BREAKING: RAYS MADE MULTIPLE MASSIVE TRADES!! Pirates FINALLY Added Power, Orioles & Padres Moves
No intro in today’s recap. We’re jumping straight into the breaking trade that the Rays just made with two other teams. It is a three-team trade. And then after that, the Rays made another trade with the Orioles. Michael King just signed a brand new contract. The Royals and Phillies made a trade. We have a lot to talk about today. The only thing I ask of you guys is to leave a like and if you haven’t already, hit that subscribe button. Let’s go crazy with the subscriptions today. Appreciate you. We have some breaking news. Brandon Laauo, I cannot believe that I’m about to say this sentence, is a Pittsburgh pirate. The Pirates added a power bat. Jesus might be coming back. But not only that, the Rays also gave the Pirates Jake Mangum and one of the hardest throwing relievers in all of Major League Baseball, Mason Montgomery. This is a huge trade. Remember though, two other teams are involved in this trade as well. The Astros are picking up Mike Burroughs from the Pirates. He’s 26 years old with a mid90s fastball. And as JRM would say, he has a uh good change up. No, he actually has an incredible change up. I just wanted to make that joke. Last year, Burroughs, to his credit, he had six starts going five plus innings, allowing two or fewer runs with six or more strikeouts. So, if Burroughs can get the command in check and really keep honing in on that change up, the Astros just got an awesome pickup. I’m going to break down the Pirates and their additions in just a moment, but real quick, the Rays, who are they getting in all of this madness? They’re picking up the number two prospect from the Astros, Jacob Melton. He’s coming off an insane season at AAA. He’s one of the best athletes in all of minor league baseball. The bat speed is there. The strikeouts of course are there just like any other supreme athlete. But along with that, again, the power, the arm strength, the speed, the ability to maybe go 2040 one day. Jacob Melton is the real deal. And the defense is awesome as well. The Rays are also picking up the number seven prospect from the Astros, Anderson Breurto. He is a big-time arm. I cannot wait to see what the Rays do with him. The Rays, they have so much pitching depth. they can afford to give away some of the rotation guys which they did another breaking trade but we’ll get to that in a second because I have to talk about the Pirates new and improved lineup and bullpen with Brandon Laauo Jake Mangum and Mason Montgomery going to the Pirates this is crazy Paul Ske is finally getting help when the off season first began there were rumors and reports that the Pirates were going to be in on power bats and I thought to myself we hear this every single year there’s no way but then they tried to get Josh Naylor I was like okay well that’s a good sign then they tried to get Kyle Schwarber they gave him a pretty solid offer They whiffed on both of those, but they have pivoted to one of the better power bats in all of Major League Baseball. The best power bat at second base, Brandon Freaking Lao. This is awesome. I’ll get this over with real quick. Important context about Brandon. He’s a free agent after 2026. So, it’s definitely a rental. But with the addition of Brandon Laauo, the lineup can go something like O’Neal Cruz, Brian Reynolds, Brandon Laauo, maybe a Spencer Horwitz. There’s going to be a lot of moving action when it comes to the Pirates. Joey Bart is going to be in there as well. Maybe Connor Griffin if he makes the opening a roster. I really hope that Connor Griffin does because he’ll be a top contender for rookie of the year, which means that the Pirates would get a free draft pick if he wins it. I need that. Come on, Pirates. Keep the momentum going. Wait, is this real? Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. The Pirates only had 117 home runs as a team last year. Cal Raleigh basically got half of that all by himself. One single human had basically half the home runs of an entire franchise. Brandon Laauo was a must for Pittsburgh. In just 134 games last year, Brandon Laauo had his second 30 home run season. He popped off for 31 home runs, 81 RBI’s, and a 116 OPS plus. He has a career 123 OPS plus. This guy rkes. Now, defensively, um, it’s not great. He had -12 DRS, and a lot of people are scoffing at that. It’s DRS, who cares? Well, outs of average had him even worse at -3. So yeah, the Pirates are not acquiring him for his elite defensive capabilities. Although maybe he can turn the clock back and find