Slider still very much in play. >> Gets a hold of this one and this ball is deep into the empty bleachers in left [cheering] and Byron Buckton as the Twins on the board. >> There’s the buck truck. >> Exactly what you’re supposed to do in a hitter’s count. >> He hit it out here. 112 mph, 445 ft just left of center. It would have held been about 25 more miles an hour of wind to knock that thing down. Buckton hammers to left and deep. BE BACK. IT GOES AND GONE. BYRON BUCKTON with a solo home run to left. And the Twins with a one- nothing lead here in the opening inning. A Joe Mau statue day. One of the faces of the franchise today. Byron Buckton. You keep hitting like that. Maybe one day there’ll be a statue of number 25 out there on the plaza as well. But a good sign for Buck driving that ball. Second home run in the last couple of games. Good swing, ready to hit. And the Twins get to play with the lead today. Once again, Durant to Benitendi. The 2-2 in the air to right center field. Buckton on the move to HIS LEFT. BUCKTON WILL DIVE [screaming] AND HE CAUGHT THE BALL. BUCKSTON CAUGHT THE BALL. TWINS WIN. TWINS WIN. AND THE TWINS WIN IT ON A GREAT DEFENSIVE PLAY BY BUCKTON IN RIGHT CENTER. >> SPEECHLESS. Absolutely speechless. This ball is hammered by Ben Tendy and Byron Buckton just didn’t stop. The gap in right center field on the run goes Buckton and Buckton will slide and he got there again. >> Wow. Get up, Buck. Wow. >> Byron Buckton. We’ve seen him dive. That was a sliding catch on the warning track where the cleats found the fence and Buckton’s made some plays at this ballpark. There’s another beauty here at Progressive Field. >> Center field. Buckton coming in. BYRON WILL DIVE AND HE GOT THERE. BYRON BUCKTON A HEAD FIRST DIVING play and the Orioles lead two. Buckston saw this off the bat. Couple of steps in leaving his feet. A diving play from Buck in center. Twins maintain a one-run lead. And now Buckton unloads high and deep to left center. BACK IT GOES. AND THAT IS GONE. TWINS GO BACK TO BACK. KERY now Buckton and the most homer friendly ballpark in baseball living up to the billing and it’s now three nothing. Number 10 for Buckton Kersy with that Spartan helmet he wore it for a second. It busted on the road trip but still wear with pride and Buckton puts it on his 10th and the Twins strike for three again. The 2-2 a swinging a fly ball left center field. Evan Carter going back. He will TURN BACK IT GOES AND GONE. Byron Buckton with A TAPE MEASURE SHOT TO LEFT CENTER FIELD. One swing of the back and the Twins have a 3-2 lead. 479 FT DEMOLISHED BY THE BUCK TRUCK. WOW. >> I mean, what else can you say? Might be the furthest ball I’ve ever seen hitting this park. >> And Buckston launches to left FIELD AND DEEP. BACK IT GOES. SECOND DECK AND GONE. HE DOES IT AGAIN. and he’s homered now in all three games. Back-to-back leadoff home runs and the Twins with that buck truck already a sighting here in Cincinnati. It is one- nothing. Said in the pregame, I never get tired of seeing the buck truck, but he threw him two. >> Now Buckton, can he DO IT AGAIN? YOU BET. THIS ONE CARRYING THIS ONE IS BACK AND THAT IS GONE. BYRON BUCKTON TWO FOR TWO. Two home runs. The Twins go back to back and the helmet that was briefly on Cody’s head, it needs a new noggin. 4-2 Twins here in the second. >> Cody Clemens couldn’t even get finished with his victory. Try through the dugout with the helmet on. >> Three and two on Buckton and the pitch. A swinging a drive into left center and deep. BACK IT GOES AND GONE. LEAD OFF HOME RUN. BYRON BUCKTON. GOOD TO SEE THAT SMILE and a buck truck sighting here in the opening inning. And it’s a 1-1 game. >> His swing is so simple. The way he presets his load and just explodes on the ball. And did he catch that? That was 109 off the bat. He barehanded that thing. Wow. Good for Buck though. This guy has been absolutely incredible. Cory. >> Two-2. Buckton to left. This one sending Collins back to THE WALL. HE’S DONE IT AGAIN. SECOND deck home run for Byron Buckton. Another multi homer game here in the month of June. It is now 94. >> And Buck is just so locked in right now. >> He put that thing into the second deck. Cory Buck’s so simple with the swing. It’s so strong. >> Here’s Byron Buckton. Byron last night scored another run. His 61st run scored of the year. >> Sharply hit to short. Stumbling Connor Falefa finds his footing and Buckton beat it. Never gets old. Little slip here from Connor Falefa. And it shows you how perfect fielders have to