Rich Eisen on His Growing Level of Concern for New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Bro, how many times are you going to be blutented or sit out due to concussions until you just step out of bounds? >> Yeah, Christian house. >> When are you going to listen? Because he remains adamant about still playing the manner in which he’s been playing. And I saw that earlier this week. going to be honest with everybody. We were going to we were going to do this on our show yesterday or two days ago, whenever it came out yesterday. But there was too much going on for us to to hit it. And for the lack of a better phrase, hit it. But I I was going to show that and say, “Listen, Jackson, they are talking about you as a running back because of your behavior to stay in bounds.” And the people he’s telling it to include Bobby Wagner. >> Okay? And you don’t want Bobby Wagner to treat you like a running back. No. So, I was going to say that and then Jackson Dart speaks yesterday and he went to the podium basically said, “Oh, I’ve heard I I I hear it and I’m going to do something completely.” No, wait a minute. I’m being told he’s still adamant. >> Oh gosh. >> I mean, Kirby Smart said the exact same thing every time that he played against me. So did Nick Sabin. So did every coach that I played in college. So, um, this is nothing new. Um, you know, just try to, you know, go out there, play smart, um, and be available for your team. >> What did they say? Did they say stuff like, you know, he’s not gonna slide. We have to hit him. And what kind of stuff did Kirby Smart? >> I mean, I can’t, you know, put together exactly what they said, but uh, there was definitely a lot of interviews, you know, you guys can, you know, we can all go back and look at and um, this isn’t like a a new thing that’s been brought up in in my career. >> I’m so nervous. >> Again, I’m I might be overly cautious. I don’t know. That’s That’s the dad end. Maybe that is like I hear that. I’m like, “Oh my god.” Because But let me just put it in football terms. Okay. >> I’ve told this story before. I’m sorry. I feel like you guys are like Susie where you’ve heard all my stories 50 times. So, I apologize. There may be just a new audience. >> I hate someone who’s listening. >> Okay. Thank you. I appreciate that accommodation from you. Thank you, sir. Um >> Pton Manning comes in the league from Tennessee. Marshall Fox next to him in pretty much every formation and thus when there was an interception that Payton threw in his rookie season, 28 of them I believe. >> Yeah. Okay. The league. >> Uh Marshall would be running off the field most of the time right next to Pton Manning. And Marshall tells the story that Pton would say the same thing almost all the time after some of many of these interceptions was, “I didn’t think he could get there.” Meaning the defensive back couldn’t he he thought the his receiver was open. didn’t think the defensive back would be able to make it to the spot where Payton is throwing it. Instead, he did throw it to that spot. The guy did make it, picked him off. Marshall said he’d let him say that frequently, trying to let him figure it out himself, which by the way, yada yada yada. He did. He has um but until Marshall finally said he told him, Payton, this is the NFL. They can all get there. >> That’s true. >> Not in the SEC anymore. And that’s what I will say to Jackson Dart. You’re not in the SEC anymore. It doesn’t matter if Kirby Smart said it or Nick Sabin said it. It doesn’t matter, okay? Cuz these are now grown ass men >> who can all get there. Many of them, by the way, and the push back could be and understandably, a lot of those guys who can get there now were in the SEC when Kirby was saying this and Nick Sabin was saying this. I I totally get that and and he may just be defiant in front of the media while um addressing this mentally behind the scenes, but I still haven’t seen it yet. He’s playing just a little too reckless for me. >> Five trips to the blue tent >> blue tent and half the games, right? >> Uh I I don’t know. This is why I I would be willing. The Giants have got three games to go. I know Jackson Dart doesn’t want to hear it. And I I I you know, one day I do hope to meet him in person. You know, I know a lot of these rookies who flash as well as he has flashed in his first season do make Super Bowl tours and we would be happy to have Jackson Dart on the program if he does show up in Santa Clara when we’re there, in San Francisco when we’re there. Um, but Minnesota and at Vegas and home for Dallas. Uh, I I I’d put Jamus out there, man. That’s eight straight losses now for the Giants. Eight. And you know, I if I’m the Giants, I want that first overall pick and I want the Raiders right behind me and I want any other I want, you know, our co-enants right behind me >> and I want any name me the quarterback needy team. I want them calling Joe Shane up and offering the moon because you do have Dart and you do have Scataboo and you do have Malik Neighbors all coming back. I just don’t want Dark to be in the coming back category. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Cleveland, Jets, Arizona, all behind them right now. >> Honestly, Bobby Wagner’s hearing go and hit him. >> Yeah. I mean, >> the ball is life. >> Yeah. >> It is air. >> We need it. >> I hear that. >> And that’s and that’s a commander team. That’s that’s equally as eliminated as the Giants. Again, my I shouldn’t share this, but I will anyway. Uh my my teen, but any father of of teenagers or mother of teenagers listening as well understands, you know, teenagers don’t like to be told what to do and and they don’t like because they feel infantilized, >> right? And certainly in this day and age of phones and putting down time on them and making sure they’re off their screens because they are the devil. They’re even our devil, too, right? These screens. Um, I I I I bet you Jackson feels infantilized by saying, “Son, you’re not playing. We don’t trust you right now cuz you’re you’re you’re putting your head down or you’re we we just don’t need these concussions are happening too fast. We don’t we don’t want you to do this blue tent thing. So, the way to go about it, your 2025 season is done. You’re awesome. The the city loves you. The Giants fans hope have hope in you, right? Am I wrong? Am I am I over am I over I don’t think so I mean I see where you’re coming from from a health perspective but when we first put that out on social it was overwhelming that people Giants fans didn’t want to hear it they >> well it was also three weeks ago when we did it with six games to go now there’s three and he had his fifth tent trip to the tent and he after the game was like I don’t know why they took me out like I’m fine I don’t know why they took me out it’s like the reason why is the people who are taking you out know the National Football League a little bit better than you do. And it’s the same way that again being a father of teenagers is just like, “Hey, listen. Uh I’ve I’ve been I’ve been around a little bit longer than you. I know.” And you know what the the push back is? You don’t know. >> No, you don’t know. Dad, you’re dumb. >> So I I kind of feel like this is a bit of a push pull. >> I am dumb sometimes though. I can admit that. So I kind of feel that way. I understand what the push back is. >> I get in terms of you know winning foot winning football games right now. Do you want you don’t want Jackson Dart to go out on on an eightgame losing streak. I understand you want to put them out there. >> You also don’t want to win the last >> Vikings. I I would imagine it does not help them. No. >> No. So >> well and I guess maybe the best way to lose those games might not be to put Jameson there. Well, I mean, >> yeah, because next thing you know, he’s got 330 and four touchdowns and three picks. Somehow you win the game. Like, >> and then there’s Russ. Russ is sitting there right now. >> Here we go. >> Russ Russell Wilson is sitting as a third string quarterback. >> Well, you still want people to go to the game, >> which is wild, though. all of these stats that I keep seeing in front of me about all of these rookies and these secondyear starters and third year starters or Momes in year seven. >> Do you know who’s right there with him in terms of first, six, seven years of a career is Russell Wilson. Hall of Fame trajectory 100%. So again, I I’m I am concerned that Jackson Dart has this maybe this is what makes him successful, this sort of rebellious, adamant streak in him. It’s what led him to the Giants drafting him first overall. And you need that confidence as a quarterback. But right now, I just I I don’t know if it’s sunk in. And I’m sure his point would be it doesn’t need to. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. I’ll say it for the adnausiumed time … go back to leather helmet hats and they stop immediately. Nobody is going to spear like they do now with their motorcycle helmets on. They will naturally try to protect their heads when the feeling of a lack of protection is there.

