what a sicko and people wanted to trade this kid. 20 years old and doing things like that
I am always surprised how few set plays there are in hockey. Then this happens.
Nobody move, he might be the real deal
The kids are alright!!
Kids fuckin legit man let’s go
Funny what happens when you roof the puck. It looked like NYI didn’t believe ASP was going to shoot.
He’s really starting to turn it on as he settles in. Looking confident out there
Quinn Hughes? We got our own
ASP is already a monster, and he’s only going to get better.
That was a forward’s goal.
Quinn hughes is brilliant. But I like this. https://youtu.be/k0f3A8whsxM?si=Sk5YuGKZJsBazR39
I know guesses are the nucks wanted Simon but I dont believe it. I think they knew there was no chance for Simon and wanted asp in a package and that is what Steve said no to and I dont blame him. I absolutely love asp hes going to be deadly for us. Just keeps getting better and better.
4 defenders picked ahead of him in the nhl draft
I don’t think any of them have even played an nhl game
Edit : it was actually 3 defenders picked ahead of him.
A 20 year old defenseman with 7 points in 7 games and continuing to gain confidence. I know it’s been a long road but we need to be patient. These kids are going to continue to improve.
The Sandy Pelican
Bob Lee Swagger! #LGRW 🐙
He is very driven as well, I really hope they will be working on his skating with him this summer, he can dangle and control the puck, but if he adds more strength to his body and also works on improving his power skating and edge work he can really jump up the charts. Not that his current trajectory isn’t impressive in its own right.
Edit:
My comment is about improving, not saying that his current level is bad, but if you look at the top top elite D-men today, skating is what sets most of them apart, e.g Hughes / Makar, there is improvement to be had and that will enable even more of these sick plays that he just pulled off.
That kid is special
Yeah, Yzerman not wanting to trade him for Hughes makes sense.
Is ASP our next undersized offensive D-man like Rafalski?
