I’m assuming the NHL looked at the game in the preseason and decided they would get a lot of valuable attention if it happens again in the regular season. They’re actively encouraging a game full of goonery at this point. Gary probably saw how much attention the Four Nations game got with fights all over the ice and said “more of that, please.”

We should all just forfeit any games against this disgusting dirtbag ass team. This is way beyond “rivalry” at this point, this is literally just dirty, violent tactics disguised as hockey. The league is complicit. Someone is going to literally lose their life or get handicapped, and all because what, the NHL wants high ratings so the Floridian inbred masses can say “MUH VIOLENCE!!!” while watching a game they didn’t care about 2 years ago? Fucking bullshit man, I’m so pissed at this. I love the sport and I love the bolts so much but what’s the point of watching if we’re just gonna have our seasons derailed by being forced to play in this fucking joke of a league?

Bettman doesn’t want us to win anymore. It’s that simple. NHL needs to clean house and bring in unbiased not sports betting people.
With the injuries we already have the the leagues clear negligence at addressing the headhunting issues I would just forfeit the rest of the games against the Panthers at this point. I do not think the risk of playing that team is worth it right now knowing the league will do anything and everything to look away from these dirty hits.

When the Panthers Assistant GM Gregory Campbell is the son of NHL Executive VP Colin Campbell, what do you expect to happen? The only way the FP’s win is by targeting and taking out the other team’s top talent.

Sucks, but everyone knows this is about Campbell protecting the team his son works for. Can’t get hockey fans across the NHL to agree on much, but seeing the bias to the Panthers is universal
But unlike many here – I do hold JBB accountable for his decision in 2023-2025 to pussify this team. Chose “alleged” skill over grit. It’s coming back now, but 3 years of throwing away the identity that got the team to 3 Finals, and 2 Cup wins doesn’t get talked about enough.

Guess they’re going to argue the whole “intent” thing, huh? He didn’t “intend” to hit him with an elbow (same with Guentzel’s hit)…. but somehow, protecting your face from a puck & having it go off your glove to a teammate is intending a hand pass, unlike when FLA caught the puck & put it on the ice & a teammate played it next bc there was no “intent” to pass it, right?
At what point is Paul Maurice going to be held accountable for coaching his players to be this way?
