THE BIGGEST COMEBACK IN SHARKS HISTORY!

I want you to put the word out there that we back up. Understand me? We back up. >> All right, boys and boys. >> We are back up indeed cuz holy hell. That game was absolutely nuts. Welcome back to the channel, Sharks fans, hockey fans. This is pretty much my semi-instant reaction. I’ve had some time to calm down. My heart levels, blood pressure, everything is back to normal. I hope it is for you, too. Randy Han, I hope that man has some lossenes, some hot tea with honey or whatever, cuz that man lost his voice at the end of the game. What a freaking game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Sharks pull off a massive comeback win. Beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 6 to5 in OT. The Sharks were down 5 to one in the third period. And I’m going to be completely honest, I thought the game was over. I’ve seen this story way too many times. Well, last year I saw the story way too many times to think 5 to one against Sydney Crosby and the Penguins in their own barn. Third period, Will Smith gets injured, Philip Kersev gets injured, both of Mlin Celabbrini’s wingers get injured. That’s another thing. And that’s it. I wrote them off. I’m like, you know what? I’m going to have the game on, but I also have two TVs in my living room. So, I’m focused on TVB while the Sharks game is playing on TVA. And I’m doing this and slowly I’m just tunnel vision. I am fully locked in. once they had that. Was it the second goal or third goal? I can’t remember which one it was. But man, that was freaking beautiful. We’re going to talk about the game a little bit more in detail and I’m going to talk more about this road trip because I know I’ve been gone for a couple days. Been spending some time with my wife. That’s what we do when we’re in marriages. We hang out with our loved ones. Uh and that will be in a separate video. That’s not going to be this video. We’re going to talk about this game today because this game was an absolute freaking banger. So, let’s jump over to the face or the the webcam, I guess. Shark rally from four in the third period to top Penguins in overtime. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched Randy Hans call after the game. It’s been a lot. It’s been a lot. [laughter] Uh all one of the alltime calls. I mean, I know it’s just a regular season game and realistically the Sharks aren’t super good, but they’re showing life [music] and that’s something we’ve wanted for the last couple years and I’m I’m happy to see it. Uh, first period, first period it was it was pretty pretty even kill, even kill. Sharks, pens, somewhat even in shots. Not going to harp on that too much. It was a second period that you can see right there. What is it? 6 to 22 or 6 to 20. The Sharks were getting smoked in shots. The Sharks came out after their last game against Toronto. Uh playing better. Like the jump was was better for sure in the first period. I was like, “Okay, it looks like it’s gonna be competitive.” They weren’t shooting [music] well they they were shooting a lot more than they were in Philadelphia. give them that. But something happened in the second period where the Pens were just like, “Time to wake up. We still have Sydney Crosby. They have a good goalender. They have good defense. They can roll three, four lines pretty consistently.” And [music] it just was like downhill. Just downhill for the Sharks. Uh yeah, it was it was bad. Uh, as far as shots go, in the third period, they wake up Sharks a outshoot the Pens 18 to 10. Uh, two six on five goals uh with the goalie pulled. [music] That was dope. Uh, then obviously overtime. It only took one shot for us to win the game. But man, I I’m I’m still hyping. I hope you guys are too. Looking at the stats of the overall game again, the Sharks put up some shots 32, but to Pittsburgh’s 43. Yeah, you can’t have Ascarov facing that many shots in a game. Uh faceoffs, surprisingly, we did pretty well. Mac was, if you were watching the faceoffs [music] as they were happening, Mack going up against their centers was just straight out dominating. I don’t know his stats right off the top. I I’m going to look that up post this video, but it was sticking out to me very clearly that Mac was boom laser focused in on faceoffs and it showed tonight. It wasn’t just Mac. Uh but overall, I am I stoked on the performance from the centers tonight. Uh power play. Obviously, our power play, man, this road trip has been brutal to our power play. I think we’re like 1 for this is 1 for four. I think Randy said we were 1 for 11 at that point time. So we’re probably like 1 for 15 or 1 for 16 on this road trip. Brutal. Absolutely brutal. That’s going to be a topic for my next video. The one after this tomorrow morning, whatever. And you see this is it’s coming out after this one. Uh hits not overall physical. It was physical in terms of Yeah. Philip Kersev went down. He went out I think went in the second period and then Will Smith went down late in the third period which it looks like probably I don’t want to knock on wood it looked like maybe a collar bone or a shoulder injury maybe a shoulder separation I don’t know I don’t know I’m knocking on wood hopefully it’s nothing too bad but again I’m being realistic I’m expecting Will Smith to miss some time and that’s okay I mean it sucks but that’s just the reality of living in the not living but but playing in the NHL injuries are going to happen and you just as a fan we just got to deal with it. Roll with the punches. Uh block shots, takeaways, giveaways, whatever. I don’t care. Uh what I do care about and I know you guys care about Tyler Safoy got on the board early for the Sharks. I think it’s what backtoback games. I think he had a goal. No, I’m sorry. Did he have a back? I forget. I don’t remember. Excuse me. But he finally got on the board. I’ve said this prior to the road trip, but I’m going to judge Tower [music] Tower to overall performance on this team after this road trip. Has it improved? Has it declined? That’s the next video, but I’ll give you a hint. It’s a little bit better, but overall, not super stoked. Uh Sydney Crosby gets on the board. We know that. Power play. Sydney Crosby 19 goals. Uh Sydney Crosby, man. What else can you say about him? Uh Rucker McGroy’s shot in the second period. What a freaking missile, man. What and placement, too. That was I mean, as a hockey fan, you got to appreciate that one. Uh Kevin Hayes. Yeah. And then uh Brian [music] Rust and then Anthony Manthis. Power play again. Power play goals for these guys are PK. Nick Ley on the PK. I’m over that 150%. Get them off. Call up Vinnie Day Har. I don’t care. get him off the damn roster. He does not for me does not deserve to be playing right now. Uh and then John Clingberg third period power play goal. Want to talk about John Clingberg as well. William Mcklin Mliny Tower to Foley his second in the game. And then John Cleberg his second in the game. >> [sighs] >> I mean, I go down each and every single goal, but I’m not trying to make this video any longer than what it was. But the overall consensus from me and I know from you guys as Sharks fans is where what how do we get this granted everything up until late in the game was like, let’s just get this game over with. Let’s head back to San Jose. Let’s rest up. Let’s hopeully everyone’s okay. But the urgency this when this team plays with urgency, it is like night and day difference. When Mac stood up for Will after he got knocked out of the game, a light switch must have went off in this kid’s head and was like, “You’re going to hurt my boy. You’re going to hurt my homie, my linemate. Not just him, but my other linemate.” Nah. No, not against Cydney Crosby, his idol. I I got to I got to imagine in his mind he wants to beat I I got to imagine in all the team’s mind they wanted to beat Sid, but for the younger guys like like Will and for uh Mlin, I’m pretty sure they’re like we got to beat Sydney on his own ice. And just the spark that Will’s injury gave Mlin a whole completely different player after that injury. [music] That was insane. Let’s get out of this. I’m telling you, man. Uh this game was everything emotionally that I wanted from a hockey game. I would have loved to see the urgencies spark a lot earlier in the game. Uh but the Sharks last two games have shown some sense of identity. The no quit attitude, the no quit energy, the minutiae, whatever you want to call it. It’s start, we’re starting to see what this team is. And Mlin’s reaction after Will went down, not just his physical reaction, but his overall game reaction. I know we’re going to wait until next year to give him the captaincy. But right, that right there was like give the kid the seed tomorrow and let the let him lead again. I know it’s probably not going to happen so soon. I hope they don’t do it so soon. like just save it for next year. That that’s going to that’s going to set the season on fire if they do that. But this was an amazing an amazing game. Like emotionally I’m just drained. I I I got to imagine you guys are too. Uh I I don’t really know what else to say other than John Clingberg. I don’t I don’t know how many goals. I think that’s like four goals in the last on on this road trip. He’s playing better. I know we’ve talked about him in my other videos. How are we feeling? How are we feeling about John Clingberg right now playing for the Sharks? Yeah, I know. I It’s It could just be a blimp on the radar, but if he plays this way, sign me up. It’s okay, man. Ride out the year. Be some trade bait. That’s cool with me. But yeah, what a freaking game, man. That’s it, boys. Sharks come back. Like I said, I’m just ecstatic. I I’m I’m I’m thinking about everything I’m going to say in the next video when I wrap up this road trip completely. Uh but this was a perfect end to this road trip. I know we didn’t get the dubs and the performances we wanted to see out of every single game, but baby steps and right now we’re kind of skipping steps. We’re kind of doing two steps at a time, two steps forward, one back sometimes. And if we keep doing it that way, it’s going to be a lot of frustration on our end, but the team’s going to start going in the right direction a little bit more consistently, and that’s what we all want. So that’s it. I will catch you guys in the next one, which will probably be tomorrow morning. Peace out, homies.