that groove again. Or maybe the Pirates just say, “Can you please go hit us 45 home runs? Thank you very much. We’re just going to put you at DH and keep you healthy.” Cuz we also brought in Jake Mangum. Now last year he was a 29year-old rookie, so he’s one of the older rookies we’ve seen in quite some time. He was pretty good in about 120ish games. Now the noodle bat is kind of there. He only had three home runs and 405 at bats. But he hit 296. He’s someone that gets on base. He had a 330 on base. And he plays awesome defense. Like really, really good defense along with 27 stolen bases cuz he’s quick as well. He’s just an overall awesome athlete. Again, aside from the power. But staying with power, the Pirates are also getting a power pitcher. Mason Montgomery. I’ve said this about a few pitchers over the last few years. The last time I used it was Ryan Stannic. He throws a bowling ball fast. Mason Montgomery throws a bowling ball fastball as well. It just seems like it gets to you and it’s heavy. After bursting onto the scene in 2024 with 17 strikeouts in his first nine innings, he was still really good with the strikeout stuff last year. He had 63 strikeouts in 46 innings, but the walks were all over the place and he got hit a whole lot more often. His hits per nine went from 5.6 to 9.6. Although the 5.6 was in a very small sample size. And let’s face it, he was bad last year, an almost 5.7year rate. But I love what the Pirates did with Dennis Santana. Maybe they can do the same thing. So that’s pretty much the Brandon Loud trade in a nutshell. The Pirates are picking up Lao, Jake Mangum, and Mason Montgomery. The Astros are getting a very talented pitcher who is under team control for a while and Mike Burroughs. And in all this madness, the Rays return is the number two prospect Jacob Melton from the Astros. And their number seven prospect Anderson Breurto. Breo is going to add to their absolute plethora of farm arms that are insanely talented. Tampa Bay was not done there. Another breaking trade. Shane Bos is going to the Orioles. And in return, the Rays, they got six different prospects in one single hour. They’re picking up outfielder Slater Debrun. If I said that wrong, I’m sorry. Catcher Kaden Boddine, right-handed pitcher Michael Forett, outfielder Austin Over, and a competitive balance pick, a competitive round A draft pick. So, it’s not a normal first round pick or anything like that. It’s a competitive balance pick which you can trade. I’ll do a quick little recap about the prospects going back to the Rays. So, they get Slater De Brun, a firstround draft pick out of high school. He’s one of the faster guys in baseball with an above average hit tool at 55. He also has 60 grade fielding. So, he’s kind of projected to be a Carl Crawfordesque type of player. Kaden Boddine, I believe, is also a former firstrounder. He’s a catcher. He has a plus hit tool. He’s a switch hitter with amazing plate discipline, and he’s got a decent little arm and fielding capabilities as a catcher. Michael Forett, the right-hander. He put up a 1.58 year last year with a 0.82 whip and he had a 32% strikeout rate. Austin Over, he had 13 home runs last year with a 750-ish OPS, a 360 on base, but he had 64 stolen bases. He actually has a 75 grade run tool with a 70grade field tool. So, one of the best athletes by far in the entire game, minor league or major league. So, in the span of an hour, the Rays got two top 10 Astros prospects and a bunch of top prospects from the Orioles. And to me, Baltimore, they paid a high price to get Shane Bos. Let’s talk about him now. The Rays picked up Shane Bos back in the day in that Chris Archer trade. And the last few years have been up and down for Shane Bos to say the least. He also unfortunately missed all of 2023 with Tommy John. He bounced back in 2024 with Vengeance. The strikeouts weren’t there, but he put up a three RA in his first 14 games back. 2025 the strikeouts went back up but the RA was almost at five. So why would the Orioles give away all of that depth for a guy with an almost 5year rate? Well, according to the Saber Metrics and kind of like looking under the hood, Shane Bos is a whole lot better than a 5year rate would suggest. He has an elite fastball, one of the best fast balls by any starting pitcher in baseball. He gets chases, he gets strikeouts, he does have a walkie issue from time to time, but also he keeps the ball on the ground, which is important. One thing I will say about Shane Bos is that he tried to develop a cutter last year. Maybe it’s going to be a whole lot better going