The Falcons Have A GOLDEN Opportunity To Do Something They Haven’t Done In 28 Years…
How often do you get a positive moose during your weekday, Falcons fans? Probably not that often. Welcome in to Falcons Today by Chad Sports. My name is Moose and like I said, the reason I'm so positive today is because not only do the Atlanta Falcons currently sit at number two in the NFL in total sacks on the season, but they're about to do something that they have not done in 28 years. I shouldn't say about to. They have the chance to, the opportunity to. They are on pace to break the franchise sack record which was set back in 1997 at 55. 28 years, you haven't gotten more than 55 sacks. Now, I do believe to start off the show that in a season where nothing has gone right for you, and nothing has gone right for the Dirty Birds, finding the things to get hyped about, especially when the season is officially and mathematically over is incredibly important. It helps the fan base to kind of heal. And I believe that's kind of what we're doing right now. We're healing. Obviously, we all want to see Raheem Morris out the window. We all want to see Zack Robinson out the window. We want a new coaching staff to coach up the talent that is currently on this team. If you want new coaching and you want to break the franchise record for sacks, you got to hit that thumbs up icon. The two things that are absolutely free on this channel, subscribing and hitting that thumbs up icon. So, do me a favor, tap it once and let us know that you support the channel. Let's talk about Blog and Dirty and what they had to say. This is one of my favorite Falcons blogs, by the way. At this rate, now this was written back about three and a half weeks ago. Atlanta is on pace to best the team record of 55 sacks from 1997. Even if they don't go that far, they'll likely be top three all time. The drastic improvement happened quite quickly under Jeff Alrich's leadership, and fans are thrilled. Well, fans are definitely thrilled about the talent that we see in this pass rush. But as far as it goes for finishing third or top three all time, they've already done that. They're tied for second actually with uh the second most that they've ever had in a season back in 2004 when Michael Vic was at the helm with 48 sacks. That means not only is this pass rush going to be a problem, not only for the remainder of the year, but for the years to come, but that means they really only have to like average what is it like two and a half, three sacks a game for the next three games. And you're going up against the Cardinals whose offensive line stinks. So, the one thing and the one area that I've given a lot of credit for, Terry Fontno and Raheem Morris and Jeff Albrech, because you cannot not give them credit for this. They identified the biggest weakness from 2024, which was the lack of getting to the quarterback. They addressed it wholeheartedly. Some might even think they addressed it too much because you put so much emphasis on getting to the quarterback with James Pierce Jr., Brandon Dorless, Jaylen Walker, that you essentially kind of forgot to play the rest of the games of football, the other two phases, offense and special teams, which have both sucked this year. So, the one thing I know is that with a competent coaching staff and a really smart defensive coordinator, I do think Jeff Albbrrich is a good candidate for this defensive coordinator job going forward. I do believe that this Falcons team has the ability next year with the right moves made to win this division. How far will that take them? That remains to be seen. I know it's not with Raheem Morris, though. They basically now have to average three sacks though to uh beat that record, which is awesome to think about because again in a season where nothing has gone right, this could be the one positive thing. And this of course is big ups, big props to my guy Jeff Albrich. He's not perfect, right? We know that from the, you know, games against the Carolina Panthers that we've seen. We know that from the run stopping defense. There is not a perfect part of Jeff Alrich's game. But I will give him credit for this. He came in with a mission. We're going to fix the pass rush. And they absolutely did. So, I do believe given that information, he's earned himself one more year as the DC for the Atlanta Falcons. I just don't know that it's going to happen. Now, coming up, we're going to talk on the offensive side of the ball. Mainly one player, but then another player that I believe needs to start in the starting lineup with only three games left. And I think you know who I'm talking about. Now, before I do that, got to tell you about our friends over at Factor. Uh, and it's good and it's bad, I guess, at the exact same time. We did not get the go-ahhead and the green light that he's going to play. Although Raheem Morris did say that he feels better this week about his status of playing rather than last week's uh against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So, we're hopeful that Drake London can play, but again, it's still kind of up in the air. Here's my ultimate take now. I've seen enough to where Drake London is just needs he just needs to be sidelined. Just keep him out for