The question remains, what are the leafs offering in return?

  1. Through 32 games, I’ve seen absolutely nothing from the Leafs to suggest ANY assets should be spent on this roster by Brad Treliving.

When the foundation of the house is so poorly built, you don’t let the builder continue layering on top of it.

  2. Who could/would we give that the flames would want?

I’d assume they want younger guys to add to their core so that would be Cowan, Knies, or even Hildeby to backup Wolf. We definitely don’t have the picks they’d want.

Maybe they take Nick Robertson as an add on piece or Stecher as D replacement in a package.

  3. This isn’t the team that we should be going all-in with. They really should be closer to sellers than buyers.

  4. The Leafs don’t really have anything to offer unless the Flames haven’t seen Brandon Carlo play in 2 years.

  5. Can’t believe people buy into this garbage.

Flames owner is petty AF and because of the way Tre left the flames, they will never do a deal with Toronto so long as Tre is our GM.

Also this is like the 5th time I’ve seen this same Pierre lebrun quote posted. This quote is like a week old. There’s nothing new being posted here.

  6. It’s nice that Pierre is connecting dots and all, but is Maloney really gonna let this happen at a decent price? Not likely.

  7. Problem is the leafs have nothing to trade. So the best they can do is a mid 6 type player and I’m afraid that won’t do much good. Unless…they find that one player who has really good chemistry with matthews. To that I say good luck!

  8. 1. Flames aren’t going to trade with us unless we WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpay

    2. We don’t have the future assets to realistically make an offer for Andersson

    3. We would likely need to make a “hockey trade” involving player for player (ie Carlo + something for Andersson) and that wouldn’t fit what Calgary is doing

  9. Fuuuuuuuuuck there goes our 2028 1st, rebuild will get delayed yet another year. Fuck this team man

  10. Given our assets and what we’d be willing to trade, it’s only possibile if the owner somehow saw value in a Phaneuf-like trade lol.

Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers, and Ian White.

I think the equivalent is something like Domi, Robertson, Pezzetta, and Benoit?

And before anyone says anything, no I dont think it makes sense for Calgary to trade Andersson for anything other than a package of picks + prospects or that the above package has any kind of real quality value.

  11. Calgary will never trade with Toronto, because their owner is a diaper shitting baby who doesn’t like that Treliving left.

  12. This is part of the scary thing about the position Tre is in. His back is against the wall and he knows his time here is going to be short if he can’t make a post-season run. He has no reason to give a shit about the long term health of the org because he knows he’s probably not going to be a part of it. Could easily see him completely emptying the cupboards here in an attempt to save his own job
