It is so fun to see the team start clicking. We are currently just short of a 100 pt pace on the season. That mark traditionally clears the playoff line, and would equal the following in the past three seasons:
– 24-25: 3rd Div Seed
– 23-24: WC1 Seed
– 22-23: 3rd Div Seed
Good stuff – on to tonight’s game!
Basketball is so boring they need to hand out a baby championship mid way through the season to keep it interesting
Only Atalntic team playing tonight. Both Detroit and Utah are on the 2nd of a back to back, Utah is with travel.
Seider, Ed, Ray have all taken steps this year, Finnie, Danielson, and ASP have come in and been effective as rookies. Its really nice to see the youth be as good as they have. Its kind of crazy how good we’ve done with kasper, our presumptive 2c, having a really rough year statistically.
And we still have a top prospect pool, which seems to get deeper every year. Imagine this team if Anton Johansson, bear, and genborg hit? The size on the back end and the sandpaper of this team will be fun to watch.
Today is a b2b but thankfully Utah is also on a b2b with travel so we have a slight advantage.

This holiday season, gift that special Red Wings fan in your life something that they never knew they wanted:
The officially licensed Al the Octopus Bobble-Dildo!
I do really like the Danielson Kasper Soder line. Finnie had a great game yesterday. Caused a lot of turnovers and was grinding all game.
Mo, Ed and ASP is shaping up to be quite a d-core.
6 straight wins for Gibson is what you love to see
ER update from last night’s game-day thread: no blood clot!! 🎉🎉🎉 Just a very long and expensive trip to be sure. 🫠 Hoping for a mulligan to be able to fall asleep to the game tonight with no medical stress; please pray.
The Islanders have an entire team of punchable faces. Had to be said.
The worst team in the Eastern conference has 14 wins and 14 regulation losses. Thats wild.
I can’t believe they have 2 more back to backs. Very strange schedule. Two with Capitals and then after Xmas Carolina and Toronto.
Nathan MacKinnon, Macklin Celebrini… blah blah. We have a Cat. Extend the man now
Does anyone have the screencap of the Tiger Ladies dressed as Mickey? That shit had me rolling every time they were on screen.
Anyone know if the game is blacked out tonight on national tv?
God, four straight national broadcasts. This is insane.
Glad Gibson didn’t break after letting in that 1st goal. Was scared the gates might open like in previous months.
Why isn’t the replay on the FanDuel app yet?
Larkin with no point but man that line was on fire last night. Almost everyone had crazy chances and Sorokin just gonna Sorokin I guess.
Every game tells you something a little different and that one showed they’re getting stronger mentally.
Todd mentioned it in the post game presser. Would’ve been easy to start chasing the game and taking risks and in the past they did that.
But not last night. Stayed within themselves, kept playing good hockey and things worked out well for them

What if we traded for Zeeb Buium? Canucks are out of it this year, we are in it this year. Toss them two seconds & 5th or something, theyre playing for a burnout it down season this year and next, low odds they resign Zeeb. Then we get our own brother pair, discount Hughes.
The Kasper danielson soderblom line has been really noticeable lately. Maybe not showing up on the score board, but they’re getting a lot of offensive zone time.
After this little heater they’ve been on, the Wings control their destiny again. Most of the division has a game in hand on the Wings, but they’ve managed a little bit of separation from the pack, so most of those teams can win that game and they won’t surpass or even tie the Wings.
The only team who can pass the Wings by winning their game in hand is Tampa, who would currently tie the Wings in points and has the second tiebreaker because they have one more ROW.
Speaking of regulation wins, the Wings are at the top of the division with some elite company: Tampa, Florida, and Detroit each have 15 regulation wins, Boston has 14, and then it drops off hard, as Toronto is next in line with 11, followed by Montreal with 10. The Wings even have more regulation wins than everyone in the Metro except for Washington.
Team feels different this year, dudes.
Mantha is playing well in Pittsburgh. Hope he can stay healthy and keep it up, it’s kinda crazy he’s never cracked 50 points with his level of skill (although that is partly due to injuries).
I love me some wings 2023 draft holy
Bro how have the penguins and kings both lost 9 games in overtime already like 30 games into the season
Morning thoughts on why the Yzerplan will work.
So I set up my 3yo to watch Awood’s highlights for last night while I made her lunch and made sure the 9yo was on task.
The follow up on auto-play was a 2002 finals highlights, 1h 13m long, left it playing in background, albeit unintentionally.
Finished 40m round trip, back home and the TV is still on, crowd noise going nuts, they’d won and the Cup presentation was about to start.
Nick was presented with the Smythe and commentary was “Yzerman is just as happy as if he’d won it himself” and you could see it. Then he had the leadership and presence of mind to pass off the cup to Scotty first and a flood of nostalgia hit having grown up watching the dynasty run.
Yzerman doesn’t quit or fail. Dude played without functioning knees to win a Cup. He didn’t directly win Cups as the GM in Tampa but he might as well had honorable mention stamping for the ’20 and ’21 for building the foundation.
Obviously the players have the most to do with bringing Stanley back to Detroit. Last year’s Toddfather induced upward swing and this year’s play have me feeling a bit of recharge to the “Don’t Stop Believing-O-Meter” and faith that Stevie will see this through to fruition.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
Tl;Dr: Keep calm, carry on trust the Yzerplan and LGRW.
Considering how bad Detroit sports were a few years back it’s pretty dope that the lions, pistons, wings and tigers were all in 1st place in their divisions at some point this calendar year.
Plus MSU/Michigan hockey and basketball teams are both top 10 (we don’t talk about college football)
Cat is only 27? Maybe my brain is just stupid but I thought he was mid 30’s for some reason
Either way back up the truck
I didn’t get to watch last night; did Leonard make an impact?
