Kraken Caught Lackin | Toyota Game Recap 12/16/2025

We may even break up highlights if he comes. 12 minutes to go. ABS on the move. Marty up top. Going to throw it on net. And there’s Lechin with the magic wand. Well, great job by Josh Manson. We heard from him earlier in the game saying I just wanted to get it to somebody better than me. Gives it to Nas getting pucks to the net. Double screen. Manson and Lechan. And Leinan gets a tip on it. Grubower never sees it. It was going wide. That slight deflection from Lechan. All right, second period. Kraken come out with some pepper. They were good here in the second period. Shane Wright in the right spot. Talked about it earlier. Chaos at the net front. That’s what teams are trying to do to the avalanche. You see four Kraken players here at the net front battling for the rebound. There’s a screen in front. So, Blackwood can’t handle it cleanly, but two and three whacks. It’s so hard for a goalender to make the second and third saves. And there’s two Kraken. They’re inside the two ABS defenders and Shane Wright coming in from the side there to tap it in. All right, 3 minutes later, Mattie Beneers with some speed up front. Throws it. Blackwood makes the initial save, but he can’t hang on for the tap in. This is an oddman rush. And you can see Macar go at Marchment and Baneer. A [music] beautiful pass to Larson. Blackwood gets across and makes that save. This puck [music] trickles down the back of his leg and Everly as he’s falling over puts it in. Nothing Blackwood can do on that one. So, a 2-1 lead now. You got a little skirmish over by the sideboards. Puck’s going to come out. Find a Chushkin. He’s got Sammy G. Let her go. Gabe Lanniscott gives a little shot to Marchman over on the boards. Most punchable face in the NHL. I always say Brent Burns trying to feed Gerard goes off Everly Skate and Nushkin on a T for Sammy G and you can’t put a better shot than that just inside the post about 18 in over Gau’s pad. So it’s late in the period trying to kill a questionable penalty. This one’s going to go right off Brent Burns skate. It’s a [music] tough bounce. Blackwood is playing the crossseam pass. So, he pushes and when he pushes right here, you can see it just kicks off Burns’s skate and beats him as he’s going to look for that one-time through the scene. So, they were down 2-1, they were down 3-2. Third period, 2 and 1/2 minutes in. Hockey gods owe the ABS one after that. They’ll get it. McKinnon off the rear end of Larson. Seattle feeling really good at the end of the second period. And now all of a sudden you start to grip the sticks a little tighter. McKinnon says, “Thank you ice and hockey gods for this hammered one-time off the old backseat of Adam Larson.” Oh, he’s not thanking the hockey gods. He’s picking up his mouth guard. Never mind. That’s mine. That’s my mistake. That’s okay. Hockey gods don’t care. It’s my first one ever. Uh there was a weird penalty in here was at the end of a power play. See the puck is underneath Blackwood. Manson kind of reaches in there. They said, “No, no, no. You can’t put your hand over the puck.” You can see the ref signaling right away, but Josh Manson, I don’t think he actually puts his hand on the puck. It’s tough to tell. The ref is right there, but if you put your hand on the puck in the crease as a player, it’s a penalty shot. Manson’s arguing that he actually swipes at the puck to bring it into Blackwood, but the referee was sure and made the call right away. There you can see on the right side of your screen, Josh Manson very unhappy. He was uh fired up in the >> He was my favorite player today. Yes, >> he was awesome. Jordan Everly. Nope. Post. >> Two penalty shots in the last week plus saved by McKenzie Blackwood. You can see he holds that glove high. Everly tries to go high glove and I think Blackwood gets the slightest piece of that and then it’s off the post. Wanted to [snorts] get the winning goalender in there. Uh where are we at? Uh 2 minute power play. Well, this was 8 seconds. Oh, this is Brock Nelson. There are no questions on that one. If the ABS ever deserve to score on the power play, it was right here to take the lead in the third. And Brock Nelson, his 13th of the year. He has been on fire. That first power play unit, I will say, looked good for the majority of those reps and they get rewarded in the third period. Thank God. All right, ABS do get a little man advantage here late. Nathan McKinnon. God, I’m so glad he wears burgundy and blue. >> You and mead, friend. You and me both. But this is all because Gabe Lannis [music] go battling inside the blue line. What a shift from the captain. Results in a empty netter for the dog. 5-3. Good guys. You look at some of the numbers here tonight. Lot of shots, lot of action. Didn’t necessarily expect eight [music] goals here tonight, but that’s what we get. And you get the two points and you move on.

  1. I have to ask, does Ross Colton use a stick that is the wrong length for him? Every game I see him take peewee style whiffs of the puck and in this game it lead to an opposition goal. Js a thought written out
