Eagles still have a (highly unlikely) path to the 1 Seed!

There is a better chance of the Cowboys making the playoffs than us getting the 1 seed.
The 1 seed is gone, there is no 1 seed
I’ll be cool with the just us winning out part
AND we gotta make sure the 49ers don’t tie us, they have a tie breaker up unless they lose to the Bears.
I don’t know how, in terms of tie breaker rules, I just know the ESPN playoff machine has it that way.
I thought the Bears need one more loss, to Detroit?
Found a parlay for people to play. Bet a $10 win $500,000
What about the 2 seed? Thats a little more realistic and guarantees two home playoff games.
Each of those could happen but the likelihood of them all happening is slim.
Giants, Cowboys, Chargers, could even throw Denver in there. That was our path to the 1 seed. All games we had every right to win but either didn’t show up or blew leads.
This team will need to take the toughest road
Any thing could happen in the post season
As much as I hate the Rams, I was rooting hard for them last night because I’d hate for us to go to Seattle for the NFC Championship game. We own the Rams and Seattle owns us…
Man I don’t want to be emotionally invested in the success of the freaking Carolina Panthers.
At this point I just want us playing solid football on offence and making the playoffs any which way tbh.
Win Saturday and lock in playoffs and first back-to-back divisional title in decades in this crazy division, then worry about next game.
Only Route:
Eagles:
3-0
Rams:
Lose 1
Seahawks:
Lose 2
49ers:
Lose to IND and CHI
Bears:
Lose to GB and DET
Packers:
Lose 1
We didn’t need the 1 seed last year. It’s nice, but it is what it is if we don’t
We will be playing the Packers, Lions or Bears at home.
If I did the math right, and if every game from this point out were a coin flip, there’s a 9/4096 chance of this happening, which is about 0.22%
2 seed for home playoff games. Then hope 1 seed loses first round and we’ll have another home championship.
I could be wrong but wouldn’t the bears need to lose two games?
Rams will unfortunate roll the falcons and cardinals. They just don’t have the means to stop the offense. Not in any meaningful way. Same with the Seahawks if Darnold doesn’t fuck them over. The niners will likely lose their two needed. The packers are banged up and the bears are still rolling. Packers probably beat the ravens and finish 1-2.
So the 1 seed would at least rely on Steichen and Gannon winning.
I’d be shocked if Seattle lost to Carolina, but I’ve seen crazier things.
I think there’s a highly likely chance that even if we get the third seed, should we win that first game, we will have at least a second home playoff game. The second seed is likely to be facing a divisional opponent for the 3rd time this year and you never know how those shake out.
There isn’t. But I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.
What’s the path to the 2nd seed does anyone have THAT graphic since that’s way more realistic
No shot. I’ll take the division and maybe a 2 seed
I’m a believer
Its going to sound weird but I’d rather have 2 guaranteed weeks’ rest and a potential 4 game postseason than a fractional chance at 1 week’s rest and a potential 3 game postseason.
Is it bad that I can foresee all of those things happening except us winning out? We’ll smoke the Commies and keep the Bills in check only to stub our toes right at the finish line.
Serious question: when teams are eliminated from playoff contention and people in the organization say they are still trying to win “for the fans”, does any true fan want them to actually win? Like, once my team is out, tank all fucking day. I want the highest pick I can get. I know players feel differently (obviously) but I never understand the whole “fans want us to win regardless” spin on things. Am I in the minority?
Let’s just do what we did last year? That worked out pretty well. 2 seed baby!
I doubt we try to win out. It would be smart to rest as many players as we can. They had a short offseason and if they want to go long in the playoffs, they need to be healthy.
Can’t we be happy with finishing 3rd? I don’t mind second if things pan out that way but this team hasn’t played well enough to deserve a 1-seed
I’ll be happy with the NFC East title and getting everyone healthy for the playoffs.
One seed is gone but I think we have to win out for the 2 seed
Rams might win the last 2 games man
I’d rather win Saturday and rest our starters than push for the 1 seed
Eagles didn’t have the 1 seed last year, how’d they do
Seems three seed is inevitable. But who knows
l’m the odd ball here but l think playing in warmer weather if they play LA again is a good thing.
Philly will be playing in Santa Clara soon. Just not in the Super Bowl. 42-19…..🤣
man it’s so frustrating that we could be so well setup for the 1 seed if we didn’t completely shoot ourselves in the foot
Hope the standings hold. Seahawks winning was the best outcome for us. Wouldn’t mind the 49ers at home in the first round. Rams are the team i’m most concerned about, and with the loss they likely won’t get a bye and their team is starting to break down physically and if we were to see them in the 2nd round it would be a home game for us. Seahawks won but Darnold still looks shaky and if we have to go to Seattle, Darnold vs our defense possibly in the elements, I love our chances.
It wouldnt be that bad if Seattle didnt have to lose out
We sound like the Cowboys still trying to make the playoffs 😂. The chance is there but it won’t happen. I’ll be happy with breaking the Curse of the East, but as for the playoffs, their offense will really need to step up to have a chance.
I remember one season, for us to get in the playoffs, we had to win and 4 other teams had to lose. And they did!!!
We have the same probability that Jim Carrey’s character had when he originally used this line.
