Nobody throws like this any more. The release point is so low that it will mess with batters trying to track the pitch out of his hand.
Also, it looks really cool – which is more important than anything else.
Hey Billy, this is Tyler Rogers. He’s a relief pitcher, his only defect is that he throws funny.
I learned to throw submarine from Mark Eichhorn. Imagine that number of young Blue Jay fans who will throw abnormally slow with a ball that tails way in or way outside. Dozens of them will I tells ya!
It’s gonna break opposing lineups brains if they put Rogers in after 7 strong from Yesavage.
why did Mets let him go? they have money. he wasn’t too expensive.
Trey Yesavage and Tyler Rogers will not be available on the Traject machine for other teams due to their exaggerated release points . That’s a shame !
for the lols is a good enough reason
because of his stats probably
career era: 2.76 career whip: 1.099 career era+: 148
Because going from Trey to Tyler will bring Jays fans much joy
Honestly, I think that the Jays just want to go from one of the highest release points in the game to one of the lowest back to back in the same game. Just trying to fuck with batters.
It’s a good bet by the Blue Jays, who have the fielding corps necessary to assist a pitch-to-contact, homer-preventing, strikeout-deficient pitcher like this.
It’s a great fit, only issue is that it’s a lot of money and term for a mid-30s reliever. Submariners still find a way though, especially one who doesn’t have the typical severe batter splits a submariner typically has.
The Blue Jays pitching corps the past two years has suffered from the long ball and Rogers will be a much-needed infusion if things go right. We have the fielders necessary to help pitch-to-contact pitchers, we just need those pitchers to not give up homers. Such a combo is tough to find though.

He good throw weird?
He was a member of a naval submarine crew? Wild.
The first underwater drone killed a Russian submarine this past week, this is good news