What. A. Comeback.

The San Jose Sharks stormed back from a 5–1 third-period deficit to stun the Penguins 6–5 in overtime at PPG Paints Arena. John Klingberg scored the game-winner—his second of the night—off a beautiful setup from Macklin Celebrini, who finished with a goal and two assists.

Tyler Toffoli also had a massive night with two goals and two assists, while William Eklund and Collin Graf chipped in with multi-point games. San Jose scored five straight goals, including two with the goalie pulled, to tie it up in the final minutes and steal it in OT.

Pittsburgh had goals from Crosby, Rust, and Mantha, but couldn’t close it out. That’s now three blown third-period leads in four games for the Pens—who are spiraling despite strong starts.

This game will go down as one of the biggest comebacks in Sharks history.

Did San Jose just prove something tonight—or did Pittsburgh just fall apart again? Let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. Now I know why we won. Two of our players go down cuz the pens think they can outmuscle and hurt us? Thats how we beat Vegas in that comeback 1st round of the playoffs.

Same scenario. But with some blood cuz Vegas are misfits for a reason!! Let that be a lessen to the other teams out there. If you hurt our players, we will hurt you on the scoreboard!!

That didn't disappoint in that game. I didnt even know players got injured until I saw the postgame and some footage of Smith getting smacked in the boards!!

You can't do this, without consequences!! And surely enough, we made the pens pay for their mistake to injure our players!!!

When you piss off the Sharks. We can be down 6-0 shit. We will come back and whoop ya!!!😂😂😂😂

  2. We always think Klingberg is slow. But this is a different player now. Coming back from injury. He's more physical, and speeding the net and taking more shots then I ever seen him do before. I feel he wants to earn his spot here next season being on a one year deal. Its almost never guaranteed he will stay. Cuz lots will be on the trade block and he will be one of them, like Granlund, if he keeps playing like this!!! Im satisfied with him as of now.