  2. To be fair dart has been sliding more and this last game he didn't even take a big hit. They're just being cautious. And the pats hit looked worse than it was. He only had 1 concussion and it was the ground that caused it not a hit. He was definitely more reckless before the concussion.

  3. 1:59 cautious is an understatement. Rich people with no sense of reality, including everybody over at ESPN now.ITS Sports entertainment Richard . STH FOR OVER 30 YEARS. Can people just enjoy life. And not based on wins and losses. What's it like to be rich, living with a glass half attitude?

  4. 5:00 I'm back on the wagon rich. I couldn't agree with you more. Why are you not blaming the offensive coordinator, calling on number 6 to run the ball after he just got out of concussion protocol 🤘🏼

  5. Rich joining the media circlejerk but glazes other QBs that are equally or more wreckless. Show video of the play he got pulled. It was completely unnecessary.

NFL is over correcting the Daboll incident and didn’t even see when Dart was actually out cold. This league is an optics only joke.

  6. 5:23 here you go again Rich, you're so out of touch with reality. You think this idiot is going to be our GM after the end of the season? Jan 5th GONE. Maybe you should go look at the job that Joe has done. Before you make an uneducated statement like that OR AT LEAST FOLLOWED UP BY SAYING IF HE'S STILL HERE

  7. They need to actually be investigated. Dart has not actually had more than 1 concussion this year but they've thrown him inthe tent every time he's hit.

Yiu put someone i. The tent qhen they "exhibit" tentacles of someone who has experienced a concussion.

They're throwing him i there bexaue he got hit, not bexause he's wobbling around or has limp spasm of limbs or appendages.

The NFL should be investigated for shats going on with him. It's intentional and it's acrually influencing their games.

The .edical teams who are instructed to acr udner the NFL should 100% be investigated and under watch from here on out with this.

  8. Stop u media his act like teams have never game planned like that with other running qbs and also the exaggeration with the concussion protocols. U telling me the media doesn't have a hand in the amount of tent visits. Its football bozos

  9. I don't care for Russell Wilson at all but I'm pretty sure he did throw for 450 yards against the cowboys this year. Everybody is trashing him. I don't get it. Fkem. But still …450

  10. They make him go to the blue tent it isn’t his choice the nfl is soft you play a contact sport and they don’t want them making contact that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard if he wants too he should be able too without them putting him in a tent

  11. Can we all just let him play. I see people get hit like him all the time and nothing. He gets hit and the immediately send to tent. One concussion. So did Josh Allen his rookie year and he has changed

  12. Easy now. Russ has 1 ring carried by the best defense of the 21st century, and threw a pick to blow another one. Mahomes has 3 in the case surrounded by criminals and pop culture stars, and a dad who gets a DUI every other year.

    -Pats fan

  13. This is so exaggerated. If he played in literally any other position they wouldn’t have looked twice at 95% of his hits that have been demanded from up top to bring him into the tent.

  14. This is so overblown. The league got scared because they missed the one he actually did have. And now these media brain slop takes are putting pressure on them so now anytime he takes a hit they blue tent him. They’re like 0-5 at actually determining a concussion.

  15. The concern is for a young man who is the future of a franchise that wants him to play at least 10 healthy productive years. You can't run out in the open as a QB. The Patriot game running down the sideline where he got way laid. Like dude step out if bounds.

  16. Having the stance of pulling a rookie for remainder of games is the complete opposite signals they push for rookies like cam ward and shedeur. Why would you pull a rookie when you've already handed him the reigns?

  17. I'm a Jaxson Dart band wagoner's ,all he needs to do is use your arm to keep the defense honest when he scrambles slide , plus now my Giants have their starting Q.B. in Dart, we can get another Q.B. a 1st round pick, Arch Manning to the number 3 position cip board in hand