be to get Byron Buckton out at first base. 112 off the bat and one little stumble is all it takes. And now Buckton. Now Buckton with a laser to center field. Cruz on the move and he won’t get it. Buckton two. No helmet. Buckton on his way to third base. Triple. No helmet. His sunglasses acting like a beard. And the buck truck is 90 ft away from scoring. A line drive left center field in the gap and that is in play. That one hops over the wall and there’s an automatic double. So Buckton now is a homer shy of the cycle. Instead just a single. He’s four for four. A whole single. >> Yeah. Two down. And here is Buckton. likely his last chance to make some history. He’s never hit for the cycle. The Twins have never had a player hit for the cycle at this ballpark. He’s a home run shy of doing just that. In the air to center field, Cruz going back. Cruz to the wall. LOOKS UP. IT IS GONE. HE’S DONE IT. BYRON BUCKTON. A CYCLE. A SEVENTH INNING HOME RUN TO STRAIGHTAWAY center field. The Twins have their first cycle as a team since 2019. FIRST CYCLE EVER AT TARGET FIELD. AND GUESS WHO? THE ALLSTAR, BYRON BUCKTON. >> A magical moment at Target Field. The first cycle in Target Field history belongs [cheering] to Byron Buckton. >> That deserves a curtain call. >> Fans won’t sit down, nor should they. Five for five. >> And the cycle. >> That’s well hit high and deep to right center field. Back in the gap is Vo. AND THAT IS GONE. And there is a leadoff home run for Byron Buckton. Seventh time he’s done that this season. 16th career leadoff home run. And the Buck Truck alive and well here in Ontario. It’s one- nothing. See Buck fired up. We’re just talking about his struggles >> over these last few weeks. >> Hammer to left field AND HE HAS DONE IT AGAIN. A LINE DRIVE HOME RUN TO LEFT. So on the 8-year anniversary of his three homer game, guess what? Byron Buckton is two for two with two home runs tonight. Have a night, have a day, have a career. >> Yeah, have a season. Have a career. >> Has found a new home in San Diego and flourished as a Padre to right center. BUCKSTON OVER DIVING AND YOU BET HE DID. Tosh Bradley on the mound loves the effort and we have seen that route that play for years and Byron [music] Buckton no panic no problem. A diving pick in right center. Swinging a fly ball into right field and deep. This one carrying towards the DOCK AND THAT IS GONE. OPPOSITE FIELD TWO-RUN homer from Byron Buckton. And the Twins answer back. It’s three to one. His 28th and that ties a single season careerhigh. >> Pavetta provided all the power. Byron Bucks just had to go out there and get it. >> That’s his first homer this season. Perk. Truly the other way. >> Truly to right field this season. >> Might have been because of the stride. >> Buckton swinging a high-fly ball into left field and deep sending Gavin Sheets to the WALL AND THAT IS GONE. [cheering] A new careerh high for Byron Buckston. His 29th home run and Minnesota takes a two nothing lead. >> Well, that as I mentioned, Kyle Hart doesn’t throw hard, right? And that pitch just kind of rolls up there. 85. Now, that’s the ninth home run for Kyle Hart that he has surrendered in 32 plus innings. >> Well, hit to center field. Hit Wells, sending Helman back TO THE WALL. THAT IS GONE. AND BYRON Buckton with a leadoff home run. And the Twins strike quickly and a Texas buck truck sighting one batter in. It is one- nothing Twins. >> Another slider. So backto-back sliders to start the game. Buck got extended on that. [cheering] >> Sounded good coming off this ballpark. You never know. It plays big out there in center. >> Tyler Mi has not allowed a home run at home this season. We’ll see if Buckton and the Twins can change that here today. And the opening pitch is swung out and skyed to left center field deep TOWARDS THE BULLPEN AND GONE. AND HE’S DONE IT AGAIN. BYRON BUCKTON BACKTO BACK DAYS WITH LEADOFF home runs. And the Twins again strike quickly. It is one- nothing in Texas. Right on Q. 33 home runs this season. And he’s at 10 leadoff home runs this year. So the 89 hitters find their way on. And now Buckton one for three. Nobody out. Swinging a fly ball into left center field. Helman on the move. HE WILL TURN AND THAT IS GONE. >> SECOND HOMER TODAY FROM BYRON BUCKTON. This one comes with two men on base. An eighth inning three-run homer. And Buckton leads the Rangers 4 nothing. >> Just never stops playing. Loves to play the game. >> And Buckton now 34 homers. He’s knocked in 82 runs and his fourth multih homer game this season.
