 with two losses to the Pelicans, the G-League Pistons, two losses to the Pacers. Um they also lost to Portland. Like they just have some brutal losses to them bottom feeders. I think they're the worst team in the league. Um, but if you guys think the biggest joke in the league, give me a Y for yes or an N for no down below. We'll get on out of here. As always, go Bulls.
