Warsofsky on Celebrini Raising Game, What Chernyshov Can Improve | Sharks Post-Game (12.18.25)
Coach, it seemed like every period seemed like a well played game that you should have came out on top of each of those periods with couple of mistakes at the end of the day against a team like that was the game. >> Yeah, I thought we played uh pretty well and we just gave them a couple there. Um the first two out of our structure um and Dzone and won the power play there they got. So, um had our opportunities. when you just look at those the stakes obviously the fourth goal is went through there. What did you see? N said, you know, it’s a play he executed before in the game. What did you see in the fourth goal against? >> Yeah, I mean uh we gave it right to him. Tough timing. >> Um what’s the uh are those mistakes just the difference between you and the the stars? You guys obviously played with them the entire game with them most of the whole game. >> Um yeah, I mean we got to clean up a couple things. Um but that that we we played a hard hard game against a a really tough opponent that’s um built extremely well as far as their size, their strength, their big forwards, a superstar in Ranton and Robertson. I mean hence you know Heskin and you go down the line. So uh we went punch to punch with them uh and came up a little short. You know we shoot ourselves in the foot a couple times and uh they bury it, we get some chances, they save it. So sometimes that happens. >> Comparing uh the against the game two weeks ago [snorts] against him though, is there just a extra swagger that you guys are playing with now? >> Yeah, I say that’s fair to say. We have uh we’re starting to we’re starting to figure it out uh how hard we have to play, you know, the identity we need to play with, the structure we need to play with. Um you know, you can feel it when we get some momentum that we’re playing with it a little bit longer. We’re getting some good looks. Um we’re playing quicker. So there’s definitely um there’s been definitely been a step in our game here. >> So coach, is it easier to rebound when you play against a team of this ilk that well and then you can say that we play well against a top two team and we should be able to respond well after this? >> Yeah, I hope so. You know, I think like I said, like I just said, we we have a good thing going as far as how we want to play. Um, and I thought that was one of our really one of our better games of the year and unfortunately we come up with the loss. But, um, we’ll get better. There’s some things we got to we got to clean up, but um, there’s some real big positives that we can take from this and and we got to move forward. It’s we play again on Saturday. >> One of the big positives was that top line with Turnishoff, you know, Matt them doing that tic-tac-toe goal to craft second one. So, how nice to have those guys have that chemistry kind of right away like that? >> Yeah, it’s it’s been nice. you know, I thought kind of they had their moments throughout the game and then, you know, big one there in the third. Um, Graford’s obviously he’s playing at a high level right now. I think Churnney’s come up and given us some good really good shifts and done some really good things. We’ll kind of keep working with him to improve some things in other areas of the ice, but he’s done good. >> What are some things that I can improve and what did you like about his game tonight? >> You know, just to play away from the puck, his wall play, uh, getting into defenseman, his finer details of of of playing at this level. uh which is to be expected. It’s not on the kid. It’s um we’re gonna have to work with him on some details of his game, but he’s going to be a good player. >> Say at this second intermission there after that goal motions I’m sure at that point. What do you what was kind of your message? >> Uh message was it was 5-1 against Pittsburgh. It’s only 4-2 against Dallas. >> So we’ve done it. This is a a smaller hill to climb. We know we got it in here to do it. Um, nothing need to be said really other than that. >> Has Mlin elevated his game? I mean, if you go back to the last part of the Pittsburgh game where he’s in on the last three goals, >> the last game in tonight. Has he taken his game to another level? >> Yeah, you feel like every game he takes the game to another level really. Um, he’s on a mission. He’s been on a mission since training camp and it just seems like when you’re as competitive as he is, he wants to just get better and better and better and that’s what great players do. and you can see that uh he’ll come out Saturday and he’ll be wanting to get right after it again and he’ll be flying and and making things happen and being compet competitive and dragging guys into the fight. So, um yeah, he’s done a really good job of that. >> I mean, losing Will Smith on his side is almost like that’s a challenge for him almost takes that challenge. >> You could say that, you know, but we’ve had some guys who step up and played some good minutes for him. You know, it’s hard to question ever, you know, giving Mlin the puck, but in that third where Graph had kind of that breakaway. How do you see that? >> Well, we laugh because I told Graph to shoot more pucks this morning. Um, but I do understand um again, they’re going to take the stick out of his hand. He’s got to make the play. He’s he he can make that read. He’s a high offensive player. Has been his whole life. So, um you know, those plays are going to happen. >> Go against most of the night. What you think that that Lions game overall? It just seemed like a tough >> Yeah, I tried to, you know, we tried to go away from it there a little bit uh through the second period and had to come back to it. Thought they I thought they actually did a pretty good job. You know, that’s that that’s probably one of the tougher teams for us to match up against. How deep they are. Uh their bottom sixes can can skate and and they can go. Their top six is big and heavy and and it’s a tough matchup uh to go against shift in and shift out. So, I think I thought they did a pretty good job. Uh again, it was it was more of a fiveman unit when we give up those two goals. >> Did you get another view of those stop chuck a no goal? Like did it seem pretty clearly a no goal or was >> it’s close but the one view that we we saw at the end there it’s about the crossbar. Okay. Thanks for

Sharks showed higher highs, but lower lows. Once those lows are improved(better Dman), Sharks are going to be deadly.
Hopefully Chernyshov stays with the Sharks full time. He's shown he belongs in the NHL, and all his necessary improvement is related to experience at that level
They played em better tonight than they did in Dallas.

Ned hasn't learned from earlier in the season-stop pretending you can play the puck dude.
