I missed what was said but the hit Hall made was a direct response to Slavin. I think the panthers are totally in the Canes heads at this point. Game should have never went in to over time. Jarvy should have never gotten hurt. Rod should have challenged the Marchand goal. Svech should have taken the open net shot. Lots of should’ves.
All I hope for is Jarvy injury not long term and beat the shit outta the panthers physically next week.

Your best player and heartbeat of the locker room gets tripped and taken out of the game and not a single person did anything to Rodrigues.
Every year we hear this team say how they need to stick up for each other and every year they fail to answer the bell. It’s sickening.
Bring up Smith and give him a chance to take care of the Panthers. I’m hoping that since an injury happened we can call up an emergency player during the holiday freeze.

This team isn’t built for that brand of hockey.
This is the FLA Panthers WITHOUT some of their more prominent agitators. It’s the same reason that Carolina doesn’t play as well against teams like Ottawa.
However, as much as I don’t like them, you could argue that Florida has just the right blend of talent and hateful, edgy angst, along with chirpy “straddle the line” bullshit, to their game.
Unless Carolina intends to drop their talent ceiling and add more AJ Greer types, then I don’t see this problem going away.
Players like the Tkachuk brothers are rare. Honestly, Carolina could use about 3 of them. In some universe where Carolina traded for Brady Tkachuk, they would be scaring the rest of the league.

He’s a virtuous man and a hell of a coach but he wants his players to win these games the “right” way and that’s just delusional at this point. The current Panthers (even without Ekblad, Tkachuk, and Barkov), and the Bruins of a few years ago when Chara and Marchand were still there, are perfect examples of how a team plays dirty as hell and physical as hell and we never have enough spine to stand up and hit them in the mouth first. Unless RBA and Gleason change their mentality and approach to how this team treats games like this, we’re gonna keep playing the “right” way until we get bounced out of the playoffs by another gritty dirty team, like clockwork
I agree with his premise but to say “sure the officials missed some calls but that’s gonna happen” when the main penalty was a trip that was that egregious, taking out our main offensive and shootout threat, is reductive and is turning a blind-eye to a clear problem. **Reffing has been inconsistent as fuck**. Game to game. Period to period. Team to team.

Legal hits and keeping our head down is what we have to do against the Panthers. Drop the gloves against the other 30 teams, where penalties are far more likely to get called evenly.

I mean a free goal, they kinda stole one of ours some could argue, just a bunch of dumb shit threw this game away, and of course the canes themselves had a part to play in it but nothing would have snowballed without marchy’s first goal
I really want to see Nikishin lay out some of these rats on the rematch and put some fear into them
