Everybody, get ready for tonight’s Sharks stars clash as uh the Sharks look to avenge uh their loss to the Stars from a couple weeks ago. Uh Sharks also looking to win four straight games right now uh and continue to solidify themselves as a potential playoff team. So, uh we’re going to start by looking at how these two teams match up. Uh how good this Dallas Stars team actually is. Uh spoiler, they’re very good. uh the lines for projected lines for tonight and then what to watch for in this game. So uh let’s get started with the Dallas Stars who are 227 and five. Uh your San Jose Sharks currently at 1714 and three and this Dallas team is very good. Uh 3.29 goals for per game. Good for fourth best. 2.59 goals for allowed per game. fifth best in the NHL. Sharks are at 2.97 creeping up towards that uh middle of the pack at 18th uh for goals four and then 3.29 uh goals allowed 24th. Uh 31.4% power play for the Stars second uh and 82.4% PK which is 10th. The Sharks power play again hovering in the middle of the pack 18.5 uh for 18th and then 78.6% PK for 23rd. Jason Robertson leads the stars with 20 goals and Miko Rantin leads with 30 assists and 44 total points. And Celebrity leads in all categories with 18 goals, 33 assists, and 51 points uh so far this season. So, uh this Dallas Stars team very good at hockey. Uh they’re second in the NHL when it comes to points and uh if it wasn’t for the Colorado Avalanche in their own division, they’d be leading their division. uh this team it’s they are very much uh able to shoot and score kind of above projections like they don’t create a lot of expected goals for uh defensively they’re kind of more in the middle of the pack but they make up for it with uh insane talent like why Johnson Robertson Rico Ransen offensively and then Jakeer and Casey Smith have both been having great seasons as well and the special teams are excellent Excellent for the Dallas Stars. So, uh, the way they are expected to line up, Steel, Wyatt Johnson, and Miko Rantin, uh, top line, Robertson, Hint, and Ben on the second line. Uh, her huskovian, that’s how I say Ritzkovian, Duchain and Bourc on the third. Backf Fox and Blackwell on the fourth line. Lindell, Heskin, Harley, Labouchkin, Lungquist, uh, Petror, and Atter is expected to start for the Stars. Uh, for the Sharks, um, couple little just kind of one change here. Graph celebr Skinner. And then Delandria with Goodro, a stop truck Reeves on the fourth line. Uh no changes defensively. So Orlock, Clingberg, Ferraro, Lilligran, Muka, Madul, and Iorio. Uh Dickinson scratched uh healthy scratched I guess development day or I don’t know what they’re doing with Dickinson. Hopefully we’ll find out more here. So then Nadulkovich is getting the start. So um as we quickly went over last time these two play teams played, right, it was a very kind of slow, sluggish game. Uh that was very close until the final 10 minutes when the Stars just kind of put the gas pedal down uh and ran away with this as in a four to one win, right? Um so I don’t expect that type of game, especially if the Sharks can play the way that they did against the Calgary Flames. Uh Flames stars are two very much two different teams when it comes to just the quality of teams that they’re playing. So I think for San Jose um is to the first thing is how do you take advantage of your opportunities in this game um because I think the Stars are going to give you some right they’re going to give you some opportunities uh but you got to take advantage of them and not leave yourself in a vulnerable position like we saw against the Flames where right all three of the Flames goals came off the transition and the Sharks were in bad position in most of those uh cases. Uh and if you try to do that with the Stars, uh they are absolutely deadly and they’re going to continually take advantage of this games. Uh if if you try to get into a track meet with the Stars, u I don’t think it’s going to work out for you. So I think puck possession and trying to get the cycle going as best you can. uh with shernes and uh celibbrini agraph I think with shernes is going to give you a little bit of that cycle game on the top line to go with the winberg ekllin to fully game which can get the cycle going. So I think puck possession and trying to manufacture shots and then take advantage of said shots uh if you’re the San Jose Sharks. So uh I think that’s that’s key number one is don’t get into a track as much as fun as it is. try not to get into a track meet with the stars because they’re gonna kill you. Uh they’re just too good. They’re too talented and uh why Johnson like they just have too many good players uh to to not be able to take advantage of it. So I think that’s uh number one. Number two, try to play as much at five on five as possible because the Sharks clearly have a disadvantage if this goes to a special teams uh game. Uh the Stars team’s power play is again absolutely deadly. Um and I think the Sharks are going to want to try to play this at five on five as long as possible. Uh and just hold on the PK. Hold on like kitten on the the clothes line. Hold on. Hang on because uh you cannot give this uh Stars Power Play a ton of opportunities and expect to win. So, um, other big things I’m watching for tonight is, uh, right, last game we got a ton of, uh, secondary scoring, right? Two goals from Barkley Goodro. Uh, like I don’t expect that, uh, in this game. I think that’s a pretty reasonable expectation not to not expect Barkley Groto’s two score two goals. But where else can the Sharks get scoring from, right? Is it Cardwell? Is it, you know, the Godette Dandria somewhere on that third line? Can you get some more scoring? Uh, does Wenberg have a goal in him tonight? Like, where else can the Sharks get more scoring? Because I do think you’re going like the Stars are going to score. You you just be prepared for that. The Stars are going to score goals because uh they’re very good at it. So, uh I think the Sharks need to uh you’re going to have to try to score three or four tonight to have a chance uh to win this game. So, I don’t really have a great feeling about this game. I think the Sharks are competitive. I think it’ll be a little bit more energy than the last time, but I think what we’ll see happen is it’ll be pretty close and then at some point in the third period, the Stars are again just going to kind of put the hammer down and run away from the Sharks. So, uh, I got the Stars winning five to3 in this game. Uh, give me a Shernov goal, though. I’m going to go out on a limb and say Shernishov scores a goal because, uh, he watching his tape, he he had some opportunities. So, I think Celabbrini continues to do Cabbrini things. I think Shernov scores his goal, but I think the Sharks uh, I don’t know if they have the horses to be able to kind of keep up with the Stars in this game for a full 60 minutes. So, uh, which should be it’s okay, right? It’s okay. The Stars are a really good team. So, uh, we’re going to break down this game tonight, uh, on your next episode of Locked on Sharks. 5-1 stars
Think Smith will be put back on the top line once he’s back? With how well Chernyshov, Graf, etc are playing I wonder….
Kilngberg Hattie??
They are gonna send Dickinson to world juniors, buy even more time for Grier to move someone
How many goals will Mikko score tonight? 🤔
This team should absolutely lose this game tonight and I expect them to. I also expected them to not reach 500 this season. And I didn’t expect them to hold their playoff spot for more than a week. And I didn’t expect Celebrini to stay top 3 in scoring. And I certainly didn’t expect them to erase a 5-1 deficit. Do I expect them to win, hell no. But they have proven that they are capable of anything.
