Why Detroit Pistons Are MASSIVELY Underrated in National Media

1. Because the NBA wants to push Wemby as the next superstar and as usual the Pistons are standing in the way, First with Jordan in the 80's, and then LeBron in the 2000, and today will Wemby, which means the Pistons will win One or two before Wemby is ready to ascend to the face of the league.

2. I don't understand what people mean when they say some teams have easy schedule. Do you play less games than other teams? Pistons is fighting and playing very good basketball since i started watching them again during play offs against knicks. And we could have won. We lost because of the refs. Those reporters, commenters whatever they are they making those comments because they are not watching the pistons games. They just comment bullshit. Their comments are flexible, because they don't have any idea. They just see some highlights maybe. There is a youtube channel about nba here in Turkey, they just talked about pistons after the 13 wins and it was just for 2 min at most. Because they didn't have the "knowledge". But no worries they will be talking about pistons all the time for the next 5 years.

   We're 7th in adjusted net rating at +3.6 next to the Spurs and below Orlando and Boston. The teams people consider contenders (OKC, Denver, Houston, New York) are all over +6.5

   OKC has had an easy schedule — mainly because they don't play themselves — but they are beating the breaks off teams. That's WAY different than winning a bunch of games in the last 5 minutes.

   And I think there's an element of seeing Cade do it in the playoffs because the fact he's still below league average TS and he was 51% TS vs NY — at the end of the day if we're going to be a contender he needs to be able to score at the same rate as Shai, Jokic, Durant & Brunson in isolation and he hasn't actually shown he can do that. He hasn't shown he can do that at the same rate as Jaylen Brown.

   We're like Memphis in 2022. Houston in 2025. OKC in 2024. Utah in 2021.

   Great regular season team because they defend and play hard and are really good at beating bad teams, but to be a championship level team you need to beat good teams and score in the half court. And there's no just no actual evidence we can do that.

   Combine that with a fairly pedestrian net rating given the schedule — I don't get why this is hard to understand.

It goes back to 2004 when David Stern was mad as hell when the pistons beat and upset the Lakers from that point on Stern made it clear he vowed to go against Detroit 2005 he proved his point he died so Adam Silver took the rains and Detroit got a break with the Cade pick but then look at what happened 2 straight years they get the 5th pick and last year was amazing but Detroit was in my opinion cheated with the josh heart hit when Beasley went for the 3 in the corner but as the other comments made the Commissioner and the media will continue the crusade against the D llam 53 and seeming it all happen and a 40 year fan from Philly love my piston till the day l die

17. Small market. NFL consciously officiates against them. Modern sports are as corrupt as our politicians. Then add in multi billion gambling industry. All is suspect.

18. Very fitting using windhorst in the thumbnail. Hoops collective has had the worst coverage of us going back to last yr. They don't watch games, and when they win it's always "well they haven't played anyone", when that means they are taking care of business. We're gonna finish top 3 in the east, and still won't get the respect we deserve for 2 yrs
