Nets were off last night, but some relevant tank games took place.
NOLA beat Indiana. Zion played well – that could be notable going forward.
Washington beat Memphis (!)
The Clippers beat the Lakers.
A couple near misses as well, with Utah falling just short to Orlando in OT and Sacramento losing to Portland by 5. Too bad.
Maybe this is a reminder the tank option isn't as hopeless as some fear? Just thought I'd share in case it provokes some conversation on a Sunday morning.

Pels and Clips don’t own their picks so have no incentive to tank. Pacers are missing Hali but will go on a couple decent runs I’d imagine.
Utah needs to give up their pick to OKC if it isn’t in the top 8, surprisingly Lauri hasn’t been traded yet.
I think Nawlins is on the rise and will be the 10th-8th seed in the west so will feature in the play-in and could make the playoffs. There is a lot of talent on the Pelicans roster.
I expect the Jazz will start falling as they look to protect their first round pick. They need to finish with the third or fourth worst record to keep their pick if the most unlikely situation occurs at the draft lottery which would be four teams with better records all jumping into the top 4.
Not sure how much better Indiana will get this season.
I don’t want the Pacers or the Clippers (Thunder) getting a top 4 pick.
Talent needs to be distributed throughout the NBA.
Honestly the Thunder getting a top 4 pick would be terrible for the NBA when you also consider their previous two draft picks were considered excellent prospects and Topic and Thomas Sorber are yet to play in the NBA.
As long as the Nets get a top 3 pick I’m okay with any of the three selections.
Just want top 3 so we can stop the tank after this year. Then go all in on mid level dudes next year and get that OG Nets magic back
Only speaking for myself: it’s not so much that I want the team to tank as much as I pray to the NBA Gods for a top 3 pick. The difference is that I want the team to play hard and develop the rooks but I also really, really want those lottery balls to fall our way the way they shockingly have fallen the past two lotteries.
So yeah, each loss increases our odds but also, it’s entirely up to chance and I’d prefer the team to not be in the playoffs to have that chance.
I think we’ll be lucky to land in the Top 4 when it’s all said and done.
The Jazz have Top 8 protections on their pick. They will make sure they keep the pick, and in order to do so, they will need to get into the bottom 4.
The Clippers are old, and they just lost their starting center last night with an ankle injury. He will be out for a few weeks.
The Kings’ roster just doesn’t fit
The Pels are getting healthy and trending up. I love that for them.
We’ll be lucky to land 6. Purgatory forever baby
We need western conference team to throw games vs the clippers so the thunder don’t get another top 5 pick
Pelicans on a 4-game winning streak!
If okc gets a higher pick than us i will never forgive steve ballmer
Nets will be bottom 3 by Jan 1st
Getting closer and closer