forward. It reminds me of Clark Schmidt where his cutter got destroyed before it became good. Last year Shane had a 340 batting average and an almost 600 slugging against that pitch and he threw it 15% of the time which was by far his worst pitch and he got absolutely shellacked when he threw it. So maybe they just avoid it altogether or they keep on improving it and it’s another pitch in his arsenal which is pretty disgusting. The Orioles rotation can now go Trevor Rogers who was unreal last year. Kyle Bradish, he came back from injury and he looked impressive. They’ll probably go Shane Bos. There’s going to be a Dean Kmer in there. Tyler Wells, hoping that they can somehow unlock Kade Povich. I just need that for Kade. I think that he can be really good. The Orioles did this off the heels of picking up Pete Alonzo and trading for Taylor Ward. I mean, they are so much better than 2025. And they might not be done. There are rumors that the Orioles have made an aggressive push for Ranger Wars. Rumors are there’s like a four or fiveyear deal out there waiting for Rangers Wars. I’m not saying it’s done or that it’s even close, but if they can pick up Rangers, my god, this is going to be one of the best off seasonasons of all time. So, the Pirates address a big need in a power bat and Brandon Laauo. The Orioles get a starting pitcher in Shane Boss who could be disgusting. We have more trades to talk about. The Kansas City Royals are bringing in Matt Stro. He is no longer a Philly. Matt Stum has been one of the best lefty relievers in the entire game over the last few years. He’s not a big ground ball guy. Like he actually he’s one of the worst ground ball guys in all of baseball, but he does have elite stuff because he induces so many chases outside the zone and that slider is unhitable at times. So he’s going to the Royals. And one thing I need to notate about him as well, just like Brandon Laauo, he’s going to be a free agent after this year. So who are the Phillies getting in return? They’re picking up Jonathan Bolan. He throws hard. He has insane whiff rates on the fast ball and the slider. The walks can bite him. But here’s the big thing. He’s not a free agent until 2032. So, they opted for a guy who has similar chase rates, but he’s going to be on the squad for a while. Matt Shum, he was an awesome Philly. Kind of weird to see him go. Michael King, he’s going back to San Diego. He just resigned on a three-year, I’m going to put that in air quotes, three years, $75 million deal. There are optouts galore. He has an opt out after the first and second season. I believe $25 million is still pretty good, but I thought that Michael King was going to get more. 2025 was not his best season. He regressed. He also could not stay healthy, but we know how disgusting Michael King can be. Do you guys remember that postseason start two years ago or three years ago? In the wild card game against the Braves in 2024, King went seven shut out with no walks allowed and had 12 strikeouts. Honestly, one of the better October starts we’ve seen really ever. The Padres were not done there. And this kind of makes me sad. It’s officially over. The sticks experiment is done in Cleveland. The Padres’s are taking a flyer on Tristan McKenzie. Tristan has not been able to find the strike zone since 2022 when he had a 2.1 walks per nine and almost 200 innings. It went from 2.1 to a seven, then an almost six, and then last year it was only five and two/3 innings. But he had seven walks in those five and two/3s. It continued in the minor leagues. It just it’s rare for Cleveland not to be able to fix a guy, especially a guy that they developed. They just can’t figure it out. Come on, San Diego. Fix my man sticks. He’s one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. By the way, that’s not the only flyer that the Padres’s handed out yesterday. They just brought in Sun Mong. If I botched that entirely, I am so sorry. But he’s a 29-year-old Korean player who had a noodle bat his first few years over in the KBO. But the last few seasons, 29 doubles and 19 home runs with 21 stolen bases in 2024. All while hitting .340, by the way. Then last year in 2025, he had 37 doubles with 26 home runs and 25 stolen bases. By the way, between the 21 and 25 stolen bases, he got caught a combined two times. So, he’s a very smart baseball player. Real quick, I got to go back to Tristan Mackenzie’s old team, the Cleveland Guardians. They picked up Shawn Armstrong. I cannot believe my eyes. They spent a few million dollars. They just gave Shawn Armstrong, one of the most effective