JUICY NBA Trade Rumors On Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis & Domantas Sabonis

[music] What’s up NBA fans? We got some trade rumors to discuss on Giannis Anthony Koopmpo, Anthony Davis, and Damont Sabonis. In today’s episode, I am Nick Rolloff. We are going to start with the biggest name and the one that most people care about the most, which is Giannis Antakmpo because it sounds like the Milwaukee Bucks are not caving. Even though Giannis applied a little bit of pressure through the media by saying him and his agent are now discussing futures, whether it’s with the Bucks or with a different organization. It sounds like Milwaukee isn’t going to trade Giannis just because it seems like he’s unhappy and they actually might try to convince him to stay by trading for someone. The athletics reporter covering the Bucks, Eric Nem, hope I said that right, reported that five months after the Bucks stunned decision to wave Dame Lord in route to adding Miles Turner. The white flag has not been waved in terms of trying to make Giannis happy. Instead, league sources say they’re considering making yet another significant addition that might aid their chances of convincing Giannis to stay. And I’m reading this report and Jake Fischer reported something very similar as well to where he thinks they’re actually going to try to go trade for somebody until Giannis tells them I’m requesting a trade. Now the question is who are they going to go trade for? Like I just don’t think there’s that many good options available for the Milwaukee Bucks to go out and get, especially considering Milwaukee doesn’t have a lot of trade assets to send out. They don’t have control of their own first round picks. They don’t have any good young players. How are the Bucks going to acquire a good enough player to pair with Giannis and Miles Turner to make that a competitive team, make Giannis happy? I just don’t think that’s going to happen. So, to me, this feels like we’re in like a stalemate to where the Bucks are going to try to make Giannis happy even though they don’t really have any options on the table and Anthony Koopo is gonna be unhappy. I can’t believe I’m saying this. He’s just got to go the route of James Harden and Jimmy Butler and just say, “I’m out, man. Just trade me.” Like, here’s a report from Jake Fischer saying it’s a staring contest right now and there isn’t going to be any trade talks between Milwaukee and a different team until Giannis officially demands out. And then it’s all about where does Giannis want to go play? Will the Bucks ultimately listen? Will they go out and fetch the best package? Like, who knows? The Bucks are horrible. They have no chance of making the playoffs this year. Maybe they end up being a play-in team, but look at the difference. One through nine in the East. Let’s rephrase that. Three through nine in the East are all separated by a game and a half right now. But then you’ve got the Bucks there as the 10th seed, two and a half games behind Miami as of filming this on Wednesday, December 17th. like where is the pathway for this Bucks team to rise to the occasion and actually make a little bit of a push here? I don’t know. And if you are asking at home, well, you said that there’s a chance they go out and try to trade for someone, who would it be? There was a buzz about Andrew Wiggins, but like what is that going to do? And there was a little bit of murmurss out there that maybe a target for the Milwaukee Bucks would be Michael Porter Jr. with the Brooklyn Nets. Then I’ll ask the question again. Who are the Nets and who are the Heat potentially going to want in return from Milwaukee Bucks? They got nothing to trade. It’s a weird situation in Milwaukee. So, predict it for me. Will Giannis ask out of Milwaukee before the trade deadline? Will he sack up and make the decision why for yes or N for no? I’ll also add this folks. If Giannis even asks out, there might not be as wide of a market as we originally thought in potentially acquiring or teams targeting Giannis Antinoupo. It is very strange to say this out loud, but it’s the God’s honest truth. Like, you think about what Giannis would want. He’d want to go to a team that he likes, whether it’s Miami or New York. And the Knicks just won the NBA Cup. So, it’s like, are they going to disband their team and go trade for Giannis? And even if they want to, the Knicks package for Giannis is not very good. They have to trade only one first round pick and then two of Bridges, Cat, Ojan, and Obi. But like I said, Giannis has a lot of power in terms of directing where he wants to go in a potential trade. He has an opt out in the summer of 2027. So, if he gets traded to a team he doesn’t want to be, then he just can opt out and enter free agency. So, he can choose a short list of teams. But the second reason why there might not be that large of a market is that there are reports out there that teams don’t want to blow up the entire roster to go get Giannis, the teams I’m referring to, San Antonio Spurs and OKC Thunder, as well as the Houston Rockets. Like, apparently the Spurs wouldn’t trade Dylan Harper or Stfan Castle for Giannis. And it’s like, well, at that point, are they going to trade Vel, Kell Johnson, and Harrison Barnes to go get Giannis with a handful of picks? Unlikely. The Bucks would want to get either Harper or Castle in return. The Thunder, they’re so good. Why would they blow it up, honestly? And then the Rockets, that one’s intriguing to me. I would be curious to see what they could build in a package, including Amen Thompson, Reed Shepard, pairing Giannis with KD, Alpin Shenon would be a lot of fun. Um, if you’re keeping an eye on teams in the East or in the NBA to trade for Giannis, I think Miami and Cleveland are the options. We know Giannis and Miami have flirted for years in the past. Uh, they’re motivated to potentially get a deal done. They have an intriguing package of Hero Club Wear Hawz, two first round picks, three swaps. The Cavaliers, if they decide to go allin, they could trade Evan Mobley and Darius Garland for Giannis and just say, “Let’s pair up Donovan Mitchell and Giannis.” Jared Allen in the front court as well and let’s go to work. That’s an intriguing idea as well. Point is, there isn’t that big of a market for Anthony Kmpo that you would originally imagine with a player of his caliber potentially being on the trade market. Links in description and comments of today’s video. