HOERNER TO THE GIANTS? | Cubs Baseball Channel

Nico her from the Bay Area could be going to the Giants, right? Well, at least the uh the rumor was that the Giants checked in on Nicoer and that that’s been out a little bit. That was on the uh it was on December 17th uh that Suzanne Slusher of the San Francisco Chronicle said that that the Giants checked in on Nico. Nico won a gold glove and he hit 297 and he’s really good with runners in scoring position, right? And he’s about as solid of an everyday player as you can have. And the Giants need a second baseman. And so Nico, who’s from the Oakland, California area, and I asked him, I said, “Are you a Giants fan?” He said he told me he was an A’s fan growing up, but I think he could be a Giant in a in a in a snap of a finger. And that Giants team, it’s going to be a lot of fun. Tony Vitello, their their new manager. The other thing is that Nico is going to be a free agent at the end of the year. And you wonder if the Cubs are going to be willing to pay what he could potentially make, right? And and it makes a lot of sense because the Cubs have Matt Shaw and if they sign Alex Bregman who plays third, uh they’re not going to want to get into the same situation that the Red Sox got in last year, um where they had two guys playing third base and then one guy got mad and then they asked him to play first. He didn’t want to do He’s a DH and then they end up trading him to the Giants.

  4. Oh God here we go again that comes don’t wanna spend money cause he might be a free agent. I’m getting so sick of this. I’ve had it up to here. Oh, he’s gonna become a free agent at the end of the year so we gotta get rid of them we don’t wanna spend any money. This is what you are saying so we need to trade him. We don’t wanna pay him. This is so freaking frustrating. I hope this is not with the Cubs are gonna do, but I can sure see it happening. Look at what we were gonna be giving up defensively and offensively treating him is not going to make us a better team. I’m gonna point something else out that stings today. We didn’t bother to keep Kyle Schwarber and we let him go and there’s a lot of regret with cup fans and I can see that happening again with Nico i’m this morning when the Cubs are just going to commit to winning, I mean really commit because they are not doing that and it doesn’t look like they’re gonna be doing it this year and though they were better last year they didn’t commit to winning as well as far as committing to winning they seem to keep on kicking the can down the road oh well it’s out of my control
    Nothing‘s happening yet, but I definitely can see us happening. It sounds like something. Jed would definitely do. My hair type of things so I get really depressed. And based upon what I’ve seen with the Cubs trade him trade him trade him because you’re not gonna pay the money he’s gonna want when he’s a free agent cause it comes. Don’t wanna sign people to contracts long-term any type of big money or anything close to it so if you trade them now we will get some prospects and then if they’re develop, we have them for a couple years and when you become free agents will get rid of them again and get more prospects. There’s a pattern here. And I find it extremely depressing.
