Paul Maurice, Panthers Postgame: Florida Gives Up 4 Straight Goal, Blues End Florida Winning Streak

Coach, what’s your assessment of how that went unfolded? >> It was fairly similar to the game that we played in Colorado. I think uh um it flat out as hard as we could for as long as we could and there wouldn’t be a part of our game that first two power plays were good, but not there wasn’t a part of a game that we could excel at. So, um >> yeah, won’t watch it again. Won’t talk about again. >> How much define that rally when you’re down on the second half back to back, would you say? Well, the back tobacks are not a problem. Um, everybody plays them, especially the ones that are at home. It’s what stacks up around it and how hard you have to run the top. And in the situation we I got a lot of miles on my [snorts] top two lines in my top 4 D. So, um, yeah, you get a day and a half off at home to recover. We expect to be real good in in Carolina. Um, we’ve been really good. I think our last tough one was in Colorado. I understood that one. And then prior to that, it was probably Toronto and December 1st. So, I like where we’re playing. I like the way we played. It didn’t I’m not even going to tell you I didn’t like the way we played tonight. I understood it. When when we’re behind it as a group, then then that’s it. >> Is it simple to say? Just a little bit out of gas after the the the the hard push you had to make last night. >> Oh, I don’t I don’t think it was the push last night. I mean, I thought we played probably our best hockey in the first period last night. I think we were good straight through that game. Um, yeah, there’s a few guys that probably ran their minutes up a little bit, but that’s that it’s it’s not one game. It’s it’s cumulative, right? We don’t have a history of long runs because we play real hard for as long as we can. Then we have a game like we had tonight. >> Can momentum kind of change there a little bit with that late goal by >> we need we need to get into the third at twos and then we can be real smart about how we’re playing. It was a little bit of that was a tough break. So that’s it. >> Another goal for Ager. How important has it been just not with with the goals, but just also emotionally filling in this season? >> I missed the front half of that. >> AJ G. Another goal was his importance kind of stepping up, filling a lot of holes. >> Well, he’s played in the top nine for his first time his career. I think what we game 35 he’s exceeded his career total for. So he’s vastly improved player from training camp of last year. And um you know, he’s a big man that moves well and he can shoot the puck a little bit. So, we think if he can continue to go, and I I don’t think we’re going to get that many guys back in any um anytime soon. So, he’s going to get an opportunity to kind of show what he can do in a in a non fourthline role. I won’t see a opiate
