Yeah, I love Mike, always did. I was calling him out for the past 2-3 years for shittty clock management and all those pussy 4th and 1.
But man that was refreshing that gutsy call to go for it yesterday, even Troy was not buying it and said they should go for it. I was proud when we stay on the field. Even if we had missed it, that was perfect!

And with 10 players on offense!
If he didn’t get it you’d be calling for him to be fired
Amazing what having a franchise QB will do for a team. The defense isn’t always on the field and it’s fun to watch them when they have a big lead.
I’m praying they draft the next Big Ben in 2026.
NO MORE LIVING IN OUR FEARS BB
Freezing cold night, in low scoring game (at that point) I wouldnt have been mad at a punt.
It’s funny characterizing it as ballsy when every time the analytics supported going for it.
People forget that back when we had a good offense, Tomlin was one of the more aggressive coaches in the league. When the new extra point rules came around, we were going for 2 a lot and weren’t scared of 4th down situations. We’ve had such a dog shit offense for so long that he’s been more confident in our defense and I can’t blame him. But it’s time to trust Arod and the boys a little more and catch up with the rest of the league again
That game was amazing as far as changing from the more extra conservative calls to aggressive. It also seemed like it was more aggressive throughout the whole offence. If that can carry forward it would be a huge step.
lol this reminds me of my daughters “no no, yes yes” book.
Passing in the middle of the field, tosses that aren’t blown up in the backfield, consecutive TD drives, no field goals the entire game.
Decidedly un-Steeler like.
This was refreshing to see…and did give Tomlin a notch up in my eyes. He’s always been EXTREMELY conservative, but seeing him go for it numerous times was awesome.
Contrary to the rest of the folks here, it had nothing to do with “an awesome offense”. We lined up with Heyward for pete-sake. It had everything to do with analytics and probability, so nice seeing Mike embrace that.
Now just stay fluid regarding OC and DC performance (forcing them to do their jobs and making changes when needed), and I might be back on the Tomlin train.
Mediocre Mike throws caution to the wind when NHALS is in jeopardy. Throw MOF, aggressive on 4th down etc etc
Now when NHALS is secured, he will transform to who he REALLY is. Super conservative, Turtle Ball at its finest.
If he pulls a Cowher when the PO’s start and truly doesn’t live in his fears, our beloved Steelers have a very good fighting chance.
