Oilers vs. Wild | NHL Highlights | December 20, 2025
Then the other net, Picard. Edmonton’s net’s been
a struggle. They just traded for Jarry. Here’s Johansson in for the first shot of the game. And
it’s picked out by Pickard. And Jarry got hurt. So here comes Bard. He’s played in 11 games.
Eight of those games he’s given up four or more goals. Anthony. He’s just really struggled
to find any type of confidence in the net. Wild get a defensive shift as Hartman drops
it back to Zukarelloo. Capri off Zukarelloo and off the post. Yeah, this one it’s little
kick out here from Hartman on a good middle drive and then given goal. Zukarelloo Capri off
Bousard. Plays it back across the other way. Wild nearly had too many men on the ice. Nan Hopkins
on the loose puck here. Forced to the outside by Hughes. Poked away and it’s a break away from
Baldi. Baldi in to the back hand. He scores. How good he’s been. And Zack Hol just can’t get
that clear down low. Baldi with a good stick. It’s backto-back shifts where he’s won stick
battles and he gets it one-on-one with Bquard. Little fake frees the goalender. Get him down.
Bring it to the backand. And patience as Bard tries to stick the pad out there. You can’t get
it to the post. Middleton pitches from the point. Sturm got it into the circle. Middleton fires.
Save on the first shot of the rebound. Goes wide. Zukarella intercepts along the boards to Hartman
in the slot. He tried to go to Capriov and it hit a stick. He’s a man possessed right now. So yeah,
you get Broaddin back, but I think it’s going to be committee cuz McDavid’s going to have his
moments this afternoon. And comes through center into the Minnesota zone. A shot on a save by Gust
and certainly in the West right now, but in the NHL, you need some high-end talent and both groups
have it. Edmonton has gone to the West final each of the last two seasons. Oilers with back-to- back
trips to the Stanley Cup finals. Favor down the slot. A backhander and a save by Pickard. Watch
this. Frederick just goes out to his guy. Doesn’t know his responsibility. Flies by F. Oh, wait.
This is my guy. F like I’ll take that ice and then pretty moved to the backand and Picker kind
of spinning around in his crease like a top. But fortunately for him and the Oilers, the the seems
like he’s found the the right mental space and even since the Hughes trade, just more confidence
and and more of a willingness to simple play by Ly from Zukarella at understanding the game,
kind of buying into a system. Middleton to Hart, but a shot and a kick save by Pickard. back home
with a short-handed chance. A backhander right on and Gustoson makes the save. The hold at the line
and the Wild gets set up in the offensive zone. Baldi with it. Back up high. It’s Hughes. Now
Zukarelloo. Back to Hughes. Baldi fire. Scores. Second of the night. And a power
play goal has Minnesota up by two. See how Edmonton responds, but this a double
minor and well get it early in the first one. So there’s some time Edmonton’s goalending is
is just flat out struggled and you’ve got to give something up on the PK to give up that weak
side shot one-time but Baldi absolutely labels this one top shelf over the blocker. Johansson
to Spurgeon Favor back to Spurgeon now to Favor. A drive tipped out front. Saved by Pickard. Faber
again. Forced to the corner. He goes up high for Hughes. Power play about to expire. Baldi down
low. Capri fires off the shoulder of Pickerton wide. Riceidle deflects it ahead. Minnesota one
for two on that four-minute power play. Ericson centers. Bouncing puck knocked down by Baldi.
Controlled by Bousard and Dryidle gives to McDavid into Minnesota territory. Forced to the outside
by Erikson. Nurse walks to the middle. McDavid a shot deflected dry side on it in the corner. Out
to Bousard. Bousard looking fires. They score. Bousard shot tipped by Man Japani on the way
and the Oilers cut the Minnesota lead in half. Turn it up. Amazing things can happen.
And this is just dry side McDavid. Enzy up on the ice together. Bashard drags the
middle and pan gets a stick free out in front. Redirects it up over the shoulder.
But Edmonton wasn’t just going to go away. They get their big guys on the ice. I think
they’ve had good communication. Solid play. Loose puck. Sturm with a chance. Picker.
