  1. Honestly a really fun core on the position player side now. Last time they signed a big named ifa at first it worked way better than anyone could’ve imagined let’s hope it works out the same way.

  2. I enjoyed clicking on his Instagram profile which simply says:

    Favourite food: sushi 🍣
    Favourite lunch: ramen 🍜

Several Japanese players have signed in Chicago recently, so I’m assuming he won’t have a problem finding somewhere good to eat?

  3. their social media graphics have always been cool as shit. the whole 100th season giveaway campaign last year was so nice

  4. if he performs whitesox have a real chance of getting out of 100 loss season in 2026.

  5. I really wish we just gave him some extra dollars if that’s what it came down to. I have no idea what we’re doing unless we’re in on Okamoto

  6. White Sox fans deserve a star player to cheer for and be excited to see. Hopefully Murakami can live up to his NPB level in MLB.

  7. He can have Seiya Suzuki and Imanaga to hang out with in the off days. Central league boys

  8. I had a feeling he’d sign a short term deal with a mediocre team. It just makes the most sense; the contending teams don’t have the time to invest in either fixing his game or risk proving that he can actually hang at this level.

It’s a prove it deal for Murakami. He’s got 2 years to prove he can be a difference maker and earn a big pay day a couple years from now. He’s still in the same city as Suzuki and Imanaga, so he’ll have some friends there.

I didn’t think the it’d be the White Sox though, thought for sure it would be the Angels. They could easily afford the AAV and could nab some of the periphery fans who came to see the Dodgers and who would like to see Murakami play too.

  9. His manager at Yakult was Shingo Takatsu, who won the World Series with the White Sox in 2005

Shingo must have put in some good words
