Mammoth vs. Red Wings | NHL Highlights | December 17, 2025

[Music] 4-1 loss in Boston last night. Underway in
Detroit as the Red Wings shoot the puck in. Logan Kohley missing his seventh consecutive game. Puck
knocked out at the line by D. Simone replacing Oolie Ma in the lineup tonight. Puck blockered
into the corner by Talbot. Andrew Cop not able to clear. Another blocker saved by Talbot. That time
on spots. Now it’s back into the red wing zone. This is the rookie boot looking for his first
National Hockey League goal. It’s gathered in by Talon. The fourth line against fourth line.
Kyler Yamamoto for Utah with O’Brien. Yamamoto flies it across for Dury. Dury sends the puck
into the crease. Knocked out of trouble by Tal. Sodloom maintains control of the puck. Here’s
Danielson for the Red Wings. Back out to the point. Sandine Pelican with a shot. Turned aside
by Vamela. That’s the first shot on goal for the Red Wings. 6 and 1/2 minutes in. Back out it comes
for Casper. Casper shoot. Stick save. Vamela. Knocked down by Schmidt. Picked by Van Ree. Soda
Bloom controls for Detroit. Tied up by Yamamoto in behind the net. Van Reignike. Stuff attempt. Then
Remnike with seven goals on the season. And now Smith plays the puck up the boards out into the
neutral zone. Yeah, good shift by the third line for Detroit. Here comes Rasmus. Knocked down by
Vela. Here comes Dury. Nine and a half remaining in the first. Dery cutting wide. Centering pass
broken up. Good stick. Edmonson walking out for Cider. Now Raymond cross ice pass broken up by
Circf. Here’s Cider with it. The brinket back out for Cider. Fires. Saved by Vamela. The power
play brought to you by Vander Pharmaceuticals. The brinket. Just over a minute remaining on the
penalty to Hatton. Shot by Cider. Turned aside by Vamela. The pain on the puck for the Mammoth. Now
Brinket battling with Pino. Puck comes to Schmidt. Couldn’t get it out. Cider holds in at the line.
Raymond behind the net and Reeves Dyke. Now Cider once again for the to break it. Save by Larkin
and the Mammoth is clear. You know, you look to those guys that have been there, done it before
to kind of settle you down when the waters get a little choppy and to have it on the back end
is huge. But Bane fanned on it off the pipe. Carone in a prime scoring area rings it off the
pipe. Smalls holds waiting for teammates across for Dery. Dury shoots. Saved by Talbet. Puck
cleared to the boards by Johansson. Picked up by Finny. Finny sends it hard around looking
for Larkin. Cut off by Schmaltz. Back into the Red Wing zone with under five to play in
period one. Out in front it comes for Keller. Stopped by Talb for the mammoth for Keller. And
Talbot able to get across and make the save. Punch skater ahead by Johansson. Here comes Finny.
cutting wide. Fine with a shot and the puck cars out of play. Red Wings have the game’s first
power play. Shots are seven apiece. Utah had the first four. Yamamoto chasing with Sandine
Pelica. Now Stenland out in front. Calvin got a stick on the O’Brien attempt. Red Wings lead
the division. Second in the East, sixth overall. It’s the latest they’ve been in first place in
the Division Blue since 2015, 10 years. Here’s Cop. Coppin with a shot just fine after Vla got
a piece of it. Cop with a really good opportunity few moments ago gets hit in stride able to get
this one through the arm of Vmela. Fortunately for Vamela he doesn’t squeeze the elbow into his
rib too too tightly because down to 20 seconds to break it over for the Red Wings. Out to the
point Sherro whips one step aside by Vamela. Second period underway. Shots in the first.
118 in favor of the Red Wings as boot sends the puck up the boards. Here’s McBain into
the Red Wings zone. Carone with a shot and that’s gloved by Talbot. Score regularly.
Nathan McKinnon leads the league 28 goals. 24 for Geeky. Capri off with the Wild is 21.
20 a piece to break it to David Robertson. Great chance there from Point Blank Range.
Jersey. Here comes the Brinket. Serge gets back and the save by Vamela. A minute and a
half in second period. Scoreless in Detroit. Evansson’s pass picked off by Keller. Here comes
Purka. Now Schmaltz. Nick Spaltz cutting wide. Shoot. Save. Rebound. Score. The Mammoth strike
first. Clayton Keller with his 11th of the season. Shots from the outside like this. If it’s on
the ice, you want to make sure you get your stick on it because then you can direct it out
of out of harm’s way. If you let it hit the pad, then it can just lay flat on the ice. We’ll see
if it Yeah, he’s got to get his stick on that puck. He lets it hits the pad now. Johansson sends
the puck around. Bernard Docker steps up. There’s Casper and that’s stopped by Vlco. It’s nice to
say the Mammoth too as opposed to hockey club. I got to say, Kenny, I don’t know what your thoughts
