Miami Heat Injury News On Tyler Herro & Nikola Jovic + Heat Lose AGAIN! Time To Push Panic Button?

Lot of Miami Heat news to discuss today. Hero did not play in yesterday's game despite being initially listed in the starting lineup. We'll have to talk about that. Nicole Yovic suffered a nasty arm injury in the first half against the Raptors. We'll talk about his status. Plus, Miami did lose to Toronto. That is five straight losses. Is it time to press the panic button on this Miami Heat team? Well, let's start with Tyler Hero because the Heat, as they always do, 30 minutes before our schedule tip off, tweet out the starting lineup graphic and Tyler Hero was in the lineup alongside DaVon Mitchell, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, and Bam at a bio. The photo in the tweet is still there, but there is a tweet four minutes after update late scratch. hero is now inactive and ruled out of this game with a toe injury. And I just don't know how this happens. Like, sure, you can suffer a setback or not feel good if you were questionable going into the game with warm-ups, but you had five days off. Tyler Herro played in the Heat's last game on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. In matter of the fact, he actually played 34 minutes. Yeah, we knew he was dealing with a toe injury in the past, but I don't understand how you go from being on the floor last Tuesday playing 34 minutes to now missing this game on Monday after not really hearing about the injury worsening at all. So, did he suffer a new injury? Did he re-agravate the same injury? I just don't get it. It It doesn't make any sense to me. But it unfortunately what Tyler Herro has done in Miami over his career doesn't make a lot of sense either because he's never on the floor. If you want the losing streak to end, we got to get the vibes flowing better. And I'm not doing a good job myself, but hit that thumbs up button. Let's get the like number going up on today's show to hopefully end the fivegame losing streak. I mean, it's frustrating. It It really is. And I'm trying not to get worked up, but I'm not doing a good job at it here. He is like the most polarizing player on this Heat roster. I mean, half the fan base think he stinks. Half the fan base thinks he's the next Michael Jordan. And there's no in between, it feels like. But the truth is, one thing that I think we can all come together and agree upon, no matter if you think Hero is good or bad, he can't stay healthy. I mean, you look at him over the last five years, he's had one season where he has stayed healthy. It was last year, played 77 games, was an all-star, was awesome last year for Miami. But this season, if he were to play in every game for the Heat the rest of the season, which we know is not going to happen, he would only play 62. So, he wouldn't even qualify as an allNBA player. And the fact is he didn't qualify for it in 23 24. He barely would have qualified for it in 21 and 2022. Like this is just who he is. The anomaly is his season last year where he stayed healthy for 77 games, averaged 25 a night. Like that is something we will not see again with Tyler Herro. In all likelihood, if you just play the odds and percentages, probably not going to happen again. So for the Heat, you look at this and you have to look yourself in the mirror and say, "Yeah, we drafted Tyler. We like Hero, but he has shown us who he is. He is not going to be on the floor consistently playing 70 plus games a season." And then there's also questions on the floor about his real value to winning because of how bad he is defensively. I just think you look at the situation right now, I don't think you could extend him whatsoever unless it's for like $30 million per season. I ain't extended him anything close to 40 mil per year at this point. All right, let's move over from one injury to another. Nicole Yoic, you see the picture on screen. He left the game in an aircast splint. I don't know what you want to call it, but he checked in and in the first minute of being in the game, he gets out in transition, goes up for a dunk in transition and then gets hit to the floor, lands horribly bad on that right elbow, down for a long time. I thought the stretcher came out first, but ultimately he got up under his own power. They put that splint/cast, whatever you want to call it, on his right arm. He walked out in like a T formation. I mean, that arm was sticking straight out. Like, it's just brutal. And I feel so bad for Nicole Yoic. Listen, he's been bad this year. There's no doubt about that. It's been an ugly season from start to finish for Nico, but it feels like he hasn't caught a break his entire career. Like his second season, he has up and down playing time. Third year, expects to get a lot more PT. Jimmy Boler gets traded. More of an opportunity for Nico. Suffers a freak wrist injury. out for the rest of the year essentially. Comes back in the playoffs, but it really doesn't mean much. Battles injuries early this year, struggles, has an opportunity to get back in the rotation with Hero and Larson out with injury, suffers that nasty arm injury. It's just unfortunate that he's been unable to stay on the floor. And same thing with Tyler Herro. Like this just might be who he is. They've been freak injuries, but it can't be a coincidence every single year. Right now, there is a positive on Yich. It was tweeted out um late on uh Monday night that Yovic's X-rays were negative. So, guess there isn't a break or a fracture, which I don't really understand how that's possible. How do you get put into a split or air cast and not have a break or fracture? There will be an MRI at some point today. Uh we'll share the information on that. So, make sure you are subscribed to the channel. But it just is an odd situation overall for it to look that serious. But the X-rays be negative. And Eric Spolster after the game spoke on the injury said he's crazy. Couldn't believe he was smiling and laughing when we all went up to him. I think that was his way of lightening the moment. He probably saw the look on all of our faces. It was a hard fall. I mean, the X-rays were negative, so I assume that he'll be able to return this season, unless it's something crazy. Uh, I hope to see him again this season, man, because Nico obviously signed that extension this off season uh kicks in next year and if Miami wants to get any return on investment with that contract extension, they're going to need to see a couple steps forward for Nico before the end of the season. So hopefully we see it hopefully we see him again this year. Today's show is brought to you by Price Pix. It's the holiday season. What gifts do you want to buy? What do you want to eat? It's good to be right. Is it time for Heat fans and everybody alike to press the panic button on the Miami Heat? Things have not been going swimmingly for Miami over the last couple of weeks. They have lost their last five straight games or lost their last five games. Don't have to say straight there. Either way, they haven't been pretty. Two losses to the Magic, a loss to the Mavericks, who have not been good this season. The Kings have been horrible, and you lost to them in blowout fashion at home. And then you lost another home game to the Toronto Raptors last night. A team that was also riding a four-game losing streak coming into the game in Miami. You had 19 points in that fourth quarter against the Toronto Raptors last night. Unacceptable. The offense just has been falling and falling and falling and falling and people are trying to figure out what's the issue. A lot of people wanted to blame Tyler Herro's return as a reason why the offense wasn't as free flowing and efficient. I don't think it has anything to do with that because if that was the case, Miami would have had a lot more success in the games that Tyler missed on Friday against Orlando, Saturday against the Kings, and then last night against the Raptors. You know what the issue is? We can't shoot from beyond the ark anymore. I mean, is there a player that is being missed right now than Duncan Robinson? And a lot of us said, "Oh, maybe the Heat didn't need Duncan because of the way Simone Fonteio was playing early on in the year." Yeah, Simone was playing so well, it made us realize we didn't need Duncan. If you had someone that can consistently shoot at that high enough level, but the truth is that hasn't been the case. I mean, look at this difference right now between Miami in the first three weeks of the year, October 22nd to November 12th, in comparison to the last month, November 13th to December 16th, aka Tuesday, the day we're filming this. Points per game has dropped down by seven points, gone from first in the NBA to 14th. Field goal percentage has gone down by three percentage points going from seventh to 22nd. And then your three-point shooting percentage has gone from 37.8, 37.9, excuse me, eighth in the NBA to 35.5, which is 19th in the NBA. That's the issue right there. I mean, you're not able to hit your shots. And sure, a lot of it can be because the Heat in terms of scoring overall have been playing at a little bit of a slower pace because opposing teams are playing slower against Miami, not allowing the Heat to get out in transition and get a lot of looks early in the shot clock, but everything is derived from the three-point shooting. When the Heat shoot well from three, they defend better. When they can't shoot three, they don't defend as well. So, it's like it all starts with the three-point shooting in my opinion. And that's a bad way to look at it. But you also look at this Heat roster and with Tyler Hero out of the lineup so consistently, the only real threats for volume three-point shooters are Norman Powell and Simone Fonteo. But Fonteo has been absolutely horrible over the last month. And that is why the Heats three-point shooting has fallen off of a cliff. you let me know what is the biggest problem for the Miami Heat right now and it's the reason why they're losing five games in a row. Get down in the comment section and let me know. I mean, I do think it's the three-point percentage dip overall. I mean, look at the numbers for these five specific players. Bam somehow is just dead rock solid a 34% three-point shooter. I actually thought I got bad numbers when I filtered between the two time frames. What are the chances he shoots exactly 34.0% in both of those time frames? But Da'Von Mitchell has been the only one to stay consistent or at least improve. I mean, Norman Pal is still shooting 40% from three. That's good. Don't get it twisted. But he is down 6% from the first three weeks of the year, but this is the biggest change. Simone Fonteio, his three-point percentage has gone down by 24%. It has been essentially cut in half. That's the difference. Like it's it's crazy to say this, but Simone Fonteio might be one of the most important players on this Heat team. When he shoots well from three, the Heat offense clicks. When he struggles, the Heat struggle. It's as simple as that. And it makes sense because with Duncan Robinson gone coming off of the bench, Vonteo is that three-point shooter that they try to get looks for. I mean, Fonteo in this stretch where he's shooting 26% from three. He's averaging 6.1 attempts a night. He's shooting he's averaging I think 1.8 makes. It's 1.8 to 6.1 attempts. It's just abysmal. I don't want to blame it all on Simone Fonteio because that's not fair to him. But when he doesn't shoot well from beyond the arc, the Heats offense struggles and then in turns their defense struggles. It's an everending cycle. 1. Figured it out. Bam is such a non-factor to get this team a win which is why Herro is ALWAYS THE TALKING POINT. Because he is a bigger factor than Bam.

