I’d be cautiously optimistic that at least offensive performance would eventually improve but I wouldn’t expect him to get this incarnation of the Kings to the top of the hill. It’s just not an elite roster and our GM is a dope.

The issue is bigger than the coach
At this point I don’t care. Everyone in management and coaching needs to be fired. The players are clearly not happy. Denault who is a team first guy has asked to be traded so it’s clear something toxic is going on.
I don’t like how he handled otter
BUT hiller did the same with QB, and Deboer is a HELL of a lot better of a coach that I would take in a heartbeat
compared to Hiller fantastic

Well, just kinda like Corey Perry, he went to the SCF three times with 3 different teams, and lost. But hey, if we made it to the SCF I’d be happy.
He is the best option, however nothing is going to get this team over the hump at this point. My belief is there is more than just a coaching issue.

This team isn’t going to win anything before it gets torn down and rebuilt, so I’d feel pretty shitty if they hired a coach with a “win now” appeal because it just means the front office is still too stupid to see that it’s over.

Not a stars fan but I distinctly remember them hating DeBoer last playoffs for the exact same reason we all hate Hiller. Stuck in his old ways, stubborn, doesn’t make any adjustments etc

It would be an upgrade, but he seems to have a relatively short shelf life so if this team was more SC contender now then good. But not convinced sure its the best long term hire.
