But, let’s get to this one between the Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors. the Toronto Raptors at the time this video is being recorded battling the Boston Celtics in the first half of their backto back while the uh the Brooklyn Nets ready and rested for this one at 7-19 on the year 12 and 14 against the number this season after ending up with a 10695 loss the hands of the Miami Heat in their last matchup and Brooklyn has now alternated wins and losses in six straight but they’ve gone 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall so we’re starting to see the Brooklyn Nets be a lot more competitive and there’s also you know picking up some wins in spots where you kind of hope that they would. And, you know, give the Brooklyn Nets some credit. I mean, this is a Brooklyn team that historically over the years has been profitable as an underdog. Um, you know, maybe not as much, you know, this season. I mean, they’ve still had trouble covering the point spread, but I mean, when you look at the Brooklyn Nets, basically, I would say over the last what, three seasons, two seasons as a home underdog, you know, Brooklyn 2839 and three. So, historically haven’t been great, but just as an underdog overall, this has been a Brooklyn team that finds ways to be competitive. You know, they find ways to, you know, keep themselves in games and, you know, they especially when they’re getting decent numbers, you know, decent amounts of points here. Now, they aren’t catching the biggest number here against the uh against the Toronto Raptors. You know, the Brooklyn Nets only getting four and a half here, but this is a Toronto team that, you know, on the second half of a backto-back has not been overly profitable this season. just one and four against the spread are the Toronto Raptors when they’re on no rest this season and when they’re at a rest disadvantage. You know, the Raptors just haven’t been able to compete as well. They’re one and four against the spread there as well. Brooklyn, on the other hand, when they have a rest advantage over their opponent, you know, they haven’t necessarily made the most of it. They’re one and three against the spread. However, I said, you look at some of the recent results for the uh for the Brooklyn Nets. It’s a team that, you know, went toe-to-toe with Miami, snuck in the back door there. They did lose on the road at at Dallas, but you know, they they beat Milwaukee and New Orleans at home. Their three road wins have actually come in their last uh five games at home. So, you know, I’m going to give Brooklyn some credit here. Now, the Toronto Raptors, of course, they’re going to be favored here. They’re coming off of, you know, solid back-to-back road performances against Miami and Milwaukee. You know, they’re still taking on one of the worst teams in the NBA from a record standpoint. But I still think that the loss of RJ Barrett in the absence of RJ Barrett is just doing, you know, no service to this Toronto Raptors team. And obviously, you know, when he’s been one of their best offensive players this season, that’s kind of maybe to be expected. But, you know, we’ve still seen that, you know, teams can give Toronto all sorts of fits. And, you know, Yaka Purle was out of the lineup as well for Toronto against Boston. And now when you look at the Brooklyn Nets in this game, I mean, you know, they’ve had Michael Porter Jr. step up. They’ve, you know, had a lot of solid pieces that have, you know, sort of taken the next step in their, you know, development. And I think this is a game where the Nets will be competitive. Like I said, I think there’s something here for the Raptors. You know, struggling on the second half of backtoback this season. We’re going to have to see how the result is. This could be a bit of a letown spot if they beat the Boston Celtics. and I’ll try to update that for you on Sunday’s morning show.