are on that. I don’t want to be presumptuous. Does have a ring to it. Shot by Bernard
Docker. Knocked out of the corner by Vamela. Puck comes out to the point. Edmonson for Cider.
Cider pulls the spring. Shoot. Stopped by Vamela. Great job there by Cider to drag it and get to
a a real prime area. And a good save by Vamela, but you see the skill level on Cider there. Now
Raymond cross pass and a save by Vamela. Now Keller who has the game’s only goal. Swatted away
by Larkin. Picked up by Finny. Here comes Larkin. [Applause] Now Cider with a drive. Save. And then
Larkin had it stripped by knocked down by Carone. Carone out to the point for Jersey. Saved by
Talbet. Rasperson into the puck. Tied up by Carone. Shot by Smith. Misses the net. Red Wings
were one of the teams mentioned in trade rumors surrounding Quinn Hughes, the former Norris
Trophy winner. That trade happened so fast. Save by Talbett. Off the quick centering pass
stops Yamamoto. Now de Brink back to Cider. And now Raymond Raymond for Dbrink. Stopped by Vamela.
Stopped by Vamela. Sand Pelico with it. Wrist shot deflected and a save. Cop got a piece of it by
Krauss. You don’t have an option. Just send it back to your zone. Gain possession. That’s the
end of that power play for the Red Wings. They have three shots. There’s McBain for Utah. Mavis
with a one- nothing lead. Jersey misses the net. Carone swings it out in front. McBain scores after
they kill off two Detroit power plays. Jack McBain with his fourth of the season, giving Utah a
two nothing lead. First one, they really gave him nothing. The second one more of a a team kill.
And then they get to work. The third line for the Mammoth. Simple. Get it to the point. Jersey gets
it to the net. And then Carone makes a real nifty play here as he retrieves the puck, finds McBain
on the back door, catches the Redwing defenders napping. I mean, Sherro’s there. He’s just a
little bit different this year. This year they’ve showed a lot more maturity to hang in there
and not not beat themselves. Let’s see how it plays out the rest of this game for Cody and Dery
with the assist. McBain’s fourth of the season to give the Mammoth a two nothing advantage.
Shot by D Simone. Turned aside by Talbot. Lin take it to the boards. Puck is pinned.
Krauss works it free for boot out for Dury near side. Carone. Puck comes back around
to boot. Time to get across. But watch if he if he just shoots it. But he held on to
it. He still beats Talbett. But if he just one times that puck. Now Danielson shoots
it. Ian Cole back for the manic held up by Edward Cop. Puck loose behind the Utah
net. Red Wings keep it alive. Finny scores [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
[Music] and Finny with a power play goal, eighth of the season. And it’s a great pass by
John Leonard. You mentioned him being called up, getting an opportunity on the hunt. The the wings
are cop doing some dirty work. Wonder if there was a hand pass right there as he gets it to Leonard.
You could see the mammoth defenders making mention of that. Hard to tell from that angle, but a good
pass by Leonard to Finny. Krauss moves it around behind the net. Hatton on it there. Down to 415
remaining. Centering pass broken up. Held in by Sergeev for Hatton. Oh, and it’s kept out
and then they score. It’s Gunther who gives Utah a twogoal advantage with 408 on the clock.
squeaking or dribbling towards the goal line, but as he plays it out of the crease, he puts it
right off a Talbot and that puts it right on a te for Gunther. Tough break for Cider as he’s
trying his best to get it out of harm’s way, but it’s a big one for the Mammoth after
Detroit finally got on the board on the power play. Now Keller shoots, turned
aside by Cam Talbet. Keller with it again. Out to Dury. Here is Keller. Keller
into the slot. Score. Steedling. 41 Utah. Two goals in 31 seconds. Score a goal, give
up a goal. The next shift is most important. And the Mammoth able to get back to work.
Keller pretty good patience there to hang on to it. Salt like he’s going to bring it
to the net. Freezes the Detroit defenders. And then he finds Stenland right in the slot.
And Stenland snaps it past Talbot. And that should send the fans to the parking lot.
Carone with the puck and that will do it on the road. The Utah Mammoth behind 28 stops by
Vamela. in for the third time in the last four

  1. Utah Mammoth seems to be the EXCITING Team this year since they are formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes (2023) and Utah Hockey Team (2024).

  2. If you’re going to POKE check all game your going to get walked around! If you’re 6’1” or bigger you better find a mean streak or you should be sent back down to Grand Rapids. Hit someone!

  3. Is this a win for the Coyotes by proxy?

What's going on with Talbot/Gibson? When is this plan going to return dividends? It's been 9 years.