Todd Coulson cut off. Plays it in behind. Dry Cidle out to the line. Bousard winds,
fires, pad save. Gustoson. Bousard has a heavy shot. And Dry Cidle. McDavid like
to use him when they can. Here’s Bousard again. Slides it through for Heyman. Back
to Bousard. And a pass saved by Gustoson. Wild game in the zone. A shot got through.
Saved by Pickard and the rebound picked up by Nan Hopkins. McDavid in with speed
working against Favor. Got the shot away and a deflection of the netting out of
play. I’ll just decide to score goals. And a chance for Capriov. He tries to throw it off
of Pickard. 22 power play points already for Dry Cidle this year. Only McDavid has more. Dry
Cidle tried to force one across to Newton Hopkins. Sturm got it out to the line but not out of the
zone. McDavid to Dry Cidle. Back for McDavid. Spurgeon got a stick on it. He couldn’t clear.
Dryidle to McDavid. Back to Dryidle. Kick save. Gustoson. Rebound. It’s loose on the line and
eventually they score. Spurgeon got a piece of it. McDavid had one extra whack and it looks like
he was able to knock it across the line to tie the game on the power play. Well, this plays
made on the give and goal between McDavid and Dry Cidle after. Here’s the give and goal.
It’s dry. McDavid then backand for McDavid to Dry Cidle. Five hole and it’s sitting there
on the post. Boy, it just finds McDavid’s tape on the back door. He sticks with the play. You
can’t see it through the massive bodies there, but as Spurgeon looks down to here, he
has a power play goal to tie the game. Gust with a kick save. Lively rebound. Yanmar
dumped it down into the Minnesota zone. Hughes deflects but not out of the zone. Residle
holds. Intercepted by Hughes. He goes cross ice for Zukarelloo to Hartman. Hartman drops
to Middleton. Back to Hartman. He scores. What a play. And Minnesota’s back in front by one.
32. Welcome back to the lineup. Jake Middleton, but nice passing through the neutral
zone. Kind of spread Edmonton out and Ryan Hartman cut through the middle.
leaves it for Middleton and he goes under the triangle of Emerson right onto the
tape of Hartman and redirection in the net. Bolting through neutral ice now McDavid
back in McDavid to the line for Echol back to McDavid. His shot got through.
or pad stopped by Gustoson. Spurge in tandem against McDavid’s line to
open the period. Perhaps trying to split it up. Bousard with a shot.
Stick save. Gustoson. Bousard with it. Second time the Wild have been short in
this game. Both times it’s been one of their normal killing defenseman in the box.
far side threw a mass of bodies right off the post and the Wild very fortunate that didn’t
tear him in off the back of Gustin and in but against the Wild this year they are now a
plus one with the two opportunities today backhand shot deflected by Pod Coulson Gustson hangs on a lot of Edmonton’s
problems it between the pipes McDavid centered for Nan Hopkins. He was cut
off at the last second by Favor. Hughes throws it out to center. Eriksonette tried to go cross
ice to Baldi. Intercepted by Bousard. His drop pass off target and the Wild have numbers
the other way. Johansson moving in across for Erikson. He fired wide. Juel Erikson
just misses. Rebound held by Middleton to Henstrosza off the wall. Uraichek down from
the point takes a hit from Stillman. Got it to Felo at the side of the net and Pickard
able to hold his ground and cover. Plays it across to Terasinko. Terasenko cuts through
the middle to Broaddin. Broaddin shot tipped out front. Saved by Pickard. Rebound winds up
in behind the net. But here he fires in a pad. Saved by Gustoson. They get their face off win.
Run their play. Terasenko with a takeaway and a shot right off. Saved by Pickers. Rebound.
They score. Terasenko. And it’s 42 Minnesota. Did a great job. Hey, there’s the chance
from Edmonton. And then Wildia going the other way on the rebound. Terasenko kind of
with an errant dump, but he does a good job winning that stick battle rebound, but he
doesn’t go for escape. Reattacks the net. The puck finds him in the paint. Feeds
dry. Dryidle fires. Deflected. Gustoson down. Puck is still loose off the end wall.
