The Jets signed captain Adam Lowry to a new five-year contract extension, then days later Connor Hellebuyck was sidelined for a projected 4-6 weeks after having knee surgery.
Injuries to Hellebuyck and Neal Pionk opened the door for a pair of rookies to take their first lap on NHL ice.
Elias Salomonsson made his debut on November 26 in Washington, while Thomas Milic followed suit the very next game on November 28 in Carolina.
