New York uh had to turn around today and return to Minneapolis because of mechanical issues. Minnesota scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday against the Giants in East Rutherford, New Jersey. A statement from the team shortly after depatting. Uh the team plane experienced mechanical issues that required a return to Minneapolis St. Paul airport. Uh the team will board a second plane momentarily and is now expected to arrive at New York International Airport later tonight. So the old me would have had jokes here. You know, second plane playing the Giants. We’re we’re trying to be better in 2026. So there we go. But of course the memes are Fast and Furious. just of course Delta, the official airline of the Minnesota Vikings right now. Just like I don’t know. I don’t know, man. Yeah. Continue. Uh Pelisero from the Vikings. We’re currently awaiting the arrival of a second plane and intend still intended to pad tonight. Well, yeah. What are you going to do? Take the Greyhound. Actually, I would take JJ McCarthy off a Greyhound taking on the New York Football Giants tomorrow. Woo. That’s right, man. A very late arrival coming ahead of Sunday’s game against the Giants. and Ben Leieber uh you know team sideline reporter for the radio former Viking lambbacker can’t get to New York when the landing gear hatch doesn’t close which the the fact that they they got to it looks like Illinois with the landing gear gear hatch open kind of says a lot. Yeah, that was but also it’s kind of funny they always talk about New York. You you never leave New Jersey when you play the Giants or the Jets. And yes, this comes nine years almost to the day of the Vikings sliding off the runway in in Apple adjacent, which uh did the Packers uh ice the the runway? Packers fans don’t know. Don’t know. Uh but the Vikings were stuck on the tarmac in Apple adjacent and they didn’t get to team hotel till like 3:00 4 in the morning. Uh went out and lost 38-2 uh in the season that ended 8-8. That start they started off 5-0 by the way. But yeah, uh but o overall hopefully just everything works out, everyone’s safe, and yes, the memes are there. And it’s about a three-hour flight from uh MSP to uh Newark. Uh so also Eastern time zone. So the fact that the Vikings probably get there like, you know, 10:30, 11:00, midnight, right? So skip, you know, skip team meal for the evening. Uh just everyone get to bed, skip walkthrough at the hotel ballroom, everything’s going to be all right. No excuses for Sunday. Just go and kick the Giants ass. Just another thing with this damn team. I swear we cannot have a normal game. We cannot have a normal team. We cannot have a normal season.