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Let’s segue over to the Anthony Davis and Damonta Sabonis portion of today’s show. And it all has to do with those Toronto Raptors who are 16 and 11 and right now third in the Eastern Conference standings because there’s rumors out there that they are interested in acquiring either Damont Sabonis or Anthony Davis before the February 5th trade deadline. Jake Fischer saying that Toronto is ultimately willing to conduct before the deadline is interesting to see how they finish between now and the deadline and it hopes to upgrade the front court. Sources with knowledge of the Raptors thinking they have identified them as interest in Tamont Sabonis as well is Anthony Davis and I think both players are fascinating trade targets for Toronto. I will say very quickly that I believe Anthony Davis would be the better fit for the Raptors. When you look at these two players and what they bring to the table, I think the Maverick’s big man is much more what would be needed for Toronto to potentially make them more competitive in the Eastern Conference to match up better with the New York Knicks and potentially the Detroit Pistons. Both of them have only appeared in 11 games this year. We know Anthony Davis is injuryprone. Sabonis has missed a lot of time as well. Uh, but Sabonis has had a dip in efficiency, especially shooting from beyond the arc. Used to be a 34 35% three-point shooter. Now just 20%. And he used to be a big-time playmaking big man and the hub for that Kings offense, but his role on that offense has severely declined with them having D Rozan, Russell Westbrook, and Zack Lavine. And with the Raptors big man situation featuring Yaka Potal is Sabotus honestly is it crazy to say that big of an upgrade over Yaka considering you have to pay him double the amount of money that PL is getting right now and you have to go trade for Damont Sabonis. I’m not so sure that’s the case which is why I think Anthony Davis makes more sense for Toronto if they went in for a big man. And we’ll have you covered with NBA trade rumors between now and that February 5th NBA trade deadline. So make sure you’re subscribed. Make sure you have your notifications turned on so you never miss a beat of the trade rumor mill. Like both players are solid, but they both have their drawbacks, right? Anthony Davis can never stay on the court, but when he’s on the court, he’s a guaranteed 20 and 10 and a very solid rim protector still at his old age. Sabonis doesn’t defend at all, inefficient from beyond the arc, and he’s dealt with some injuries, but has a very good solid bag in terms of inside the paint with the post work and the footwork, but also we know he can act as a playmaker. He’s done it in the past. So, if you’re asking me, if Toronto were to make a legit upgrade, I think Anthony Davis is the better target because he would help them in their front court defensively and they would be able to have a very versatile front court with Brandon Ingram, Scotty Barnes, and Anthony Davis. Now, if you’re asking what a trade would look like, I think this would likely be the best trade option for Toronto. Obviously, Yakapoto and his $20 million salary would be on the move to Dallas. It would be the Maverick’s backup big man, the Daniel Gaffford at this point since they’d lose Anthony Davis with Derek Lively out for the year. But would Dallas want to take in that contract? He just got paid a multi-year extension. I don’t know. Emanuel Quickley, an interesting guard, but I think he’s overpaid at 30 plus million dollars a year. Plus, the Mavericks really like Ryan Nemhart. Are they going to start Quickly over him? I don’t think they would. I think they would make quickly their sixth man. And are you paying a sixman $30 million? I don’t know. Now, the prize return would be the first round pick, but I just don’t think the Mavericks would really be that inclined to take this package. And if we’re gonna be honest, the Mavs hold a lot of cards between now and the trade deadline. They’ve struggled a little bit, but they’re playing much better basketball as of late. There’s a report out there that they actually want to remain competitive this season and see if they can sneak into the Western Conference playin or maybe the playoffs. But Anthony Davis is a trade candidate. PJ Washington trade candidate. Gafford is a trade candidate. Klay Thompson’s a trade candidate. Which of those veterans stay? Which one of them go? It feels like Anthony Davis is more likely to be traded than any of the guys that we just mentioned. But who is going to trade for Davis at that price point in that injury history? And are the Mavericks going to get a package they’d be willing to receive to ship out Anthony Davis? I don’t know. But if you were the Raptors or any team, pick a player you’d want to go trade for. Would it be Anthony Davis, type AD? Would it be DS and Damont Sabonis? Let me know. That’ll do it for today’s show. Appreciate everybody for hanging out with us here.