Johansson fires at the empty net. Bousard knocked it down. Terraenko in. He hands it
off to Ster for the clincher. 52 Minnesota the cage. So Bashard has to knock
it down. And Terraeno collects

Wow!
That's how it's played. 😅
Tarasenko could potentially be on the 3 nhl stars of the week
Well, the Wild’s best 6th man is still Bouchard.
1st goal: Bouchard, zero defensive effort.
3rd goal: Stillman, infected by Bouchard’s indifference, pure reactive viewer mode.
4th goal: Bouchard, defensive cosplay, as usual.
We have restored the 7 Game Winning Streak
The Longest Win Streak This Year November 29
Game Series Since November 1 2025 19-3-2
Holy…The Wilds are firing on all cylinders now. Tarasenko finding his flow lately has been a welcome addition to the team!
Yeah ever since Hughes went there, I honestly don't think Minny can lose a game anymore lol.
Are the Minnesota Wild becoming rock stars this season, or is it just me?
for a moment, I thought I clicked on a "First period highlights" video
Миннесота превращается в элитный клуб НХЛ… Так раздеть Мазуту, дорогого стоит… Не без участия российских парней, что особенно приятно…Макдевид какой-то бледный, не тянет роль лидера
Edmonton realizing your defense is the issue
Pickard stinks
Тарасенко включил режим Терминатора, в каждом матче забивает!!! В пустые он должен был забивать!
You dumb Picard… Go to bed. never learned anything at all.
I feel a change in the wind, says I
Excellent job, guys! Go WILD! That's what we all have been waiting for 😊 taking my kids to the game tomorrow 💪 wish you all the best!
Boldy was a stud today too!!!
Oilers would have lost if Jarry or Skinner was in net anyway
Boldy and the Wild🔥🔥🔥 enough said 🏒 Oilers no easy Task😏
Minny, you guys got a stud when you traded away 4 first rounders for Huggy. When he learns the systems, learns to read off the players you’re gonna see why G traded away so much for him. You haven’t seen anything yet! Miss you Huggy, rock it in Minnesota pal…
i am so happy to see that hughes is fitting in well on the wild he looks so happy as well
My goodness, Hughes has a huge influence on play. His puck handling is superb, and his passing… perfect spot and speed for the first pp goal, great outlet pass later, turned into a score… And his presence behind the action seems to give everybody else more confidence to attack, not worried if a puck bounces the other way, because Hughes is back there, prowling like a big cat.
Who is the commentary? That are terrible
Statement game tomorrow. Let’s go .
can somebody else score for the oilers please
Wild almost at full strength. Welcome back Middleton and Zucc
Classy classy move by Vladi to give the ENG to Sturm. This team has good vibes and is rolling!!!
Tarasenko killing it lately. what a stand up guy to pass it to sturm
That Middleton pass looked so weird like a faint
Driastl crying in penalty box cost them. Go cuddle with McQueen
Болди..Тарасенко…а где Капризов то?!
oilers are chasing in first period pick your man up
4 wild back i oiler with shot on goal oilers suck so far
keep nurse on the bench
Молодцы дикари
Classy pass by Vlad at the end there
The Wild are going on a two month run a wild fan can’t really fathom.
third period no back checking brutality at its best oilers they really need to start skating instead of gliding around
I thought this game only had a 1st period
Literally the only piece that hurt to lose was zev. Olm a border line 3rd/4th. Rossi is alright but not a top 6 forward, and the 2026 first will be mid to late 20's. Wild netted a legitimate C on the chest and everything that means superstar defenseman that can absolutely run the show. We have the space and we need to keep the guy happy this year and lock him up the next 7 years.
We have 2 top goaltenders in the league at 26 and 21ish? years old. A top 5 forward in his prime paid up. Absolute robbery on a top 15 player in the league who is 23/24 years old. Depth from top to bottom and an already elite 22 year old defensemen with depth and experience top to bottom on our d core.
This team hasn't even touched their ceiling yet lol
PBP guy is such a Homer. Wild score, it's like they just won the cup. Oilers score… not a big deal.
