That’s a HELL of a deal.
I’m a massive Pirates realist/skeptic and baseball fan first. You can go through my comment history showing me bashing the FO and ownership not spending enough, or being too complacent.
With that said, this is a massive W for the Pirates. Nick Gonzalez is simply not as good at hitting as we initially thought, and this gives 2B a huge power boost, which is what this team was needing. On top of that, you get more flexibility with Gonzo at SS until Griffin gets up here.
Burrows was also probably our weakest “young pitching prospect” that we had the honor of trading.
GMBC has been lulling the league this whole time.
