Houston Astros Trading For Freddy Peralta??
Yo, what's going on guys? This is Houston Sports Talk back in the video today. And today we're going to be talking about the Houston Astros potentially trading for Freddy Peralta, starting pitcher from the Milwaukee Brewers. There's been a lot of trade talks about Freddy Peralta potentially getting traded. Peralta was really good for the for the Milwaukee Brewers last year and I think it'd be an interesting trade for the Houston Astros. I think at some point this offseason I I think we're going to see a Peralta trade. Maybe maybe that doesn't happen. I don't know. I just get the feeling that Freddy Peralta is getting traded now. I doubt it. H I I doubt the Houston Astros make a move. I I think the Astros want to trade for a starting pitcher. I don't know if they want to make this big of a of a you know of a trade because this would be a huge trade for the Astros. But Peraltto would be a great addition and he'd be I think one of the best replacements for Valdez you could find out there. 17-6 record, 2.70 RA, 33 starts, 177 innings with 204 strikeouts last year, three straight seasons with 200 or more strikeouts. So, he's been great the last three years. And I I think he'd be a great addition for the Astros. Just when it comes to price, what would that be? I think you're looking at giving up number two prospect Jacob Melton. number five, Miguel Ula. And alongside those two guys, Zach Denzo. So, I think you're looking at two top fives in those two guys. And then, you know, Zack Denzo, who is a major league player who can go into Milwaukee and and help right away. I just I look at it and I think about like what you're giving up. Like, I love Zack Denzo. I think he's a great player, but how much does is Denzo going to really play? Cuz you kind of look at it as like, you know, Denzo didn't get enough playing time last year when, you know, before his injury, then the Astros add in Carlos Kareah. Um, so, you know, and he he is a great player, but you know, he's I you know, he's a guy that you want at third base, I guess. you know, he can play right field and left field for you. Um, but they add in Jesus Jesus Sanchez last year. Um, so I just I'm I'm not sure how to feel about, you know, how much playing time will Zach Denzo actually get next year with the Astros because you you know like Zack Cole's in right field, Cam Smith's in right field. So, um, and then in left you've got Sanchez, Altuve, and, uh, Sanchez, Altuve, and, um, S, sorry, you've got Judu Sanchez, Altuve, and Yordon, and left. And then at third, you've got Koreah. So, I guess Denzo could get some time. There are there are definitely ways Denzo could get playing time, but I I think he's a good player who could have some value and might as well get some value for him if you can if you can put him a part of a Freddy Peralta deal. And then Melton I'm not very high on but he's a top two prospect. I think he definitely has some some value and you know looking at it um in the outfield and what the Astros got in the future. I I know there's a lot of trade talks about Jake Myers. I'd like to see the Astros keep him after the season he had last year before his injury. Zack Cole is is amazing. Cam Smith is is a part of the big future for the Astros. And so, you know, I just I don't see much of a future for Jacob Melton with the Astros as of right now. Maybe that changes down the road if the Astros keep him. I'm not sure. Miguel Ula is definitely a really good pitcher. Um, but I think Freddy Peralta helps this team win now. And I don't think Dream Crane wants to go into rebuild mode. I think this team wants this team wants to win. They want to I think they they realized, you know, what it's like to be out and, you know, be not in the playoffs. And I think Jim Kraton wants to be back into the playoffs. So, you got to be aggressive. And Miguel Ula could be a pitcher who could be really good down the road. Maybe Astros should actually keep him and not and not trade him. I'm not I don't know. But uh Freddy Peralta trading for him, a guy that had 2.70 RA last year would be a a big move for this Astros team. But you guys give me your thoughts on the potential trade for the Stros in the comment section. And peace out. Go Astros.
What do you think about the potential trade??