relievers in all of baseball last year for the Rangers. He is as good as it gets. They gave him $5.5 million. I like this move. But the Guardians were not done releasing former fan favorites. Big Christmas got dropped the week before Christmas. John Kenzie Noel. He got dropped to make room for a guy that the Guardians are traded for, Justin Brewill. He’s coming from the Jays. He was not good at all last year. But Noel, he just can’t make contact enough. I I love the guy. He had one of my favorite moments ever, that home run off of Luke Weaver. I just don’t think he’s ever gonna make enough contact. So, probably a smart idea. A couple more roster moves. Tyler Austin. Yes, the Tyler Austin who fought Joe Kelly back in the day. He’s back in Major League Baseball after spending a few years overseas raking. He’s 34 years old. He’s going to the Cubs on a $ 1.5 million deal. I’m hoping that we get Frank Schwendell 2.0. Money Taka Murakami is not in MLB yet. He has three, I’m going to say it one more time, three days to sign with an MLB team before his posting window is over. He has until Monday at 5:00 Eastern, 2:00 Pacific. So, where do you think he’s going? Make a prediction. So, that pretty much does it for all of the changing parts and roster moves, but do not go anywhere. I have a few more small stories to talk about. The 2026 WBC is going to be insane. Scooble is now on Team USA with Mason Miller, Joe Ryan, Logan Web, they all joined the roster as well yesterday. This is honestly going to be one of the best rosters, baseball rosters I’ve seen since Legacy Little League screwed us out of the All-Star tournament way back in the day. By the way, that I’m going to say alleged. I just really think that they cheated the zoning laws. But seriously, this is like Jackie Robinson little league type cheating where they were allegedly fudging the zoning rules or something like that and getting all the best players in the city on one district team to have a super team. That’s what Team USA feels like. John Means I feel so bad for the guy. He said that he tosses Achilles on the same day he was about to sign with a new team and have his first opening day healthy in quite some time. He’s coming off I think multiple Tommy Johns. Feel terrible for the guy. I’m praying that he gets right. Achilles are no joke, but modern medicine has gotten better. It’s not a career ender like it used to be. So, John means I’m praying for the guy and his family. That’s just awful timing. The Yankees lost to the Mets again. The Yankees lost the number two international prospect in all of the game. Wandy or no, I should say Wii Azen. I I’m sorry, some of these names are really hard, but he opted out of his verbal deal with the Yankees. He’s going to get almost $4 million in January from the Mets. And he has some of the craziest cartoonish road to the show scouting grades I’ve ever seen, he has a 65 hit tool with 60 power and speed. Huh? That is not someone you want to lose if you’re a Yankees fan. Staying with the Mets, there are new reports that not only did Brandon NMO and Francisco Lindor not see eye to eye, and that kind of resulted in maybe Brandon Nmo getting shipped off, well, a big reason why Marcus Simeon might have gotten shipped off was that he did not see eye to eye with Cory Seager. Again, these are alleged rumors coming out from reporters over the last few days. Maybe it was simply these guys were not getting along with the leaders of the team. And not that they’re evil people or anything like that, but a refresh, it was necessary. At least that’s what it seems like from the perspectives of these reporters. And last but not least, uh if you guys want to find some of the biggest tools, they are not at your local Lowe’s or Home Depot or garage sales. They’re actually found in the Hall of Fame voting ballots. Look at this. I’m Oh, only voting for Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley should have you booted off being able to vote for anything baseball related ever again. These weirdos take pride in the look at me moment. I’m a voter, you’re not. Here’s my terrible, awful ballot, and then here’s a paid link and please subscribe to my whatever. It’s just so frustrating. Get these guys off the voting ballots, please. Anyways, I’m going to cut it right there before I get too upset. Thank you guys for watching. A reminder, it really helps out the channel. Leave a like and subscribe if you haven’t already. I try my best to get these videos out as fast as possible and keep you guys updated. So, if you appreciate it, help me out. Thanks for watching.

