NHL Highlights | Jets vs. Mammoth – December 21, 2025

four-point game as they like to say in the Central Division. The Jets are a few points behind the Mammoth entering play tonight in the division. JJ Purka got knocked down. Now Purka will come away WITH IT. COMES ACROSS AND A SHOT BY SCHMALTZ IS gobbled up by Connor Halib. Nikki, it looked like that top might have thrown Schmaltz off just a little bit. >> Yeah. And the puck was rolling >> into the corner to Melo. You’re wearing a beautiful sweater by the way, Matty, tonight. >> My my sweater is shedding as Tom pointed out in pregame. Morsy, he’s in and a stopa. They need the firminator up here. That’s ugly Christmas sweater. >> Kyle Connor, keep an eye on him. 81. Terrific player for the Jets. And a shot by Samird steered away. Baron comes in. So does Gunther. Take it away. Utah wants to go here. Picking it up is Dylan Gunther. Gets around his man. Gunther shoots WIDE OFF THE SCORE. Boston one nothing Utah. >> And then this one is set right on a Tiki for Lawson Krauss. center was a defensive play behind his own net by Dylan Gunther usually covering the point in the D zone but because he was the first forward back he took the role as a centerquist Connor and Shipley of the top unit tonight for the Winnipeg Jets Shipley behind the net right to Connor and covered by Helena Lamela >> yeah I don’t think I’d want to be in there dropping pucks >> I can attest as a centerman you’re in there battling for position. Sticks, bodies flying. Schmidt now plays it in behind the net. Keller’s got it. Keller back to the front. Schmaltz trying to tee one up. Keller with it RIGHT TO THE FRONT. THEY SCORE. JJ PURKA and it’s two nothing Utah. Talk about that front. again the loose puck recoveries the support and they just always moving away from the puck and keep an eye on Peturka he’s going to recognize that Keller has time and space and instead of going to Keller he goes away from Keller and the playmaker delivers a beauty onto the stick offensive zone changes pivotal >> Pearson for Winnipeg looks to get it up the boards hand played by Keroot to the middle and a backhander is gloved down by Halabuk. Play it there for Utah. Marino Schmaltz midpoint shoots when he had Keller but couldn’t get his stick blade on at that time. >> Hell was a little late coming back to that post as it bounced off the board. Similar to what we saw on Lawson Krauss’s goal as Keller tried to beat Connor Hobbuk back to that left post. We’re seeing a lot, are we not, guys, of in the offensive third tonight, mid midpoint stuff, right? Mid mid ice opportunities. AND ANOTHER ONE THERE AND IT’S STOPPED by Helm. Michael Carone’s got it. Wide turn for Carone and in behind the net. McBain D Simone boot shoots and a stop. Hella Morrisy shoots. Blocked away. Big block there out high. But Morrisy has the puck again. They go down low. Malardi trying to get past Mamela. Denied. >> It’s something he’s been vocal about. He’s he’s really worked hard at that side of his game. >> Well, we’re underway here in the second period. Goals from Krauss Peturka. They’ve given Utah the two nothing lead. They’re taken away by Dury. Active and aggressive to start this second period on the Mammoth. along the boards and now in behind the net. Dylan Dlo will get it off the glass and all the way down. No icing call here as this one will be played in behind the net. One thing we noticed in that opening period, Don, we were talking about it between periods. >> Team speed. Winnipeg looks a little slow tonight out of the shoot. Well, that that was all you partner. >> 2,000 games in this league. >> Look out here, Connor. Kyle Connor with a shot as it comes around the boards and another shot gobbled up by Vamela. Big hit there. Baron on Carone. And now D Simone for Carone and a backhander is on and Heluck had to be sharp and play it all the way back. This one goes all the way in behind the net. Second periods have at times have been a bugaboo for Utah this season. Keeping a close eye on that. Good start so far here. Keroot back in. Stland Utah. One area they’ve been good at here is the counterattacks. Playing off the rush. Keroot for Stenland. And