good. There's no reason to play him other than for the fans, right? like and his own contract and his own personal, you know, desire to play football, which again I'm fine with. But at the same time, if you want Drake London healthy for next year and completely healthy for next year, just let him rest it out. Let him get him his health back and let's just focus on 2026. I'll give him credit though. He's been unbelievable this year despite a unbalanced, and that's probably a very mild term of this offense. a very unbalanced offense led by Zack Robinson. Drake London has been one of the bright spots. He and Bejon have been uh kind of the go-to guys in this offense and more recently Kyle Pittz, but definitely Drake London in this specific role. Now, another thing that I think needs to be at least made aware of is that you saw the Falcons activate Chris Blair against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. Well, now it's time to activate Nick Nash and see what he's got. I liked the move of activating Chris Blair because it shows me now that it is a little bit more and a little bit closer to that talent evaluation that Raheem Morris said that the rest of the season was about. And we saw a horrendous drop from David Sills. Granted, a really clutch performance at the very end of that Tampa game from David Sills, but you saw David Sills and what he's got. Darnell Mooney continues to struggle. And then we have Devin Tomkins. We have Nick Nash. We have Chris Blair. Let's just see what the younger, newer guys got. Let's just see because it is like 2026 scouting now. That's what you're looking forward to, right? That's what talent evaluation is about, right? Seeing what the other guys have. And I wouldn't just activate them and put them in on a package of 12 plays. Let them play 30 snaps. What else do you have to lose? You can still play Kyle Pittz. You can still play Darnell Mooney, but let the other guys showcase their ability because in the event that next year you're getting ready to draft a wide receiver, if you see that there is improvement from Blair or improvement from Nick Nash, then maybe you don't have to address that position more than once in the draft or in free agency. It doesn't just mean giving the fans what they want. This type of talent evaluation can bleed into free agency and into your draft plans. It all makes sense. That's why I'm doing it. It's not just a I want to see it cuz I want to see it. That that's that's foolish. And I would never just give you that kind of information. So, if you want Nick Nash to start against the Arizona Cardinals, type Y for yes or type N for no. I'm typing my Y for yes. Selfishly, I want to see Nick Nash play. This was the guy who was what, second in receiving in 2024 for the entirety of NCAA Division 1. I mean, the guy was literally the number one option. Granted, on a really bad, you know, college football team, but still, it it it looks to me like Raheem Morris and Zack Robinson are slowly kind of coming around to what Falcons fans are asking them to do. Slowly, I say it's not a complete, you know, like, hey, we're listening finally, but it is getting there inch by inch. That's all I got for you on today's episode. A reminder to hit that subscribe button, like today's video, and as always, rise up and be cool.
Atlanta Falcons news today surrounds the one area that the Atlanta Falcons continue to impress in this football season, their pass rush. Falcons Today host Trace Moustakas explains how the Falcons can break their franchise record in sacks, which they haven’t done since 1997 when they totaled 55. Moose claims that during a season where there’s so much to be upset about, you have to find the silver lining where you can. The back half of the episode deals with a Drake London injury update, and his status against the Arizona Cardinals week 16.

My only fear is bringing in a different defensive scheme and it not working for jpj and Walker like this one does. Example Kaden Ellis And Zack Baum at the AINTS. WE NEED TO KEEP JEFF NO MATTER WHAT
Nash was a good basketball man. He can’t do worse than stills.
Y
Yes start Nash
I really hope they give Ulbrich a shot at HC.
Totally disagree, the coaching staff is not the problem, the injuries have shown that we need depth because the game itself, says that you are lucky to have no injuries within a season.
Yes!!!!
Happy or mad, Moose only speaks the truth
No one cares. It’s another losing season. Why does a stat of a record matter when it resulted in a mess of a season?
At this point, we just have to experiment and try new players, new formations(hopefully new coaching besides Jeff). Because though the first round would e been nice. JPJ is proving to be a quality player
Yesss

Guys want stats and numbers for their career . He wants to break Julio records and other great receiving records. Why would he sit out. Its not like we have a team to go and win a bunch of games next year . Why would we sit him. Just to play him next year on the same bad team
Falcons need to pick up Cam Newton
Whatever we do we need to keep ulbrich unless we bringing in someone like Flores or Saleh…only complaint with ulbrich is his rushing schemes leave us susceptible to getting ate up by the opponents run game