In a busy day for MLB transactions on December 19, 2025, the Pittsburgh Pirates acquired power-hitting second baseman Brandon Lowe, outfielder Jake Mangum, and left-handed pitcher Mason Montgomery from the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-team trade, sending right-hander Mike Burrows (a 26-year-old with a mid-90s fastball and elite changeup who posted strong minor/major league numbers last season) to the Houston Astros, while the Rays received Houston’s No. 2 prospect outfielder Jacob Melton and No. 7 prospect Anderson Brito. Separately, the Baltimore Orioles bolstered their rotation by trading for Rays right-hander Shane Baz in exchange for a hefty prospect package including recent draftees outfielder Slater de Brun (high school), catcher Caden Bodine (college), right-hander Michael Forret, outfielder Austin Overn, and a Competitive Balance Round A draft pick, with rumors swirling that outfielder Ranger Suárez could be a further addition for Baltimore. The Kansas City Royals added veteran lefty reliever Matt Strahm (known for chase-inducing elite stuff despite not being a groundball pitcher, a free agent after 2026) from the Phillies for hard-throwing righty Jonathan Bowlan (high whiff rates but control issues, controlled through 2032). Additionally, the San Diego Padres re-signed ace Michael King to a three-year, $75 million extension loaded with opt-outs, while former Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie landed a minor league deal with San Diego, the Guardians inked reliever Shawn Armstrong to a one-year, $5.5 million pact, and international notes included a reported three-year, ~$13 million deal for versatile 29-year-old Sung-mun Song highlighting his newfound power and speed.📝

Burrows’ Changeup is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING 🤮
Keep up the work and can i getba shout out❤
Gotta tip my hat to that hof ballot. Philly fans are just different. Lol😂
TB did a get what you can while you can.
The reds got a relief pitcher.
The Phillies traded for Kyle Backhus from the Dbacks for Avery Owusu-Asiedu. Yes, those are their real last names. Dbacks get Avery, Phillies get Kyle. Kyle seems to be the replacement for Matt. Kyle is a lefty with a 4.62 ERA last year with a 4.24 FIP, he had 22 Ks in 25 IP, and a 2.8 BB/9. Definitely not the best numbers, but maybe the Phillies can fix him, he is 27 years old.
Avery had 33 SB 7 HR 258 AVG with a 366 OBP. Bats R Throws R and he plays the OF. These are all minor league numbers, a promising prospect who's only 22 years old. Looks like a great trade for the Dbacks, but we'll see how well these two pan out.
Imma pirates fan and I’m really happy
Imagine being traded to the Rays to play in front of no fans during home games.
WBC looks very powerful this time around.
Omg fuzzy😊
i wish the cubs would do something
667 Liked on the video.
All I want for Christmas is a Guardians acquisition!
You pronounced Sung-Mon Song pretty well actually; got the correct sound on Mon which is kinda tough. Love to see it!
EVERYONE in the AL East making moves except the Yankees, once again.
That awkward moment when the Pirates make multiple moves and the Yankees just hit the snooze button.
wow pirates do something
Yankees rn:😴😴😴
I love your videos keep up the great work fuzzy
Man after that Seahawks win last night the best way to cap off my weekend would be the Mariners signing someone big