Doesn’t matter what Bam does, he can’t get his team a win

  2. Dumba$$ Heat fans complained about Duncan’s defense the same way they do about Tyler’s. AND THEY WERE WRONG! Good thing Piston’s aren’t dumb. They got Duncs starting EVERY night for them & he’s always their highest +/- player & the #1 seed. Even winning when Cade & Duren have been out

  3. Biggest problem is we overpay people that noone else would, we should just trade every contract over 15mil/yr to get our pics back and hard reset and hope Spoelstra doesn’t retire

  4. You're crying about the wrong things. If he's hurt he's hurt. You don't have to understand it.
The real question and reason to be frustrated is why isn't Ware playing more including finishing games!!???

  5. Bro, if we press the panic button now we will probably break our finger with our luck. They’ll bring out the stretcher and the arm cast like they did for Jovic

  6. Look, we got creative and tried to make something of a very flawed roster, but it didn’t work.

There is no problem. We are just this bad, and the only problem going forward would be to not believe it.

It’s time to be sellers. We can sell high on Powell and Davion. Wiggins still has suitors. Bam will be in demand and I’m sure Tyler will be too.

Get back as much young talent and picks as you can for a rebuild, and for God’s sake get a high lottery pick. There’s multiple guys in this next draft that are worthy of rebuilding around.

  7. You have no say in what Herro gets paid. Who are you, the new GM? Giannis has missed 20% of Milwaukee's games since the 2021-2022 season. I'm done listening to you!

  8. I don’t even wanna see them try to fix this. I wanna see them figure out how to put Ware in positions to improve and thrive, and I want to see what Jakucionis can do.

How many teams are we actually better than that aren’t tanking??

  9. I think Tyler just sealed his fate on a contract extension. We might've screwed up by giving one to Jovic, but definitely the right move not to give it to Tyler.