back OUT HIGH ACROSS SHOT. SCORE. Alexander Keroot. ONE TIMERS MADE IT 3-NIL. WHO HAS RETURNED to the lineup in a big way. Keller’s got it. Cuts to the middle and another chance side of the net. Keller. KELLER LOOKING AROUND. SHOT. SCHWZ. Is it in? Certainly looked. Three nothing Utah. Cross Moresy. Dlo towards the front. It’s underneath. Played to the side. And now McBain will clean it up in behind the net. Malardi. Morrisy. And now Shiveley back out high. Morsy. Shley goes down low. Shley again across. Connor scores. Kyle Connor and a costly penalty. It’s 3-1. Jets are on the board. >> Can’t catch up. The reason why that lane was open is Kevin Stler. >> Keller takes a shot that goes wide on the mark. And that is NHL goal number 300 for Kyle Connor. Shot. And that just went wide by Keller. Kyle Connor had gone eight games without scoring. That was his largest drought of the season. Back to the line. Peock and it’s scooped up by Melka to get a face off. Jack McBain all over. Keeps the play alive. What a recovery and Cole pull down LOW TO THE FRONT. OVER THE POINT BLANKER Kelluck on McBain. Morrisy will bring it out. Josh Morrisy now for Shipley. Drops it. Sent wide. He’ll need a rider with a good look. He gets another one here in front. >> I hope you’re healthy. I hope you’re safe and prosperous and uh we’ll be thinking about you over the next few days. Well said. Circuit will send one in off the face off. We were kind of teasing it before we went to break. Logan Stanley, good keep there. Shot. Shley blocked from Shawn Dery there right in front off the one-time from Shley. Got to do everything you can to get pucks out at this time of the game. Across and they score and it’s Kyle Connor again. Sharp angle and it’s a one-goal game with 437 to go and an extended shift defensive zone particularly the defense. You keep an eye on male Sergey just at the end of his rope physically here. Doesn’t have a lot left in the tank. Lord does Lawson Krauss as they take a knee after the first shot was blocked by Shawn Dery. But then this puck comes back around and it’s the bad angle one-time that finally beats Carell Velco about 15 or 20 seconds prior to the goal going in. Utah a chance to get the puck out. Not able to get into the corner it goes. Lowry in behind the net. Bumped off the puck by John Marino. >> See if that goal galvanizes the Mammoths to get back on their front foot here. >> They’re trying to GET IT TO BARON. BARON SCORES AND IT’S 3-3 blown to Simon and Morgan. Baron has tied it just like that. You see puck gets into the feet of Nick Schmaltz and John Marino gets on the offensive side of Schmaltz. As a defenseman, you got to stay underneath. Anytime there’s a 50/50 puck, got to stay on the defensive side of that play. Ends up going back the other way. And the Jets shoots it in, rolls around. Cole reverses it in in behind the net. Shipley tried to get it to the front and that’s going to do it. The horn sounds. We’re heading. Everybody waving their towels here tonight at Delta Center. Underway and Dylan Gunther. Yeah, you better believe he’s out there. And Utah has the puck. Gunther brings it in. Gunther across. Keller shoots. He scores. Clayton Keller, THE CAPTAIN WITH A WASACH WINNER. 43 UTAH. Shot the net. NO STICK KENNEL FROM KELLER. DOESN’T ALLOW

Karel Vejmelka made 23 saves and Clayton Keller had two points, including the overtime winning goal to lift the Utah Mammoth past the Winnipeg Jets 4-3.

  1. Leafs lose Marner and the wheels fall off. Jets lose Ehlers and the wheels fall off. In a league as tight as the NHL it’s crazy how one GM fumble can decimate a team

  2. Jets has the same pressure in their effort like Leafs. They feel tensed and are mentally down , self confidence in scoring has crashed.

  3. Face facts…The season is done! I'm glad Conner got his 300th goal but the only way to turn this into a winning season is to finish last place and win the draft lottery!!! Coming in 8th and getting the last playoff spot does what? It gives you the opportunity to get swept four straight by Colorado!! Dump or trade at least a third of the current players at the end of the season and start fresh next year!!
